City were looking to bounce back from last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Tottenham.
An early goal by Rodrigo set the tone for what was to follow, with two more strikes from Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez just before the break.
Villa pulled one back after half-time, but there were chances at either end in an entertaining game.

While I love some other players from the team a little bit more, De Bruyne is the heart of this team and the true playmaker. He is absolutly insane with creating oportunities, making good passes and opening windows for the rest of the team to shine. An absolute beast.

Coutinho is still a class player. Haaland recently proving he is more than just a goalscorer
Coutinho is a class player but things are not going well around him, I hope in future he gets good team, personally I would like to see him in Bayern again

Haaland is finally properly adjusting into the City team we used to know. That pattern of everybody finding and feeding Haaland wasn't gonna work for City in the longrun.
Thsts what I thought with this game, he might be a goal machine but I think he’ll end up getting just as many assists as goals in our system of play
And they adjust to playing with a 9 and finally play the ball forward again. Several chances are created because they look for his runs and City are suddenly a much more dangerous team again.

@@Dougie- Evidence has proven that it's better he adjusts to the team and not the other way round. Guadiola has proven that it's better when everyone is a potential goal scorer; the defense of the opponent is more confused. Haaland is huge plus to the team, but he would have to adapt to team and get more involved in gameplay, rather than seeing himself as the sole goalscorer who just runs to stay by the goalpost. This is the best way his skill can be maximized to favour the team.
@@samnewton6479 There has been quite the misconception that Haaland was just a goal scorer, but he was putting in quite a few assist at Dortmund.

I really thought Haaland would be the one taking the penalty, but man he's such a good role model. Mahrez and the lads did great 💪
It should have been him. Rodri wanted to take it for some reason and then Gundogan stepped in and said Mahrez was the one who should take it which is weird because Pep has said Haaland is the first penalty taker and he also took the ball and I am pretty sure he wanted to take it. Strikers needs goals to keep their confidence. Every one wants to take it of course when its no pressure by leading by 2-0, but tney should leave it to Haaland even if Mahrez scored.

I think Mahrez took it instead of Haaland because Haaland had a potential injury, the reason why he was subbed.
