This video saved my ***. I got the fully assembled version and thought I needed to do calibration but it erases the already configured calibration. I really didn't know what to look for in the first layer and giving me the reference point of "about 1mm" was exactly what I needed to know to start. Thank you!!!

can't wait for mine to arrive in on thursday. At the uni lab i have dmls sls sla and fdm by stratasys, haas and such major brands to play with, but this is my first very own 3d printer and i am excited like a child:) It took me 3 weeks to decide. I really can't wait even paid eur20 more to have guaranteed 2 day delivery:) I know the result will be far from what i've experienced with the big machines, but now i can wake up at 2am with some idea , draft it and have it ready in the morning. The choice was between Zortrax 3 and the Prusa mk3s and Prusa won by the waaay lower price , the great community built around it and the great vibe it has. And now it is miiiine!

I just bought this so I can build a Tesla turbopump which means I'm going to test if my concept* works AND I get to use my awesome new Prusa i3 MK 3 to replace my broken dishwasher nozzle at the same time!
Huzzah! Thanks so much Josef and the rest at Prusa 3D! You're a good eggs and I hope history has a page for your folks cuz you deserve it!
*Tesla turbo-pump will have a vacuum compressor intake before and after a Tesla turbine to suck the heat out of the water and hot air inside the dish washer resulting in faster drying/cooling without having to expend any extra energy besides what's already used to wash the dishes.
I mean I wanted to start with a (what might be a self-powering) turbofan instead but the wife told me it was either I fix the dishwasher or I'm on exclusive hand-washing dish duty for the house until I get that nozzle fixed so it's that while doing turbofan or put the tasks together.

You said that when you were doing the setup for the printer that if the z-axis is not in line with each other that they will go all the way up to make it so that they will be in line again. But the printer I have only went up a little bit and did not make them back inline again and the z-axis also kept pushing down on the heating bed when it was testing the z-axis and I did not think that that was right. Is there a way to make it so that it does not do that anymore.

Hi, I'm hoping to you clarify what you mean by "catches on the paper"? 3 of the calibration points the nozzles touches but does not drag the paper, the 4th it drags the paper a little, is that what you mean by catching ? The nozzle does not seem to be contacting the heat bed in that spot.

Hi, I have a Tronxy i3 printer which I understand is derived from your Prusa. I need help. I went to replace the broken X axis Limit Switch over a year ago, removed the original one that I had installed when I built the printer myself, but did not get around to installing the new one that I had waiting. It is a year later and I am now trying to install the new Limit Switch which is exactly the same, but the wires keep pushing into the Z axis steel bar. No matter how I try I can't keep the wires from jamming into the bar or behind it. the sleeves around the wires at the junction are very stiff and I am concerned about breaking them if I bend them too much. What am I doing wrong?? Please help as I am so baffled by it.

Anyone else seeing this?

I’m having a self test error y axis length, it will move the bed all the way forward no problem, then all the way back and then the belt starts to skip and grind... seems like the sensor expects the Y axis to be longer?.... but if I run XYZ calibration alone, no problems...
I have about 2 hours of experience in this field lol. But my first thought was weak tension.... but now idk. I’m currently printing the Triceratops Skull... no major issues that I can see(but I also don’t know exactly what I should be looking for either).

    I need help 😭
I were able to print 2 tiny pieces for the very fisrt time with my Prusa i3 Mk3s (pictures next messages), the filament was PLA Carbon fiber 1.75mm, but it took me a while to calibrate the printer, anyway, after 4 hours the job was done. But...
    Now i can't print.
I try with different kind of filaments, with the correct temperatures, and of course good calibration with every attempt, but now (after the one and only good impression) the nozzle drags (after .5mm more or less) the extruded filament on the print bed. So i can't print anything new after the first (and successful) try.
The firmware is up to date, every selftest is ok, every wizzard calibration says "XYZ calibration ok. X/Y axes are perpendicular. Congratulations!"
I have moved the probe in very different possible height, but the problem stays.
    Please help. Greetings from México.

If you've used carbon filled filament with the standard nozzle, you've very likely destroyed it. It's extremely abrasive and the standard brass nozzle won't last long with it (the manufacturers usually include such info with the printer, I'm pretty sure it's in the printer's Handbook too). Luckily nozzles are very cheap and if you also order some kind of hardned one, you can print abrasive materials such as the carbon filled in the future.
You can by the nozzle here:
      shop.prusa3d.com/en/26-i3-accessories-mk3s-mk25s-etc
or anywhere else as long as it's E3D compatible.
If you have any more problems in the future, use our 24/7 live chat support at shop.prusa3d.com, youtube is definitely not the best way to troubleshoot things :)

Thanks for this Josef, very interesting to know how to set up correctly. I was given a Prusa i3 (I think it may be one of the very first models. I’ve been replacing parts which were broken etc and it seems to be okay, except for an issue with the software. It is a 200mm cube print area, and I wanted to know how do I get the software to reinstall on the machine. I think it’s got a glitch in it. Any and all assistance is appreciated 😊

Bed Leveling (P.I.N.D.A test).

I'd sure love to see a i3 mark "Big" where it has a print bed of 300x300x400 minimum. I'd sell a kidney for that build size with this bulletproof tech!

Hi Joseph. Need some help. I’ve had the prusa i3 mk3s+ for about 4 years now. Suddenly when I try to calibrate it tells me the that fans aren’t spinning, yet they are. And tells me that there’s a self test error and asks me to fix the issue and tells me to continuously reboot. Can I get some feedback here as to how I should resolve this issue. I’m currently in Dubai so parts are difficult to get. but if we can get on a call or email I’d deeply appreciate it. I really want to solve this issue asap because I have an assignment I need to print something for asap.

So in the manual it says that the z calibration should not go below -1mm however at 9:35 the good is below -1mm. What should we do

We actually updated the manual a few months ago. This was true mostly with the MK2, the PINDA on MK3 can handle wider range of offsets: "The value should not exceed -2.000 mm. If you have to adjust it more (e.g. 2.500)..."

Thank you. I just got my mk2.5 kit done and the pinda has always been my issue. I'm experiencing slight curling on the prints now
