    i used a similar system from a different manufacturer, and i spend more time fixing the auto feed than i did actually putting screws in the decking. i just went back to crawling around with a bag of screws and a screw guide on a regular screw gun

    You should post an affiliate link for the Screw gun setup. This way we can go right to the product. Fewer messages for you and you probably would make a little change.

    You mentioned that it can also be used as drywall gun. Wouldn't the sharp edges (designed for deck and subfloor system) damage the drywall paper?.

      I have one it does damage, but it’s not noticeable considering you’re going to cover it anyways

    Okay so you can use other screws other than drywall I’ve asked a lot of people no one could answer. I knew I could find something on your channel about it. I wish I could find out where you got the attachment

    Does anyone know if these attachments and drill will do the drywall screws as well or only deck? I see an entire kit like this with 2 batteries a charger drill and all the attachements for 460 which it seems like a steal but would want it to do both drywall and deck screws. My friends Metabo did both but didn’t do decks that well it struggled a little bit skipping on the heads of the deck screws.

    When you’re sheathing the floor are you rtcking them with screws or nails and then coming back with that to screw them off? Or would you normally have a guy screwing the sheets off as you’re setting the next one?

      Hey Tony, yes usually the top corners get tacked as they are laid. Guy running the screw gun is usually a sheet or two behind them being laid.

      you want a guy screwing off right away if you are using glue (like PL400).

    How many sheets can you screw down with one of those batteries?

    • @AwesomeFramers
      @AwesomeFramers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly I don't recall. I feel like I used 2 of the batteries on this floor, but if I use a bigger FlexVolt battery, it lasts the floor.

    Can the quick drive set up be used for any cordless dry wall gun or only the dewalt drywall gun

    • @dansalt-sfl
      @dansalt-sfl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Simpson sells adapters for a variety of screwguns, corded and cordless. They are generally used on higher torque decking/structural guns. Same ergonomics as drywall guns but have more power. This guy may be using the dewalt versa-torque.

    You have the Max coil framer. Why not use scrails? Screw and nail in one. Check out th-cam.com/video/5CDfaEbzay4/w-d-xo.html.

      good question. Because we get so much rain we were screwing the floor down right before finished floor after the house had dried out. If we screw down to begin with, we save that step later. I haven't found the scrails to be as good at preventing squeaks as others have. I think that is because we get so wet half the year.
