1. It's Asia's longest River Ropeway
2. It crosses over the Mighty Brahmaputra river. It's second widest river in the world after Amazon with maximum width of 20 kilometers and minimum width of 1.5 kilometers.
3. The ropeway is over Umananda Island(or Peacock Island) which is world's smallest inhabited river island.

61 is very young. Im older and I travel, though I dont take the rough and tumble as well anymore. Im retired so I just take it slower, stay longer in places I like and choose more comfortable forms of transportation and comfortable hotels. My wife and I will travel to India this winter and hopefully see a bit of Calcutta (Kolkota) and the East. Davud's videos are informative.

1. Great singers from Assam are Bhupen Hazarika, Dipali Barthakur, Khagen Mahanta, Dipen Barua, Jubin, Paban etc. Amongst them late Bhupen Hazarika was world famous.
2. Great writers are Biren Bhattacharyya, Lakkhinath Bezbaruah, Mamani R Goswami, Nalini Bala Devi, etc.
3. Famous players are Tayabun Nisa, Hima Das, Lovlina Borgohain etc
4. There are lots of famous temples in Assam. But most famous is Kamakhya temple in Guwahati.
