not a Quins fan myself but love to see performances like this… sometimes they take a while to get started but their play is electric! can’t believe Bears were 21-0 up and then lost spectacularly… felt like i was watching the semi finals again!🤣
Smith is undeniably international standard, he's ready to play for England this World Cup cycle. He's a force of nature!
The thought sends a shudder down my spine, in regards to Ireland having to deal with that in the 6 Nations. But watching him do that on the International stage would be brilliant. Marcus Smith has matured so much so fast in terms of game control, and he plays the game the way you want to watch Rugby being played. He completely deserves a shot, and maybe Danny Care gets a call as well.
He was ready last year, he was ready for the Lions..... hindsight is a wonderful thing.
I have been watching Smith since junior level. He is becoming an outstanding player and yes, he is more than deserving for Internationals however, what position would he play? The Farrell inside centre experiment was simply stupid and, Smith has no build to be playing there?
@@jep1912 Got one midweek game, put in the best 10 performance of the tour then never got played again. You've got to question the logic of the selection.
Maybe Eddie Jones was right not to pick him before. If he’d been picked before then he’d get a massive fanfare and if he’d had a poor game then he could go backwards. He’s now got a lot more credit in the bank from his PL experience and is a much better player. Maybe same with Dombrandt.
It's like Raducanu in tennis, Smith just grabs the attention and makes people who haven't watched rugby for years want to see him play
Sarries, Exeter take note. This is how rugby should be played. This is what the fans want to see 😍. Dont support either team. But this is just class 👌
Teams should play rugby that wins them games. If the Sarries way wins them couple titles in a row then they must play that way. If Quins is the way then that is the way.

@@theultimatesharpshooter6734 fair point than world rugby take notice. This is how rugby should be played. Send directives out to enforce the laws constantly broken by big physical teams that form piles of humans off their feet until they score rather than play rugby.
@@canadiancontent352 You make it seem like playing rugby any other way is wrong. If you enforce that then you get kicking because rucks will be too risky. (Which judging by your comment you probably hate kicking)
@@TappCorporation you need to distinguish between what they did off the field as compared to what they did on the field to win games, they won in the field because they had an effective game plan that over a season won games, if there game plan remains sound then why should they change
I really enjoyed the commentary in this game, it was really fun to listen to. Austin Healy being compared in size to a guinea pig. Haha, and then all the points they made about the different plays were right on point. Really good.
Who remembers what we used to chant at Austin from the East Stand all those years ago .. 'you'll never play for England' 😆😆
Kiwi here. Love the style of play from Bristol early on in the game. Must say that halfback of theirs is crazy good with his passes! Reminds me of a young Aaron Smith. A dart out of breakdowns. Bloody great game from both teams!

Bristol fan here. Gutted to lose again, but you have to take your hat off to Quin's....... the total exuberance in which they go about their business is infectious! Well deserved winners(and champions)!

I've been to a lot of Quins games at the Stoop but the atmosphere in that second half was something else!
Watched the full game live and it was perhaps one of the best rugby matches I have ever seen as a neutral.
No team in world rugby is playing a better brand of rugby than Quins right now

Amazing quins..it all started 3 years ago. Very impressed with the coaches and spirit of the team.
There are many matches I watch and wonder why, as it concentrates on a series of penalties. Harlequins once more bring me back as to why I love the game.

Bristol kicked amazingly in the first half. At half time pat obviously told them to keep the ball in hand which completely killed the attack.

What a cracking match! Smith and Esterhuizen should really be playing for their respective national teams. I know de Allende is proven quality, but I think Esterhuizen deserves a second look. A wrecking ball with a pinpoint pass.

@@scottiramage317 He’s a funny guy, but doesn’t have the tools for serious rugby analysis. Monye and Care are both intelligent and capable of carrying the show, Ashton is the entertainer.

Marcus Smith plays like a wily veteran. He plays as if he is someone who late in their career may have lost a step or two, so makes up for it with incredible play and savvy. The thing is, he is only 22. Bright long career ahead of him.

Argentina targeted him like crazy that day. At that point they were like 3rd in the world.
The irony is, if he had 11 on his back, he would have caught most of those. His all-round skills were really good. Defensively he was one of the most solid wingers about. It should have been an easy switch to make. I remember thinking it made sense.
