Beautiful score Michael. I wanted one of these so bad… but the timing wasn’t right $$ wise at the time. I’m happy for you that you scored one. Yours is absolutely beautiful ❤️👍. Thanks for the video…. Grab those equate cough drops at work … 😁😷😄…rest up when ya can
I went and bought a micarta, antique bone, and wintergreen bone 93 from this run. Planning to choose one of the bunch. I literally can’t choose which one to let go! They’re all gorgeous in their own ways!!
I just got a 93 Northfeild, cocobolo scales with keyhole shield. I just love them with that rams foot and swayback. I think your shield is a what GEC calls an Orleans shield. Take care to get all the way better bud! I appreciate cha!
I picked this one up also. Out of the lineup I thought this is just some of the best looking bone that they have done. The green jigged bone with the ram shield is pretty cool though.
I live my GEC dream vicariously through you mate!!! where I live you just can't get them & if you could you'd probably have to sell your truck to get one LOL. BUT that is one sweet blade mate, if you ever want to trade a GEC with an Aussie who's got a massive collection hit me up mate!!
Heck yeah. Oil the pivot and work that blade back and forth and keep adding oil until it’s not black from residue anymore. It’ll flush all that nasty junk out.
Well, it’s a beauty Michael, but I’m finding collecting, or just trying to find GEC’s harder than collecting the rarest CRK’s or Striders. (It’s really getting irritating actually!) They go in seconds when you can find them. In 6 years I’ve managed to collect 3, so I’m obviously looking in the wrong places! I love the covers on this one the most, would like to see what slip you come up with for it!
@@richterknivesThanks, I’ll look around! I’m not on Facebook which is part of the problem, (I’ve always resisted over sharing!) I have a good collection of Case and others going back into the ‘90’s with a few even older, and 7 or 8 Jack Wolf, but these GEC’s are on a whole other level. I couldn’t believe the quality of the first UN-X-LD I got. I’ll set some notifications and see what I can find. Thanks again! 👍
Don’t you love the 93 pattern….. I want to get them all….. sometimes when I really like a pattern I’ll buy as many as I can get!!!! I like the original rams foot with the jig bone…. That will make 3 total I have there too good I have to have them all!!!!😊
Damn bro you are sounding ROUGH in this video!! You weren't kidding about being sick holy crap. That is one great looking 93!! LOVE the bone on that thing!! Gorgeous color and so much character with the textures etc. I believe that shield is called an 'Orleans' shield. The only reason I know that is cause my 1995 Washburn big jazz box guitar is called 'The Orleans' and it has those 'Orleans' inlays running up and down the fingerboard and one big 'ol inlay on the headstock! That shape can also be called a 'Fleur de lis' for a heraldic shield that resembles a flower (French translation: Flower Lily). When you told me that knife was just gonna be trade bait, I was like yeah right ha NAHHHH...Ricther gonna carry THAT ONE!!! Does your knife have any of the gaps between the bolsters and the covers that SlipJointDisplay was talking about in his review?? I'm not seeing any but I can't see for shit lol. I can't believe just how freaking dark the micarta's gotten on your 2019 model!!! Mine's dark, but that one is positively molasses colored!! Probably from going straight into your pocket with no slip I'd suspect!! Oh the bone one from 2019 with the Ram's shield was called Oily Creek Bone. I was so indecisive about grabbing any of these new 93s that I wound up sleeping on ALL of them hahaha!! Great video, man!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah bro I was dying 🤣 your right…”orelans shield” is right. I couldn’t think of it on the spot lol. The gaps like Michael Christie’s was very minimal at the bolsters. Not perfect but dang tight. Yeah the Micarta on my 93 is pretty dark. Really looking good. 38 Farmer Jack in my sights!
That's awesome. I need to sell off some knives and add some gecs to the collection. Great video 👍
What a great looking blade!! You did a great job cleaning up the edge on that as well!! Thanks for sharing this great piece!!
Thanks for the feedback buddy
Beautiful blade R!🎉
Thank ya!!! 😁😁
Some great looking covers on that one! Thanks for showing it off, buddy!
Thanks for watching!

Glad you're feeling better. That's a super sweet knife.
Thanks bud
Absolutely beautiful knives. I have this one in a proto as well as the natural linen micarta, but my favorite one is the wintergreen bone🔥
They are some sweet knives
Your buddy hooked you up with some nice covers there!
He sure did
Now you’ve got me thinking about keeping my antique lol. These 93’s are all so dang nice.
They are

YEE YEE......188...93
Yessir!
I’m glad you like that packing peanut in the tube. I decided to throw that in there at no additional cost. 😂
Ppreciate that it was tasty

@@MikeM-t7p oh yeah. Agree
Marvelous knife, Michael! Thanks for sharing. What is your all time favorite every day carry? You have such a stunning collection.
I think my GEC 78 Amber jigged bone is my favorite. It’s in my pocket right now

That is sweet. I think I have paid drop price less than 10% on my GECs
Thanks bud
I got one in snake wood and I love it only thing I would add would be a lanyard hole otherwise it’s perfection
Oh yeah
What a beautiful example of USA made cutlery!

The snap on one of my 93 is a bit resistant. Would a small drop of oil perhaps smooth that out? I think stuff like that wears in too.
Heck yeah. Oil the pivot and work that blade back and forth and keep adding oil until it’s not black from residue anymore. It’ll flush all that nasty junk out.
What do you think makes these type of covers so shiny? Is it some type of sealant or polyurethane? Is the upkeep the same as other materials?
I’m pretty sure it’s just buffed with a buffing wheel and a compound

Secondary market is the place to go. Trust me. I’ve only bought 2 new ones in my life
