The Nord has settings for string resonance and long release It also has differently Mic'd grand pianos. Any one setting on ether piano could make them sound different.
Both are good, but the Nord Electro is more real. He would be happy with both of them. Each ear processes in its own way. Congratulations for Nord and Korg!
Hi ! I got a Vox Continental myself and have a question : When pushing the damper pedal, I can hear a " hiss " sound supposed to emulate the sound of the dampers coming off the strings like a real piano. I found this sound very annoying and can't find a way to turn it off. Do you know how to do it ?
To my ears, the Nord has a very classy piano sound... definitely not your garden variety type. The Vox piano sound may be a little more on the garden variety side but still sounds very good. It also sounds like the Nord may have a deeper dynamic range. Both are good but I might prefer the Nord for ballads while the Vox for rocking out.

Vox is more powerful it's the Kronos & Grandstage Piano engines tech. Nord is just samples looping. Greatest downfall of the VOX is no ability to add new sound libraries. Don't gotta Vox but I do have the Kronos and Electro 5. CX9 is way more expressive but sound amazing though.
Ameretsu, good point. I have a Kronos, and the factory VOX and piano are not very good. So I just bought 3rd party sounds for my Kronos, I got this fantastic VOX Continental organ sound set, wow! And it's a lot cheaper than buying a brand new, $2,999 synth. Without abilities to add new sound library at all, I would say such a synth is a complete waste of money. The whole idea of the Kronos is you never have to buy another synth again, just keep upgrading it with whatever 3rd party sounds you want, and trust me, as I'm sure you know, there are a lot of incredible sounds out there. The VOX sound set I just bought is better than the Krog's version, it's ok, but looks like a toy and kinda sounds like one.
i would have used a Stage 2 or 3... 88, lets use the full piano keyboard. It seemed to me like the Vox was in a lower octave or had bassier tone. But neither of these intstruments were really intended for Piano comparisons. The Vox was trying to emulate the Continental of the 60s, and Nord is really for B3, some synths but great piano replication. again, still would be unequal comparison. 2 distinctly different organ sounds. I ask Korg.... Why bother building a replica of the Nords?
No ví el vídeo solo me dedique a escuchar y hay un piano que tiene más cuerpo,un poco apagado pero con un brillo me hizo imaginar uno real estilo stenway.tecla x tecla todos se parecen.pero al realizar acordes,la unión de esos sonidos le dan esa característica propia.todo esto para decir q nord es nord pero muy bueno el vox.nada q ver alos sonidos que nos tiene acostumbrados korg con esos pianos de plástico.

I'll do a demo soon, close your eyes and try to guess if I'm on a real VOX or real piano - and you'll open your eyes to see it's just ONE, not may synths trying to compete. Yo creí que aun sin samples Kronos es mejor que todos en calidad sonora y no exagera poniendo brillantes y demasiado ataque como yamaha por dar un ejemplo. Ambos del video son bueno. Everybody that says Nord wins is because they bought a Nord and could have saved the money by buying a Vox. I have A Studiologic Numacompact 2x for $700. that sounds better than a Nord. Nord pianos suck. I sold my Nord. Could not stand the pianos. Studiologic has better organs plus real drawbars. I've had it since April of '21 and have done over 25 gigs, many outdoors plus rehearsals and much woodshedding. never had a problem.
I'm confused, what's the point of making a new VOX Continental ORGAN, then using that to demo piano???? Kinda like a man saying, "Look at me, I can sing like a female!" Who cares!

The Nord piano sounds a bit brighter. But that could just be the EQ setting on the Vox. Also, the Nord is way more expensive that the Vox.
So how do you actually compare? Nord has dozens of piano sounds, also the effects are very important. I guess the VOX also has a bunch of those, too/

Which has the "better" organ sounds? Or at least, gives you the most options for 60s sounding organ sounds?
I would imagine they're pretty similar on Vox and Farfisa but Nord gives you a lot more B3 options and settings - percussion and rotary have more.

If the player had adjusted the sounds before doing this comparison (e.g. reverb) it would have been way more meaningful. Otherwise, nice playing ...

Pianos are a wash... subjective... but the Vox wins on the OTHER stuff (Organs, etc!)
I think the real drawbars on the Nord are better. I don't think either is bad though.
Nord a little warmer mid range. Vox darker sound, a little more scooped EQ.
Rise of the Bon3 you can eq the Vox however you want using the drawbars.
It is very difficult to decide.

Nice demo. The Korg looks somehow cheap. The sound is usually very subjective and it depends on the context you're playing.
