    One of ways to improve sleep quality is to improve movement quality. Our body often gets stuck in habitual patterns, which can create discomfort with certain body movements and positions including sleeping. Try these 3 simple stretches 3x/day to get your body out of habitual patterns and improve your sleep!

    Taro is the best teacher in feldenkrais. I do most of his exercises everyday, and I feel good.
    Before, when I walked my dog for 15mn, my glutes hurt. Now I can walk for one hour and they do not hurt anymore. Thank you kind teacher.

      yes please! i suggested these 3 seated exercises as chair exercises can easily be done during the day, but it'd be even better if you can do my spine and hip mobility routines in the morning and evening!

    Thank you taro! Do you suggest putting a rolled towel underneath our pelvis on the second exercise? Also I have a friend with a tremendous amount of chronic neck hip back pain and problems. She has never heard of Feldenkrais and I would like to introduce her to your work. Do you have a video link where you have some type of an introduction about feldenkrais and or your work ?? TY ❤

      @TaroIwamoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      welcome! for the 2nd exercise, placing a rolled towen length wise between two sitbones would facilitate side to side movement of pelvis and spine. This playlist would be excellent for people who are new to mindful movement practice: th-cam.com/video/aNACGmuSM5w/w-d-xo.html

    Do you have any videos about grinding teeth at night? I think it’s because I slept on my left side for so long it’s super tight and I can never get it to be not tight. I stopped sleeping on my left side but still grind my teeth on that side

    • @TaroIwamoto
      @TaroIwamoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Many factors can contribute to teeth grinding while sleeping, but i believe stress is often a big contributing factor. I recommend my breath awareness videos before going to sleep. Queting down the nervous system with breath awareness lesson and reducing sensory stimulation can be really helpful. Think about how we calm babies and help them sleep at night.

      Bruxism is the medical term. I agree with teacher- address your stress. If it’s causing a problem with your teeth then your dentist can make a shield which won’t stop you grinding but will protect your teeth from the results of grinding.

    Tell us WHY it will help?

    • @TaroIwamoto
      @TaroIwamoto  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      we unlike children move our body habitually and pretty much the same way daily , so we overuse some parts, and hardly move some parts. We carry and maintain those habitual muscular activities even when we are resting including lying in bed. Thus, allowing our body to move in non-habitual ways more often during the day can help reduce habitual muscle activities, and can make you feel more comfortable, and can help you rest more comfortably.
