Hmmm. It looks like you put a bit of a bow in the shaft of that gas strut.
yep could have put it a bit straighter i think ..just rushing to to do the video ...still the same principle applies.
Wouldn't be easier to release the other gas strut and mount both again. No need to compress anything. You may have damaged the gas strut when you bent it.
PLEASE for the love of god do not do this.... this is how people die. Get a professional to do it, don't use ratchet straps.
