Yung Volkswagen ay made in China. Company is SAIC also the makers of MG. Walang parts sa market yan similar to MG. Best stay with the Japanese cars if you want serious support and parts availability. Ang style ng SAIC ay bumili ng European Brands na luma tapos gamitin eto sa kanilang marketing ng mga produkto. Kung Pinoy kayo, alam niyo na ang AMPAO! Maging matalino sa pag gastos ng pera! Suzuki is underated pero reliable yan! Ganun din ang other japanese brands and korean brands.
Wag mag stereotype kung di ka well informed sir. VW and SAIC are partners for decades and SAIC complies to VW's strict quality standards. Kung may friend or family ka from Europe and knows Skoda, SEAT, Audi and VW very well let them try VW Ph's new lineup bago mag stereotype. Santana is also made from PQ25 platform same with Skoda Rapid, SEAT Ibiza, Audi A1, Jetta and Polo. :)

@@jeamaclang AT boss. Wala atang MT to. Experience wise, driving experience planted siya sa road very comfortable and stable. Power, bitin sa power especially kung na-try mo na mag Civic. No replaced parts since purchased October 2018. Both interior and exterior styling is on conservative side. Overall, very happy with it. Plus all VWs are laser welded. You can really feel the sturdiness of the car especially when you closed the door. :)

meron kameng kapitbahay nung isang araw lang nakatira sya sa apartment(marameng pinto). walang garahe pero merong kotse. galeng syang trabo kuno dala kotse nya honda civic na bulok nung gabeng yon. pagdateng nya may nakagarahe sa tapat ng apertment nila sa kalsada mismo na ibang kotse, pinatawag nya yung may are ng kotse at pinaalis ba naman. tapos biglang syang nagalet at nagsisisigaw na , NAKA RESERVE DAW SA KANYA YUNG SPOT NA YON AT GALENG SYANG TRABAHO AT GANYAN DAW DADATNAN NYA(NABWISIT SYA). In Manila's flat land and traffic, those small-engine, small- capacity and low-powered 4-bangers are okay. But with 5 people and full cargoes travelling to mountainous regions like Baguio, the turtles have reasons to smile a bit. ;-)

Some of this cars may be under 700k but what about the depreciation cost, maintenance, aftersales service and parts availability? I think there at least 3 cars here that can potentially be more expensive to own in the long run than a civic or a corolla.

What's wrong with made in china? It's only assembled there because the labor is cheap but the materials come from the country of origin... the notion of , "if it's produced in China, it must be of low quality," was only in vogue in the 70's & 80's. But now, it keeps competitive and it has levelled up in terms of engineering because it undergoes a strict quality control in its testing for its endurance and capability.

Used car? Even Japanese brands (may Japanese made pa bang binibenta ngayon?) have their share of problems. FYI, we own a Toyota & Honda.
No Japanese made cars in US, its Japanese brand. Got 2000 Tacoma 280k miles 2009 sienna 185k miles 2012 Camry 125k miles oil change and brake jobs only, all bought used still running great. Just drove my sienna to yosimete 500+miles. Just have to be smart when you buy used cars bro.
A new vehicle is better than used no matter what the brand is. Someone might say for example a foton thunder pickup is made in China, the body and the name is correct but the parts being put on it are of a good quality like for example: Cummins engine, Lotus chassiz that is a German made, getrag transmission a German made, holset turbo a US made,dana axles, borg warner transfer case...etc
Mas ok ang new car.
A new car will be nice if you can afford to buy in cash. A 1 yr old car would not make a difference if it was driven in normal condition vs a brand new. Remember car loses value up to 60% by end of its 3rd year. You might want to invest your money on investments that makes money.

Not everyone has very low salary. Maraming pinoy na more than 30k pesos a month ang salary. Pwede na mag-installment sa kotse ang may ganong sweldo.
Then don't buy one just use public transport or buy motorbike.
