- This vlog covers week seven of using Mounjaro, on a dose of 5mg. It's a tough week, I felt so tired!!
Follow along with me as I share my experience (as a 30-something guy in the UK) of using Mounjaro to finally lose weight once and for all.
I am using Mounjaro (a GLP-1 weightloss drug, also sold as Zepbound in the USA) to support my weight loss journey, and I am sharing all the highs, lows and details no-one asked for through these videos!
The mounjaro medicine comes in a kwikpen here in the UK and each pen contains four weekly doses, starting with a loading dose of 2.5mg.

Don't take the pen, delay the injections so when you travel to be your 3-4 day if possible.
I had my first 5mg. No side effects. I'm so happy. Now the weight goes slowly then at the beginning. But i think it's better for the skin.😊
Yes, the first week or so I always find the weight drops quickly. Hope 5mg continues to be positive for you. I've got another week and then I'm starting on 7.5
Thanks for sharing. Can sympathize with the dog afraid of thunder (and fireworks), thankfully summer is officially over! My husband is from the UK (we live in US) and he loves his curry. I have noticed the last few weeks our weekly curry dinners are very hard to handle the spice now I am taking zepbound. Full on heartburn 😫 I love spicy food so much, but I may have to give it up 😢
Oh yes, whilst in Florida we said how we couldn't live there because of the daily thunder and how Harper would not cope! 🤣🤣 Bless him.
I do like some spice in the food but I've never been able to handle very much 🙈 but now, with the slower digestion it does seem to repeat on me more than before.
defo feel it in the stomach, wasnt keen. Leg all the time! :)
Yeah, I didn't see any benefit in the effects for the week, if anything maybe slightly less noticeable than in the leg, so I've gone right back to leg now!

I usually do abdomen but did my arm last time and OMG the side effects 😂🤢😩😂 they were so much worse! X
Oh really? I haven't tried my arm and to be honest I don't think I will, especially after hearing your experience!! Hopefully the side effects have subsided for you by now and all ok?
@@robcadenelkins2 better today… I have two weeks left on 5mg so going to do abdomen next week and back to arm the week after because Im a glutton for punishment and I’m nosey at what it will do 😂😂😂

Would be interesting to hear how you get on with your holiday and not taking it exactly 7 days after your last one. If you still don't feel any crazy hunger pangs on day 8 or 9, I wonder if that's another way to stretch out the cost of these things. I'm on Wegovy and due to take my dose tomorrow but I don't feel any hungrier today than I did on day 1 of this weeks dose.
Also I started in my stomach, not sure why, so its never been an issue for me there. I'm not a fan of the back of the arm, more just for the awkwardness of it all. I've not really noticed any difference with how I feel after different injection sites.
Your killing it with all this exercise though. Good for you Rob. I'm almost into another week and its been another week of not doing enough exercise. Considering doing the charity thing in October for Prostate Cancer, 1.5 miles a day for 30 days.
Yes I had wondered about stretching it out, although I think the official guidance is to use the pen once first punctured within 30 days? Personally I'm probably quite relaxed with that guidance and would consider taking a dose a few days more than 30, but not recommended or promoted (don't sue me anyone!!)
Back of the arm feels like too much coordination is needed, id probably end up sticking it up my nose or something 🤣🤣🤣
It's my 2-nd week, i am at the beginning still,but you was one to push me to start,your vlogs are so motivational,please do more often vlogs Rob 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ahhhh well it's definitely an individual choice and I wouldn't want to "sell" it to anyone, but at the same time hopefully sharing my experience helps others to feel able and informed.
We are just back from holiday, so I have a few videos backlogged to edit and upload over the next week and then will be more caught up and more regular postings (I hope!!)
There are some cool refrigerated containers you can purchase. I think they have thermometers on them. Not sure how long they last for.
Oh yes, I was looking at some of these on Amazon. I liked the one with a thermometer but also found one that was more like a thermos and stays cooler for longer, which I ended up ordering. It didn't completely solve the problem but definitely useful to have
Hi Rob, I missed a week's dose when I went on hol. I still felt it was in my system and didn't notice I was any hungrier. It takes 30 days for Mounjaro to fully leave your system. Really enjoying your vlogs xx
Oh that's good that you still felt the benefit and were hopefully able to enjoy your holiday? I'm on 5mg (second pen of it) but have not felt any real noticeable effect or benefit, im feeling ready for the next pen soon!
