Right with ya on this one I got a few lol . Slash . rustler. Stretch rustler. Lcg slash or drag slash. Currently thinking about rebuilding the backslash . Never ran a locker but heard the blue one is junk but the black version does the trick . Good call on either shaft you mentioned . MIP for the 4x4s nd those hd shafts are awesome provided you have arms that don't interfere . My stretch rusty is the speeder . Setup is 18 / 38 mod1 . 134 on 6 with GRP . Total beast . Good luck bro!
Thanks for watching! 👍 Interesting, maybe its because the Bandit has slightly different drive shafts (smaller). My kids have a couple of bandits. On my last vid I mentioned some of the differences between the two cars. The much shorter a-arms was one of them. Since this vid, I have returned to having normal slip diff effect. I found out why the car was really spinning out at take off & during punch acceleration. I have a recent vid that covers issue & fix. I'm currently running a Hobbywing Ezrun max8 w/2200kv motor. And she's running nice & straight now.
Thanks! 😎 👍 They lasted longer than the stock, but still broke. I later replaced them with a hardened steel version, by MIP. I snapped one of those too lol. But, to be fair, it wasn't the shafts fault. It turned out to be a seized bearing that was causing the axle to overheat & snap. Once I replaced the bearings (ceramic hybrids) I never had a problem again.
Hello !!!! Have a Question !!! On the Extreme Heavy Duty Drive Shafts, You think will fit with a 90t Spur Gear , Because they are bigger will they Touch or make friccion the Yoke and the Big Spur Gear ??, Thank You !!!
Thanks for watching & sub'n! 😎 👍 Unfortunately, I never ran a spur that large. This car was set up for speed runs, I was running mod-1 gears. Your best bet is to go to the Traxxas official website. They have live chat support. You can ask them & they should be able to answer your question. Thanks again for watching! 😎 👍

@@rcceaserleo2875 nice!... Curious, what were u using for ESC on your speed run rustler to go w the 2200kv? I'm debating between the castle mmx or the mm2, as far as i can see, the only difference is that the monster 2 is not sensored
If I buy only one (bc only one broke) of the heavy duty and put it on the back of my 2wd rustler will the tires spin at different speeds bc one is heavy duty and one isn’t?
They come in pairs when you buy them. And yes, I would advise that you replace both to keep things even. And if you broke the one on the pinion/spur gear side, then the hard one to replace would be done & the other side will seem like a walk in the park to change, since it requires less part removal lol.
Hi Caesar, sorry I just noticed that my reply to your question never posted, weird. I have since thus post upgraded my system to a Hobbywing Ezrun max8 /2200kv combo & an Integy gear box. You can check out my later videos. Anyhow, I actually went back to an unlocked diff after realizing that my spinning out issue was due to the HR sealed diff case being too wide for the integy gear box causing it to bind internally, which also caused my diff gears to shred. I had to file down the sides from the diff case by about 1/32" each side. This tweak along with replacing all the gear box bearings with Fast Eddie sealed ceramic bearings solved this issue. She nows takes off pretty smooth & straight as long as i warm up the tires first.
This setup I have is definitely for high speed road use only, on dirt or grass this would probably blow up any off-road tires & or tranny gears. This setup requires good grip belted tires.
Hi, thanks for watching 👍 That was a Castle creations 3800kv brushless motor. I currently have a Hobbywing 2200kv motor in her at the moment. Much more power now, I have pushed her to ~1700 watts, almost 5 HP!!
This was 3yrs ago, this was the beginning of my speedrun venture lol. I managed to get this car on 6S to ~87mph, which ended up in a nasty crash. I snapped a rear MIP axle. I moved to Arrma after this crash lol. Now I have pushed 135mph on my limitless. But I just modded an old traxxas bandit I have & just pushed it to 79mph on 3S at about half throttle lol 😂. What I have learned is that a lot comes down to the batteries, if they can't dump the power (amps) requested by the ESC/motor, gearing up can actually slow you down & also ruin your lipos. You want to make sure your voltage doesn't drop below 3.2v during voltage sag.
Lol, I had issues with the locked diff so I ended up going back to unlocked mode & used Lucas high temp X-Duty marine grease. Funny, I didn't have an issue with those axles snapping & I ran them with a 2000kv paired with the Hobbywing Max8 150A ESC, running on 1:1 ratio (34T/34T). Tons of speedruns with that setup. It wasn't until I put the mamba mamba x that I finally snapped an axles. I then upgraded to the MIPs & still snapped an axle. It turned out to be the bearing, they were shot & causing the axle stud to overheat & then snap. I have upgraded to ceramic bearings since, much better!

I meant to say, that as long as the pinion gear hase more teeth than the pinion. It will run hot, but fast.
Im new to rc you see those red metal poles above it what are they called? Mines are plastic and break very easy

What compound are those grps?
Hi, thanks for watching 👍
Those are S5 compound. I have since then upgraded to Contact GT8 foam tires, much much better road grip.
Those set screws back out and then the axle just spins in the diff case, tried red loctite
I used red loctite and haven't had them back out yet. Going on 2 months now. I let the loctite sit for 2 hours before I started driving
The mip r very nice to use for the drive shaft. But wen u put the 22ookv on u will need the mip
