My daughter started piano lessons at age 7….she was very talented and would play this song for me….over and over again. Never tired of it! She is 57 now…..glad that as poor as we were as young parents that we invested in a piano, and lessons. She has that piano in her home now! Memories! ❤

As a child, I was in the hospital for an unknown illness. Found out I was deathly allergic to dust/dust mites. All my stuffed animals had to go. My father gave me a music box that played "Music Box Dancer" while I was in the hospital. It still is my most favorite song ever.
@Shanan Davidson: Great story... I don't remember where I was when I first heard it, but it became my favorite too. I play it when I'm glad, sad, or mad, and it helps to harmonize me every time!

I remember the first time I ever heard this... it was 1979, the power was out, and I was listening to my little portable radio, when out of the darkness came absolute magic.
That's about the time I did too. I play piano by ear, this song inspired me to move my young gift forward. I still go back to it for inspiration in many other ways. It's perfectly gentle as well as inspirational. It should be introduced again to a few more generations that need inspiring.
This song is quietly inspiring. It should be reintroduced to people that need personal inspiration.

My mum had the 45 inch record. We used to listen to it on the radio and started humming to it, so we decided to play it on the record and I used to hop on to her feet and dance to it before I went off to school at the age of 12. I finally stopped. Getting to heavy to hop on to my mother's feet

I bought the album on cassette when I was 13. I am now 53 and still my absolute favorite. Every night I play the extended version and I am sleeping before it's over. ❤️

The song came out in October of 1979, I believe. When my son was born, I immediately attached that song in my mind to him. My son is the joy of my life!!!! :)
As always i will not tire of listening to Frank Mills MUSIC BOX DANCER....am ultra glad that there is this " extended" version....like i left my music box open and am watching this little ballerina twirl and twirl and twirl and twirl... As a musician myself....i will just leave this music box open .... Thanks Frank for this exercise for the fingers!!!....i do too and will just plaaaaayyyy onnnnnnnnnnn.......... These fingers will not stop to play beautiful music!!!!

I played piano as a child, never took it far. Something about others wanting you to do something so much that it was not fun for you. I must learn to play this song before I die. Still rings in my ears after 40+ years

Since I have been on a personal direct quest to understand eternal life as I know he is in heaven. When I hear this song I see the joy of all those who enter into heaven at the moment of death only to instantly realize there is no death and by the grace of Christ now enter into a kingdom controlled by God where life is everlasting, joy unspeakable and peace beyond understanding overwhelm us to tears. All pain is GONE. No more hurt but only honest pure love and caring everywhere I see people enter with this song playing into a beaituful park like setting full of activity - children playing and dancing everywhere A few on swings hanging from giant beautiful trees - a big ring of children circling Jesus as they dance and smile ear to ear with Jesus slowly turning while looking at each of them with pure love and a smile of Joy on His face because His love wants all to have that exact overflowing joy. While the song plays and children dance and run around others of all races and tongues on the side watch and all smile and laugh as they too join into the song and the flow of joy. As the song continues I see a group of boys and girls enter my view in a line while they each are dancing to the joy of the song and the life. I see a boy in the line doing a funny dance differnt then most just having a good time expressing himself in love and joy. Angels are on the ground and in the air swaying smiling and some have their arms around people. Others dance like no one has ever seen as they twirl in a incredible bliss. Jesus is the center of it all. My son is there with the younger kids and has one on his back and twirling a little girl. The music is beautiful and everyone is full of love and joy. That's what heaven will be like- Some songs were created by divine inspiration evidenced by what the song does inside people. Heaven is real Life hear is short Prepare and experience what is so wonderful it will repay for all the suffering and hardship 10000 times over. Love is real You can feel it in this song-parents share the song with your kids Play it when the kids are doing homework and grab your wife unexpected and dance with her in the living room in front of them. It doesn't matter how bad of a dancer you are. That's not the point. Do it to the love and joy of the song. Don't say anything just smile and laugh. The kids will stop and be amazed. Guaranteed smiles on their faces and they will never forget the moment of joy and love you just showed them how to live and experience it
My all-time favorite. My kids were 10, 8 and 3 when this came out. I bought the 45 record. They loved it. We still remember the magic!!!

This is a timeless classic it will be heard and played for hundreds of years. I remember listening to this song for the very first time I was ten years old I have the original video Frank mills playing the piano with a little ballerina comes out . Then I have 2 extended versions Now. I have this one. It relaxes me it brings back good memories that I Have deep in my Heart Some happy Some so sad. Especially it reminds me of my granddaughter my first granddaughter KIDA.

I discovered it in 1991 and created my own extended version on cassette. Music Box Dancer filled one side and Axel F filled the other. I would play it when my family and I were in the car and now it's a memory my "kids" will remember forever.

From a prior dr visit we knew it was caught very early He was young strong and healthy and we live near one of the best children’s hospitals in the world and they gave us a 95% chance of full recovery
Wife and I been dedicated Christian’s for 35 years. I have personally seen God do miracles on a scale you wouldn’t believe if I told you.
I have seen God totally heal a friend who was final stages of cancer throughout whole body and dr called it a real miracle
I have seen a man of God at a large Jesus Go Fest in Dallas Tx with 10,000 people standing outside waiting for the music to start when a typical dark dark Storm roll in fast threatening EVERYTHING and a man of God got up on stage grabbed the mic and prayed and then looked up at the purple dark clouds that had just rolled over the crowd with no sun cold air and large rain drops starting. He pointed at the storm and in the name of Jesus he commanded it to back up and INSTANTLY a hole appeared right in the middle of a dark sky as far as eye coukd see. The sun light broke through and it’s direction was RIGHT ON THE STAGE. The hole enlarged as 10,000 people watched. The crowd bursted into shouts and awe as the whole enlarged so fast everyone KNEW they were seeing the power of GOD I’m not exaggerating at all
I could tell you how I have seen a broken ankle bone snap playing basket ball and another REAL man of God prayed and laid his hand on it and it instantly went flat and no pain and I ( it was my ankle ) got up and finished playing with no pain no problem

Robbie is one of the nicest fun loving caring adventurous strong self confident boys anyone has ever met and he himself loved God and wasn’t ashamed of him or to call himself a Christian
5 weeks after diagnoses my boy left this world and nothing I had ever heard taught nothing in my life prepared me ( us ) for it. It crushed our lives in a pain so horrific that unless you have and love a child enough to die for them and they die the fact is you don’t have the capacity to comprehend the pain
That’s how he left this world
It happens fast and he didn’t suffer much as no one expected it
One of my greatest pains is his entire life we were very very close. From when he was old enough to walk I took him everywhere He loved being with his dad and I him. He was several years more mature than his friends because of it. I can’t describe our relationship and sadly most fathers have very littke of a real relationship with their kids but mine was way past just being good it was great
Why do I think God didn’t heal him ? It’s a bold question I am only able to answer after 7 years and what has happened in those 7 years
