A Musical Tribute to the Beauty and Devotion of Southern Italy | Rhythms of Italy Documentary

In this third part of my documentary series Rhythms of Italy, I explore the rich musical traditions and associated rituals of the Vesuvius area in Campania, Southern Italy. I meet the musicians and dancers of Zi' Riccardo Le Donne della Tammorra and learn about how these traditions are preserved. I also attend the feast of Madonna dell’Arco in Sant'Anastasia where groups of pilgrims known as batenti come to worship a portrait of the Madonna with mystical qualities.
