Frank was around during a very different time. Plummcorp is the evolution of Joji’s humor. Sure, those of us who experienced Frank and the gang miss those days, but any real Joji/Frank fan is just happy Joji not only was able to create a successful music career, but that he is able to get back into comedy skits in a way that doesn’t take a toll on his health or his sanity. I will always remember FilthyFrank fondly and I say this as a long time fan of Joji/Frank, FilthyFrank should not be brought back. That chapter of Joji’s life is done. It’s time for us to move on and embrace what Joji is creating now.

I'm gonna say it. there are times when I think Dracula flow is funnier than the Filthy Frank stuff. I still love vids like "people I hate" and the pink guy album is a riot. But somehow Dracula manages to beat it just by sheer jokes per minute. All the lines are so funny. The fact that an Old man is reading this from a script with such conviction and not breaking character whatsoever, while saying the most vile things is hilarious. The editing style of the quick cuts is a holdover from the Frank days and it fits perfectly.

I used to watch him in high school before he went on a long break but he’s back now and the videos are just as funny as the OG channel with new characters too. Filthy Frank characters rarely faced consequences and the harm and error of their behavior was never shown. When the initial audience of FilthyFrankTV watched it, do you really think anyone saw it and got the impression, that what the characters did was “the worst of the internet” or bad? Absolutely not, the characters were loved and glorified for their behavior by the majority of the fan base. Satire is not supposed to garner it’s subject praise, otherwise it has failed

Pre 88Rising Joji was the best Joji, after that his music went downhill to all original Joji fans. It appealed to the pop music fans and it’s what makes money, so it makes sense 88Rising would push him to do it. George has always had that fascination with characters and lore building. Filthy Frank, Pink Guy, Joji, etc. Seems like he's missing the good old days of shitposting, but using everything he's learned through his career to build a new universe. But this time he's sitting in the Director's chair. Seems like our good old boy is living it up. Makes me happy :)

I feel satire can only be praised if it critiques what its portraying. Sure you can say Filthy Frank was ultimately satire, but how exactly did it critique anything? Filthy Frank characters rarely faced consequences and the harm and error of their behavior was never shown. When the initial audience of FilthyFrankTV watched it, do you really think anyone saw it and got the impression, that what the characters did was “the worst of the internet” or bad? Absolutely not, the characters were loved and glorified for their behavior by the majority of the fan base. Satire is not supposed to garner it’s subject praise, otherwise it has failed
@@iAmLufa- That is the fault of that portion of the fan base. Those videos are so outrageously offensive and exaggerated, that they can and should only be taken as a joke.
The Filthy Frank character made fun of everyone and everything. Joji pointed that out in the DizastaMusic and TVFilthyFrank channel description, as well as a multitude of his videos.
It's obviously fine if you don't like the edgy humor, but these videos were the ultimate shitposts... people who took them seriously missed the whole point of them. I find them fucking hilarious, even in 2024.

Fuck no dude, the offensive shit was the best part. Back when people didn't take shit other people said on the internet seriously. But you can't get away with jokes like that nowadays or somebody gets their feelings hurt. That's why filthy frank was so awesome, he just didn't give a fuck about people's feelings because his fanbase understood that it was all just for laughs. We needed an outlet like that. It's just comedy at the end of the day

Even if he won't be acting himself, if it's anything like the shenanigans from back in the day dracula flow might be genuinely fucking great and a breath of fresh air in the current era of youtube where nobody is even trying to push boundaries or anything unique because they can't be arsed to put in any effort or are afraid of being demonetized. Gonna check it out now. I'll miss the more edgy stuff, but this is as good as it gets i guess.
I think the edgy shit was of its time, and I still laugh at it, because funny is funny. Though I think if Joji did that kind of stuff now, it would be contrived, because he wouldn't be changing the formula whatsoever. Plummcorp is definitely Joji's unique flavor of fucked up, and I'm here for it. He's really leaning into the oddball, absurd, surrealist shit ... it ain't nothing to him man.

Out of anything that he did do for that time, that I am glad that he did, was step away to take care of himself and do his own thing.
Alot of people forgot those vids he had where his real self was present and honestly I enjoyed the ridculousness of frank paired with his own real nature, but alot of people reacted negatively I think and he took it down.
At the end of the day, he made some great stuff. Outlandish stuff. Shit I still watch from time to time. But he has that right to step away for what is good for 'em. Hopefully this time around won't be so hard on him.

It appealed to the pop music fans and it’s what makes money, so it makes sense 88Rising would push him to do it. Joji dropped 88Rising now, I think he signed with Time Warner which will hopefully give him more artistic freedom.
