Do you remember those poles Ed took? I think there was 4 of them & it seems there was no real reason for asking, Ed was just wonderin' what everyone would say. LOL! One of his questions was something like what would you rather see in the next game? a. Something like Shaolin Monks. b. A conquest mode? c. & d. if there was one, I can't remember but the shaolin monks answer got the most likes with conquest mode coming in second so, like I said...I dunno why he was asking cause we got Invasions instead. 👿
As a Nitara main, I am HYPED. Nitara can be pretty sick if she’s played at max potential, but she def has gaps in her strength. Fingers crossed for normal health!
her health is fine, it's a fair trade off for Blood ritual, she has higher effective health than any other character in the game if she uses blood ritual. Her problem is that she struggles to open people up, her low is reactable and her overhead is even more reactable and her rage is very low, so opening people up is VERY difficult for her.
They should bring back brutality training

In my opinion, I love kameos but I think a standard 1v1 would bring people back and have more options for gameplay kinda like Fortnite has regular and zero build and are both appreciated

They could’ve just did 2v2 like they did with MK9 and even then they can still function like kameos cuz in mk9 if u lightly tap the swap button, it won’t make u swap with ur partner and instead it’s ur partner doing a quick attack (fighting community it’s called an “assist”) so they basically half assed the 2v2 and made kameos which was dumb because less characters fully played and only doing assists when we all know 2v2 could do both (functional partner and function like a kameo by doing kameo attacks/assist)
People keep missing the point that the kameo system as much as it sucks was only implemented into the game because WB cut a massive amount of dev time from nrs otherwise we probably would've had a 1v1 as base or an actual tag team mode
So we are buffing Nitara gameplay why not just buff her voice lines as well

I agree unfortunately they could have push back release 4-6 months and had 90% of the game ready. We shouldnt be waiting/hoping for something like pit and friendship a year later in a mortal Kombat game.

For a while NRS had gone radio silent and we had no idea what was going on. One of the things that is really nice is how much they are communicating now. Very excited to find out what is in store for Mortal Kombat 1.
I would absolutely love a 1 vs. 1 mode being brought in to the game. I don't know how it would work as Kameos are so integral to the game play but surely there is a way.

You want to play as half assed characters with 3-4 specials and no normals or strings?
Really hope they make another Q&A feedback after Takeda’s release because there might be some newer things we would like. Remember when people said the game flow/movement was too slow? How about we add a new feature that gives us an small boost in speed for the final round or boost the dash distance, maybe even include dash canceling in the tutorial mode?
The problem is that people will never be happy, and this comment is a big example of that. You literally dont even know whats in the update yet and youre already asking for another game changing update. The reason this is especially a problem is the fact that nobody in the fanbase wants the same thing, and when players do agree on something its usually something that is completely implausible (like expanding the roster to be the size of smash bros).
@@bumgop yeah, people won’t ever be entirely satisfied but what can you expect when communication is very slow? You’re right about not knowing what we’re getting but we know that it’s coming soon, so is it bad to want another Q&A after the first wave of content is out? A lot of opinions change over time so who knows if there’ll be a point where people will think “I’m not sure what we can ask for” but still have mixed feelings about the game as a whole.
People not liking kameos has less to do with how they function mechanically, and more to do with how they take focus away from key features and content typical in a Mortal Kombat game.
People requesting more is because the Mortal Kombat fanbase will always default to wanting more characters. It's a character-focused community and has been since vanilla MK3 came to arcades.
I agree with this for the most part. The kameo mechanic is just not a great enough of a replacement for having actual fighting players. I feel like they cheated me out of a lot of playable characters. Also, I hope people realize that this tag team based gameplay is in Ed boons mind just like Naruto and dragon ballz and the other fighting games that allow for assist and I feel like he thought it would turn some of those players head in mortal kombats direction....
@@teedms3149you do realize that these characters wouldnt be fully playable, regardless of the kameo system, right? The kameo system, as the name implies, is essentially a way to add additional special moves to characters while also paying respects to the characters that didnt make the cut. The alternative would simply be not having kameos based on previous mk characters. Nobody is being "cheated" out of having fully playable characters, because kameos arent supposed to be looked at as characters. At their core, theyre just a new way of introducing variations

Most criticisms of kameos ive seen are focused on the fact that certain kameos can kill the pace of the gameplay by making unsafe moves safe, which was an intended part of the design of certain kameos (kano being the main one). Another problem is that people think of kameos as backup fighters, making it essentially a 2v1 if one player isnt as good with them. Thats the wrong way to look at it. I used to dislike kameos because i felt like it added a layer of complexity that made casual gameplay too hard to enjoy, but once i realized that kameos are basically just a visually fancy way of giving characters extended movesets, it all became way simpler.

@jeffpaez1997 imagine thinking the resources to make even 10 kameos is comparable to the resources of making a unique, balanced, fully fleshed out character. Not only that, but a bigger roster means a less balanced roster since every minor change on one character would have to be evaluated based on its effect on every other character. Thats why games like smash ultimate have such terrible matchup charts.
Even then, do you think getting rid of the kameo appearances in exchange for two or even three new base roster characters would be worth it? Hell, even with the kameos we still have people whining asking for the most obscure characters to be added to the game. At least with kameos we can see modern adaptations of even the most minor characters, even if they arent fully fleshed out characters.
one thing. the poll on more kameos doesn't mean people like the feature, just that out of the 3 options (2 of which being kameo related) that was the best option.
I think mkx style "test your luck" or something similar would be cool. I play mk significantly more than anybody else i know, so usually friendly matches are kind of dull since nobody has fun in lopsided matches. The test your luck game mode was always a good way for me to throw a wrench into the gameplay to even it up a bit more.
Having female cyber characters reminds me of the Murokumo units from Blazblue.

I still to this day want a buff to the uppercut not the damage. I want a noisy, screamy and boomy uppercut like the original games. It was one of the coolest things about MK back in the day that they changed.

I saw at some upcoming competition that several much older games have more people entered in their respective competition as opposed to MK1.
Why is that?
I get all the costumes from the store (that don’t cost the crystals) whenever the new “season” starts, but I don’t play online because I’m not good enough.
I’ve maxed out all kharacters and kameos, but I only play to get the new outfits.
Well, you sorta answer the question a little bit. You're not playing it either and you're not competing.
Some people just put the game down. The game is a little stale, meta wise. You run into the same matchups a lot, and if you're not playing online there's not much else to do if you already beat the story.
People aren't entering at evo for lots of reasons, but the biggest reason is probably just how rushed this game feels. Like 2 offline modes, one of which is the story. The other one almost objectively sucks.
And online we got Ranked, Casual, King of the Hill... and some weird mode that like... has been coming for like a year now.
The game isn't being given the love it deserves and the fans feel like going back to mkx or mk11 is more worth it because those are actually finished products.
@@owlflame I guess I figured that the real serious players would move from MK11 to MK1, and enter the competitions.
My guess is that they are not attracting NEW players who want to put the time in to become good enough to enter the competitions.
Maybe the Kameos make it too hard to master? I don’t know.

It's just like speedrunning. A game doesn't get a big speedrunning community if no one wants to play it.
A fighting game doesn't get a big competitive community if no one is getting won over either. Why would you keep playing a game that just has online ranked and is a bit of a buggy mess? (crashing issue for a few months, other big bugs with other characters for a few months, ect.)

I’m older, so I remember playing against others in the arcade- standing right next to them- quarters on the cabinet to call “next.” 🤷♂️

There are so many different rumors that be going around about guest character DLC the creeper from jeepers creepers, John Hancock Shazam and Black Adam and not to mention Ikaris I would actually love to see all of those characters. I wish somebody would make a video of what that would look like if they were DLC.

We need konquest and the mini games to return as well as create a fighter. Hopfully we get a lot more fighters in the second year and maybe they are able to do a third year with another story expansion and Kombat pack then the big question is will we get IJ3 or MK2?
Personally I get a bit angry when I see some of my favorite characters become Kameos, however even this is better than not having them at all, If the synergy keeps getting better and better between characters, it will be cool.
They should give reiko a blood god special transformation or move
As a lifelong Baraka main, this was the FIRST game he was considered top 5 at launch, and he's been very mid tier ever since, and he NEVER gets new buffs or moves to keep him viable
It’s always male to female. Never female to male. For example in the last chapter in story mode all the gender swaps are from male to female, but you never fight a male Kitana or male Melina. Not even a male Casie cage.

There are far more men in this game than there are women. It'd make no sense to take away female characters just to add to the male roster.
@Epilogue- Speaking of sense, I would rather have new cool characters come about with the influence of Liu Kang's Era than a gender swap recycling.
@@ink66 I mean yeah, the problem is there is no winning, if they were to come up with a new character, a lot of people would be upset that old ones didn't make it. It's a lose-lose sadly. My point still stands though, swapping a woman to a man takes away the smaller representation female characters have, and making cyrax and sektor stand apart more honestly makes sense.
@Epilogue- Ye I'm not rooting for gender swaps for either gender I would rather have the character themselves. But I get what you mean.
Would be awesome if we could have another Armageddon roster, but that would probably be hell to balance.

My fave thing in mk11 were the towers with the unlockable cosmetics thats what kept me to the game so long mostly (plus the abnormal amounts of combinations and playstyles one could do with various moves).
To be honest, I don't think most MK1 players want more kameoes, I just think that most people who don't like the kameo system are casual players that don't waste time on X "Twitter", so most players probably didn't even vote.

If they can disable the kameo feature and let it be 1v1 with the new modes, that will be a huge improvement.
About "people don't llike Kameos but still choose them" - yes, we don't like the system and would rather they put more energy into 1v1. But if we're stuck with it, the least they can do is make more options and balance them properly to better let people express themselves. Right now it's the same old, same junk and it's boring af.
Think they'd ever consider giving us a flawless block attack like in mk11? I really liked the technical aspects of mk11 even if the combos could be really lacking at times. I feel like we'd see some really crazy comebacks in matches where someone makes a great read and is able to punish it with a flawless parry of some kind.
Maybe get rid of the kameo system and give us a true mk game without the cheap non skilled gimmicks
It would be cool to actually do tag team or tag player. Like when you play online in the kombat league, be able to partner with someone for the win (and vise verse)
I just hope if we get more kameos, one is Sheeva. Like she was a main character since mk3 and i feel she added to the alt timeline as more of a neutral force, as well as her being a villian/female counterpart to Goro(adding more depth to the Shokan race imo) in the og timeline

That won't happen. They'd have to develop movesets and intros and so much more for the kameo fighters. Too much work for almost no return
@@zakcat5175it can be more simple. The intros and outros are already there, tag mode probably only use two fighter roster and no kameos, the specials already are in every fighter to use as support and the online probably wont be much serious as normal ranked.

I like kameo mode but I think it heretical they don't have a 1v1 mode that plays just as well as with kameos. There's a few aspects this will affect. First of all, I've always felt there should be more than 2 throw/grab moves as well as a more diverse & extended combo lists that aren't all typically 3-hitters, but the forward throw being a universal shove, unless they are going to add more throws on to of that, doesn't cut it. They will have to create fatal blows for each character that doesn't involve another character too. But every character should have a nice selection of combo starters with a nice selection of which direction you want to take the combo. Stringing together 1 to 3 hits followed by a special move & another special or additional normal attacks....thats great & should be a part of our arsenal but I want a better combo list for all characters. They've been way too limited for many years now & I'M SICK OF ONLY HAVING 3 HIT KOMBOS! Yeah, there's a couple 4 hitters here & there but a short list of simplistic 3-hit combos dominating the moves list has been old for many, many years. Moto Kombat? Chess? The fvck you smokin'? Nobody wants that! LOL! Kreate-a-karakter? FVCK YEAH! A legitimate tag team? FVCK YEAH! 1v1? FVCK YEAH! Mario kart & chess? Are you trying to kill MK? Because that's how you kill MK. LOL!
Tag mactch and single player
Every character should be good even if we don’t play them cos tough opponents are often fun, albeit sometimes frustrating, challenges. The key is to overcome the frustration 😊
People would go nuts if NRS adds Tag Mode in MK1

It could set back a lot of things if it becomes real. Just imagine if players are given between a second partner for a tag in or a kameo to assist you, more people would choose the second partner and that’s not mentioning how it would work.

Gamers like options. MK9 had optional tag mode so kameos should be optional. I bet some players would like tag just so it increases the chances to fight a greater variety of characters, and some players thrive on tag games.

All I want is...
1. No more stupid guest sh*t
2. Return of krypt that either replaces invasions(or a complete rework) or as a new edition
3. More than 1 gear piece per kharacter
4. 1 vs 1 on ALL modes with kameo sh*t being able to turned OFF COMPLETELY, INDEFINITELY... On ALL modes, so people like me who absolutely DISPISE kameo trash doesn't have to bother with it or forced to see them on ANY fight. Thats right. Put them as OPTIONAL.. NOT REQUIREMENT.
5. unlimited konsumable space, like they did on MK11... that you can carry multiples of each Konsumables without limits...
6. More new skins rather than boring color pallets... AND as FREE... NO MORE charging... Look at the games like Stellar Blade, where everything is FREE, NO MICRO TRANSACTIONS...
If all the above are addressed, I will definitely say it will be saved...
Kameos should be fully playable as well:). All characters can either be playable or kameo:) and the other way around. All kameos should be fully playable with story’s after finishing a tower:).
Am I the only one who thinks that Geras is balanced because his damage can be crazy but it’s not easy to actually learn
BRUTALITY DEBATE :
Please tell them to remove that slo mo animation when someone wins the game it messes you with combos that end with brutalities they can just bring that after someone drops the combo. Its annoying and then bring back brutality training.
How about "hit for hit" mode. To stop the alienating of the majority of players who can't do long thread combos, this mode allows short combos, but focuses on actual back and forth play!
This and final fantasy games is why I even want a PS5. I'm super excited for the future of mortal Kombat 1

They need to make Jax playable. It’s frustrating how Boon always makes updates to the “standard” characters like scorpion. It’s almost like he keeps disregarding Geras ..we would love some to get updates from him, like they do scorpion, Cage, and sub zero (attire, buffs, moves, etc)

Considering how Frost has the ambition to become greater than Bi-Han (as shown in the intro with BH and Shao), it would make sense for her to submit to the cyber initiative and earn the title of Sub Zero if Noob turns out to be the new timeline’s Bi Han.
@@idfkimaclown cyber initiative is not gonna happen... Its just an armor and Shao's statement means nothing except that Frost is coming. She is even mentioned in the expansion.

Kira or kobra will be a good Kameo too cause they brought Mavado back. As a reiko and kung lao player, reiko needs a big buff and new move cause he doesn’t do a lot of damages. It’s pretty much a nerf character so NRS needs to take care of him.
They Should put more creativity on Reiko.... Like New special moves and Combo... Reiko is Badass & brutal 😅.

Kameo characters need to be playable for a bigger roster third fatality for each other including guests stage fatalities
