Ginger is a lovely lady, to be in her presence is a gift I will hold within me for the rest of my life. This interview doesn't do her the justice she so richly deserves. She is in herself ethereal and a calm comes over you when you are in her comany. Thank you Ginger, for some very special memories. (The book, the shop, the something in the film canister but above all the angel above you on the staircase), special, so very, special, thank you.

@@Misses-Hippy They married because she was pregnant with their first child, they went to UK's version of a court house wedding and didn't even have rings. Married July 1975 and their daughter was born January 1976 (6 month later). I do not know if they would ever have married or survived long after 1975 because she started getting into all this weird spiritual teaching and followings and DG didn't like it. There are also stories of DG having to sneak to eat meat like hamburger because she was Vegetarian and didn't like him eating meat. These two were probably physically attracted initially but really never had much in common.

@@YouAreMySunshine2 The only thing that you're wrong about is Alice's birth. She was born May 9, 1976, not January. Everything else I agree with. Love at first sight logically does NOT exist. LUST at first sight? Definitely. Which is most likely what this was. Moved in together after only knowing each other for a few days?! Yeah....no. I'm surprised it took as long as it did for them to end seeing she says in the book, IN HER OWN WORDS that they were having troubles very early on. But he wanted kids and someone to take care of the house, soooo...Is it a coincidence that one of David's favorite songs at that time was Neil Young's A Man Needs A Maid?
      ....I think not.

She seems very sweet. I can’t deny that I felt a very strange response to her saying that “David was the image of Christ”. She’s looking for answers and it’s amazing and admirable she’s found peace after such a profound and life changing betrayal but I don’t know that I fully understand how she perceives things. I have heard that David is an atheist and I’ve wondered if that is true. I can’t imagine he is given her strong spirituality and connection to God.

My second time watching this and I can feel that the "wholeness" of PF music is complemented by Ginger's spiritual journey as presented here. Fascinating that they blessed themselves with four children and then after the break, at some point, David meets Polly and there's another brood of children. And there's no doubt that Polly Sampson with her lyrical contribution to the later PF and Gilmour songs is making a valuable spiritual contribution to the whole. The Division Bell is particularly significant in this matter. To answer Ginger's point in the discussion. On the inner journey of spirit to ignore the dark side of life, whether war, movies or whatever, is a mistake. You can shine the light and live in it, for sure, but pretending the dark siode is not there or not real is also a mistake. In order to come to completion we have to embrace it all.

So, while the other members may have experimented/dabbled earlier on, I struggle to believe they had much draw to hallucinogenic substances post late summer/fall of 1967. I find it curious that this issue seems to be so serious and maddening to you. Seems to me it's no one's business except the two people involved. Doesn't really affect the rest of us.
By the way, I know a lot of women who continue to use their married names after divorce. Most, actually. The ones I know who went back to their maiden names usually do so after a particularly acrimonious divorce and/or if there are no children.

Another bit of ironic fact for you: Gilmour's present wife did NOT take his name. She goes by Polly Samson and has specifically asked people not to call her "Mrs. Gilmour."

You can legally change your name to whatever a judge allows you to "legally" change it to. So she does have the "right" to have that name.

Dan Reynolds/Sunday Times - This "Scooby" person is obviously a lowlife. And a young one, at that; not much life experience. MANY perfectly "normal" women keep their married names. There is nothing at all wrong with it. This person is extremely disrespectful...to ALL of us - by being such an affront to society.

You obviously hadn’t seen her when she was younger. It’s sad when a beautiful woman looses her looks to time and then to have to witness the father of your four kids marry a girl much younger and way more successful than yourself must also suck too.
