Laboratório da Julia I know you were writing this to Laura but I just wanted to say your not alone. Most of us makers feel that way. We just have to make things. I absolutely adore caveman Laura, just chopping and stomping and punching and kicking things... hitting stuff with 2x4s and doing karate on uncooperative pieces. I absolutely love it. We definitely need more of these violent build videos!
My grandfather taught German at the college level for a few prestigious institutions and sadly the only thing I remember is schweiß Füße. He has been gone for a number of years but this video brought back very clear memories of my beloved grandpa Chick. He bathed all summer in the pond next to my house with his life bouy soap and a tattered brown towel until the day he died. I was at his swimming spot recently and it has started to grow over, but the path to it is worn deeply into the bank of the pond by over 50 years of use. I am pretty sure you would have liked my grandpa, and I know he would have thought you were pretty awesome too.
I absolutely love that you start so many projects without a full plan in place. You give inspiration to many makers who have a hard time just starting, and give us permission to let imagination outweigh planning. Thank you! 💚💚

Even though I won't ever deed most of the things that you build, I still like starting my Sunday's watching your projects. You are one of the top 5 Makers in my book!
hi Laura, For more safety you can fix the plastic top to the metal chassis with some rivets along the lower edge of the plastic bin. And surely, later you'll fix the shower terminal to the great cap in the middle of the roof. What a great gift you have received from your neighbour: that policarbonate plate, here in italy cost around 50 euros or more (of course it depend on the thickness) per square meter! i'll see you on the next videos. Ciao!
Amazing. A good example how you can build something out of seemingly nothing (or a bit left over stuff) can’t wait to see the stove you’re going to build to heat up the water.
At my aunt&uncle's place in France, we made a solar hot shower. Piece of board of about 1m square, paint black (or black plastic over it), then make a spiral of black plastic garden hose over it, then a glass pane (in this case, an old window). Tilt the whole set such that it is at right angle with the (morning) sun. Connect one end to the cold water supply, other end to the hot feed of a shower tap (and connect the cold side to cold water as well!) About 15 minutes of sun was enough for a 3 or so minute shower, but if you let it heat up longer, the water was so hot you needed to add cold water. So you could do longer with the warm water.
Stove? Laura, you need a solar water heater! Just coil up some black tubing where it’s exposed to the sun- somewhere above the shower. Even a bucket painted black might do the job in summer. One piece of advice: Put some kind of caps on those vertical tubes (the cut tubes that were part of the water tank frame). Otherwise, they will fill up with water and the frame will rust out from the inside. You could stick little corks or pieces of rubber in the openings, or fill them with silicone caulk or that spray-in construction foam that comes in a can. Maybe you already did this, but I didn’t see it in the video.
Here in Portugal we use these containers all the time but.... we put one on top the other way around so it holds the (rain) water, paint it black and... within a few hours you got free hot water. (I myself just use a 15 liter antique bucket with a showerhead attached that is filled by a black hose on the roof). But the idea is simple and nice...
It reminded me of the shower I had at my grandmother's house in the interior of Minas Gerais. the shower was a bucket where hot water was placed. You gave me salutations now ... 😀 Me lembrou o chuveiro que tinha na casa da minha avó, no interior de Minas Gerais. a ducha era um balde onde se colocava água quente. Me deu saldades agora...😀

That all came together so well Laura. But I think it did because of your imagination and confidence. Great film. That nailer looked a bit heavy at the end though. They're fast fixing I know, but can't say I'd want one.
Small piece of critics: For this kind of showers it is better to make their height as small as possible as whole volume has to be heated very fast by hot water. Walls should be water and especially wind isolated as in windy weather it will be too cold. Best option that I have found is linoleum that is chip and stapler can be used to fixate it in minutes.

This would be extra cool if it were collapsible/portable. Perhaps with enough support to put a second tote on top for water? A two pallet, quick set up shower system.

I'm sorry you had to leave your previous shop after such a short time. You did a lot of work to fix it up. Last week when you described your bin storage system as being for a new studio, I felt like I'd missed an episode -- what new studio? Maybe I DID miss something -- I'm surprised you haven't talked about this move more. Ordinarily I'd say your financial arrangements are none of our business, but did you buy this new studio, or are you renting? The reason I asked is that you just drilled a bunch of holes in an OUTSIDE wall. The kind of wall the water is not supposed to come through. If you ARE renting, I hope you had the owner's permission! Good luck finishing the shower. I'll be interested to see what you do about the door. I guess you could make it out of pallet wood like the walls, with a classic Z brace holding it together. I also hope no Peeping Toms have access to the property -- there are some pretty big cracks between the boards in the wall.
Why use Torx screws instead of Pozidriv??? Also those battery-powered angle-grinder is powerful, but is it efficient too? How many batteries did you use for this build?
You'd be surprised how hot water can get from just 150ft of black garden hose and the sun. Even if you want the stove for non-sunny days consider solar...
You could make it a solar heated shower with a panel of black abs plastic pipe. I’ve seen videos of people making them to heat pools. Also on the base maybe get some more of those cement tiles you used for the foundation. Would be less slippery than a plastic base.
Why don't you run black hoses on the wall or roof to collect heat from the sun? When the sun shines you will shower warm. Or put the stove, inside the building, so the heat will be used to warm up the workshop too. You do great things, keep it up.
Brilliant creation, but aren’t you going to have to deal with mold and mildew growing in and around the shower being in that location more than you would if it was located inside?
Laura: Je weniger du genau weißt wie ein Projekt aussehen soll, desto ist dein Video interessanter. Macht weiter so. (Ist das inordnung mit dem duzen?)
You can get a tankless electric shower head cheap if you have a way to run electricity to you shower. I am building something similar but for inside my house. You might also want to put a wooden floor in the bottom so you are not standing on slippery plastic.
It very common her in greece for people to have a outdoor shower so they can rinse off when they get back from the beach. I'm looking forward to see how you heat your water. Because I don't like cold showers iver.
Since you use regular lumber and not the kinds rated for outside use, will you be waterproofing the wood part? By the way, I think it is genius to use one of those tanks. May just have to steal it for the new cabin.
I like the new video format. It's also nice to know that even the greatest makers have to use alignment calibration tools (hammers) and squint and pull funny faces when using power tools :) Guessing you might go for some kind of coiled copper tubing heat exchanger for heating the water?
My favourite thing about this video/build is how many times you just kicked stuff!! 😂😂 Was really nice to see you sketching and problem solving on the fly though. Great build!
in the summer, which is currently in germany, it is really a cool refreshment :) but yes, in the winter it might be too cold, but then you usually dont have visitors in an workshop, i think

I am the same that way, mostly put on my safety glasses when I am just about the finish, lol
Me, after six hours of using noxious spray paints and only half an hour from being done: "Right. The ventilator-"
I hate power tools and watching her just casually swing a rotary saw almost made me buke.
Safety squints engage
Really looking forward to the continuation of this build and your shop development.
So cool to see something awesome from nothing! Thank you for your videos, very inspiring!
Tolles One day project
Very cool. I would definitely add a wood floor insert.
super cool idea the outdoor shower, quick and easy but effective. Niceeeee 💚💚💚 I am very happy about your new shop. Best wishes and greetings
Nice work! Brilliant troubleshooting!
Loving all the cordless power tools❤️❤️❤️
Basteln mit liebe! Wie immer eine wunderschöne Projekt und ein großartigen Video! Danke!
We have a Zodi propane camp shower that works really well. We have to jail water in buckets, running water would be better.
My favourite thing about this video/build is how many times you just kicked stuff!! 😂😂 Was really nice to see you sketching and problem solving on the fly though. Great build!
Good start! Super work👍
You moved shop again?? But you just got all your tools and materials organised!!
Great project, but an outdoor shower could be a bit cold in the winter, Look forward to seeing the stove part.
in the summer, which is currently in germany, it is really a cool refreshment :) but yes, in the winter it might be too cold, but then you usually dont have visitors in an workshop, i think
and moeover, it may be heated 9:30 ;)
It really looks great.
Really a nice build. Welcome to your new shop.
A wonderful creative idea.
you keep amazing me, nice project and it gave me a great idea for a bush shower that i still need to build.
Hallo Laura! Diese Wassercontainer sind wirklich zu einer Reihe interessanter Projekte zu gebrauchen! Bin gespannt, was noch weiter aus deinem Duschprojekt wird! Viele Grüße, Achim
Great job on building your outdoor shower. You are very talented and keep up the great work
Yes, I like the New format. Nothing wrong with the old one, tho.
Looking good Laura! 👍🏻🚿👊🏻 ...... 😃 Excited to see your new space is already coming together, looking forward to seeing all that you do with it!
Great project. So creative. 4:37 Everything is a nail when you only have a hammer but everything becomes a hammer when you don't have one! : ) Aloha!
Please give us a tour of your new shop location, IT LOOKS SO COOL!!!!
