One of the greatest Rock and Rollers of all time died last night. Glad I got to see him sing this live in LA in 77. Love you David, and will miss you~! Condolences to your family and us fans. He made rock music so effortlessly, what a voice and stage presence.
Great song. The emphasis here of the rhythm guitar lick--buried deeper in the original recording--gives the song a new feeling. I wonder if this reflects the original intent. The recording is very "studio" imo--with the twisting sax bed uniting the mix
The recording of TVC 15 has something so fantastic about it i have never heard a live version that has done it justice. There are versions of this just a couple of years later where it is sped up and looses the oomph at the chorus. Great song! It sure is compelling to watch David here in the middle of an epic coke binge.
thank you "rosalin74"! Station To Station was the very first record i ever owned - must've listened to this song 10,000 times and it still feels so killer. GOD that band is unbelievable!
Don't know why it was cut, Dan, but this footage is awesome! To see David rehearsing happily...how well it is done...you almost believe he didn't ever need to rehearse!! LOVE it and thanks for posting, rosalin74! ;)
The Amazing thing about BOWIE was even when he was on his Drug Hazed state,he still kept working.Nobody else would have had the Stamina ,or even the Will to even get up to go to the Bathroom, except maybe to throw up or Shootup!!! Him and Iggy, and everyone else was Driving that White Cadillac to the Heavens, but Bowie knew he had to cut the Cables sooner or later...otherwise..there might have never been a Berlin trilogy,or anything else.ROCK N'ROLL SUICIDE was almost coming true!!!
Ha,ha.I tell you Keri..they don't make them like they use to.I celebrated last night by listening to STATION TO STATION,and LOW back to back...What a Journey.Have a Great New Year's,too!!!!
+David Barnes I just read an interview with him from around this time and he said that he would never take drugs that slowed him down, therefore he took cocaine. He wanted to keep his fast tempo and creativity. But of course, he could easily OD´d on cocaine!
+David Barnes He was working until the day he passed...he made lists for music to be released after his passing...what an amazing thing to do while he was so sick and knew he was dying....WOW
Oh yeah,MusicFreak Smith..also they Albums he worked on for other Artists he loved was something Amazing as well for Mott,Iggy and Lou Reed, too!!! I hope to one day do a Crazy You Tube Dedication to his Genius one of these days...In fact check out My videos at ''DAVID RADICALS CINEMA ART,and see for yourself!!! Salute.
I saw this tour at Wembley. He was acting very odd on stage and stopped and started songs saying ...'don't want to do that one.....'. The fans loved it but I came away thinking he was a bit unprofessional, of course it didn't matter, I still loved it. Years later it's all explained with his cocaine addiction
Saw him 1st time on this tour ,, been hooked for long time guess David's my favorite,,if I had to choose ,, and not 1 song I dont luv ,,a rare gift never b another ,, an yum,, he was so damned fine n sexy ,, in all persona's
Wow, I remember seeing him perform this song during his "Thin White Duke" Tour. The rehearsal was better than the performance.....Let's call this the "Resurrection of the Thin White Duke"!
people even if he comes back and looses the lyrics of their song, its david bowie and the people would keep loving him because he is a legend so stop with the cocaine thing. is not a joke, was terrible for him and was under pressure because the fame.
i can't help thinking about him, even the colors of duke. it's a big problem...lately. I know what you mean..hehe...i need a psychologist or a boyfriend!! XD
This is hilarious. David is like the duracell bunny coked up to his eyeballs. Love him.
*very foooooneeee*
Especially in the beginning! I'd be having as much fun if I was on as many lines as him.

Probably my biggest disappointment of Bowie's career is that there was never an official live album from this tour. The bootlegs were great.
look up Nassau ‘76 sometime… it has been officially mixed, mastered and released. The vinyl version sounds great!!

NEVER been a song LIKE it, before OR since.....

+ziggymardust RIP David 1947-2016
Check out all the songs from the rehearsals...it's great watching David keep going off to the side, just out of the picture, to do more lines!

I find The Thin White Duke era quite underrated, everyone is focused on Ziggy Stardust.

You know that the song's about a wild idea that Bowie and Iggy Pop had of the Tv eating Pop's girlfriend, yeah?
