Splendid. Beautiful choir singing in a wonderful cathedral. This introit was composed by Australian born William McKie for the 1947 wedding of princess Elizabeth now Queen Elizabeth II. Sir William was Westminister Abbey's Organist and Master of the Choristers
We are going to sing this piece for Candlemas this Sunday, 2 Feb 2020. So I thank you for posting this, because it really helps me to be able to practice at home! I'm in the USA, so I'm amazed at how ancient the cathedral is. The video of the candles burning is wonderful, as well as the video showing the choir members.
Those who enjoy this might consider joining the Facebook forum "Great Boys' Choirs of the World" to experience a wide variety of boychoirs, soloists, and their music.
Welcome to TH-cam, Ely Cathedral!
+Archive of Recorded Church Music Thank you, it is good to be here!
