Hey, I am just wondering if it is possible to use a mirror film for the bottom as well? A custom cut standard mirror for the size I am looking, is just way to expensive
Sure you can, a mirror is a mirror. If you don't want the other side to be see trough or let light in you can just paint the transparent side black and it'll be just like a regular mirror. A mirror is just glass (or acrylic) painted with aluminum (or some other light color metal) then a layer of black paint on top of that. Only difference will be if the film is less reflective than metal in which case you might get a slight drop in the infinity effect, but I doubt it'll be very noticeable.
Are there any examples of this technique being used to make a pickguard for a guitar? I expect that in order to fit the light strip between clear plastic sheets holding the film, it would be necessary recess the face of the guitar to make space for the thickness of the assembly.

I can see that you really are working on improving your presence in front of the camera. Your hands are a little distracting though and I find your lack of blinking a touch too unnatural. I agree. This is a video I can watch all day ( voice, accents, intonations and mannerisms) are leaps and bounds an improvements against the Hydroponics video.
