People are soo mean. I love when you say “Wetten your hair”. Never change HB we can understand what you are saying.
People complaining about it probably can't even speak more than one language too😒..
He sounds like the Pennsylvania Dutch Mennonites, and I'm here for it.
Yes! Please don’t change!
They don't consider that there are people in this world who's first language isn't English
Your English is so good! It’s honestly almost a 100% correct. What you said wasn’t a bad way of saying it. Here in the US, we have so many dialect and accents. People say things differently everywhere. I can’t always understand what Irish and Scottish people are saying bc it’s so different. You should be proud of how you’re speaking.
Anyone who criticizes your English should have to learn Flemish.
Don’t stop saying “wetten your hair”. It’s so sweet. 😊
I’ve always been impressed with how great your English is…don’t listen to any criticism please
I agree. In my opinion, the point of language is to communicate. Clearly we know what he means, so it's successful. I understand trying to improve your skills in a language, but Hair Buddha communicates beautifully!
You should hear most of us trying to speak Dutch! 😊
We all know what he means
Wait, I love it when you say “wetten your hair.” I am a native English speaker, and while it’s not proper English, it’s clear what you mean. That saying could be your catch phrase honestly, it’s great. Don’t let the grammar police get you down.
HB your English “isms” are part of the charm of your channel. Ignore the haters. They should try speaking Dutch, then. Let’s see how they do. 😏
I've never had trouble understanding his meaning. Why must everyone speak perfect English? Ok-English is already good.
Totally agree! I think we should all say growth as gruth because it sounds so much better !
Just a reflection of some native speakers’ vanity and lack of respect. I’d say his accent is pleasant and the way he enunciates some words or phrases makes the videos accessible for English learners
This so much! I love it!
Yet some of the people who only speak english can't differentiate between "their" and "they". The irony of it all!😅😂
Who else spends years growing out their hair only to romanticise how it was when it was short, and then you cut it and you remember you sucked with short hair ?
Yesssss me too. The grass is greener on the other side. So I started writing down my honest feelings while I have short hair and while I have long hair. Realistically: both take styling and effort for me and I can't just roll out of bed looking amazing. 😂
@@KZesty Same. Turns out there's no hairstyle that instantly makes you look like a movie star with no effort.
The only celebrity look I ever achieved without effort with my short hair was Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka.
Ehm, no never done that 😊.
hehehe that's me everytime 😅
Nah I rock with short hair
Oh please hair Buddha, don't stop saying "Wettin your hair" I love you just the way you are...don't change!!!
I had hip length hair until I went through chemo 2 years ago. I had a hair Buddha haircut for a while. I used to complain about my hair, but I wish I had my long hair back, but at least I have hair again and it's well past the sticking straight up phase. 😅
Congratulations on getting through treatment!
Now you get to start out doing something new!
@u4riahsc I do! I went from my natural level 3 (think so dark brown that without sunlight it looks black) to level 6 copper. I could never color my hair when it was long because it would have cost so much money or taken about 16 oz of color and a whole 16 Oz bottle of developer.
Big hugs!
"I hope I will learn for the rest of my life" is such a beautiful mindset 💜✨
Being growth minded is a huge advantage in life. Employers look for this attribute.
It’s hard to be impulsive when you need to set up the camera and ring light first 😂😂
Don't worry about how you say things,we love how you talk,it's actually one of your charms, we also like to watch you for this! 😊✌🏻
I love when you say “ wetten it “ I find my self shouting that at the screen now
Me too! And ‘Fine sections!!’
I loved it when you said "wetten your hair." Grammatically, it makes sense, but, it's English, so many things do not make sense,. You can just say "wet your hair." But it's cuter if you say "wetten."
',,,,and her hair is lying on MY pillow' 🤣
I giggled at this one too 😂
Noooo! Please keep saying ‘wetten’! Everyone knows what you mean, I love the way you speak, it’s part of why I watch you! 🥰
Your charm is in being exactly who you are. I adore your English. Please don't change who you are because someone is jealous they don't speak a second language.
I love your content and I actually adore how you say wetten.❤
I do as well! I've accepted it as a charming part of his speech
Ditto!
I only think these things matter if you can't understand what someone means, and it was completely possible to understand what he meant.
Wetten your hair , wet your hair ; it all means the same thing ; and we all know that. A few nitpicking people . I like the way you talk , don't change .❤❤
I love when he says purple shampoo! I use it on my white hair and say 'purrrrpal shampoo' every time😅😅😅
I love how he says, “Tic Toc”
Do you get too much purple at your roots compared to the rest of your length? I recently tried using regular shampoo first, then doing the purple, starting with the length and just rinsing it through my scalp area for a few seconds. It seems better.
@@lilolmecj I switched from purple shampoo to Silveratti from Oribe
It is silver blue and never looks weird.
@@marykuettner752 thanks! After a bit I will go and see what I am using and reply. It is not super purple when I pour it in my hand, but really uptakes to my hair! Accepting/ going gray was so relaxing.
I love it when you say “ Wetten your hair”. I run around saying “ SECTIONS! SECTIONS!! To myself when I color my hair. LOL
It's crazy that individuals don't understand math. But, glad you said it loud enough for the back. 😂
Ignore folk talking shite about how you speak! Love you hair Buddah ❤️
I love how you say wetten your hair! We all knew what you meant. I like your language quirks, adds to the reactions 😊
Happy eclipse day! 🌞 Hair Buddha is back to help me through another dark and dreary day. Glad to see you back because I know you'll brighten it. Have a great Monday, Hair Buddha and friends. 🌞❤✨️
Have a wonderful day Trista
@@hair-buddha 🙃
I like when you say things like wetten your hair. You always get what you are saying across perfectly without having to say it in perfect English. It adds character to how you speak.
It is NEVER "just hair"... I agree with you, Hair Buddha! I love your videos!! 🙂🙂🙂
I personally like your little twists on English HB - wetten your hair is one I use on my kids when I brush their hair in the morning. 😂
You have an amazing grip on the English language . Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise but I appreciate your joy of learning ❤
The people that critique a non English speaking person for speaking English "incorrectly", probably also have a hard time differentiating between there, their, and they're. And are insecure a-holes. Love your channel Hair Buddha ❤❤❤
Aww i feel so bad that you had to explain yourself regarding the wet hair. Its so sweet that you want to improve your english but the majority of english speaking people dont speak Dutch...you do an amazing job ❤
There aren't many TH-camrs I will watch every video religiously.
You are an exception.
I braid my hair every evening before bed. I mostly in a dutch braid.
WETTEN YOUR HAIR! I love that!! Never change. You've given me so much advice through your videos. Thank you!
I Dutch braid my hair every night too. I have thick black hair and I don’t want it everywhere at night so it’s just easier to have it in a braid
I have fine dense hair and that's the same reason! I hate rolling around and pulling on it. So much easier.
His facial expressions are amazing
Your English is much better than my Dutch you do a great job I lived in maastrict for a while and alot of Dutch people speak English lovely people 😊
Anytime I'm tempted to mess with my hair, I hear Hair Buddha's voice in my head, beautiful accent, dialect, and all- and then I don't mess with it..... its saved me from being a youtube hair fail video 450x's over. Don't change a thing Hair Buddha❤️
I've been thinking about cutting my long hair (getting it cut - I have a fantastic hair dresses), but reading all the folks in the comments here about regretting going short or mid length after cutting their long hair has me reconsidering.
I'm definitely going to hit her up soon, though, to trim my bangs and refresh my layers
I had my hair to my butt, twice. First time I cut it under my shoulders but the hair was damaged by constand home coloring and by no real care anyway so it was better from all sides. But second time I had my hair to my butt and it was in way better condition and pretty. I was taking waaaay better care, stopped to use color eventually and was lucky it faded in a way it looked like reverse ombre with faded auburn-ish bottom half peeking through and seemingly naturally blending into my natural dark blond/light brown-ish hair in the upper half, I knew better styles, in short, my hair looked GOOD. And I came to the hairdresser and said take it under my chin. She didn't really want to but I did and I was very happy, no regrets. I loved how my face looked, my hair also looked way thicker than usual, I was different but the hairdresser did it in a way very suiting my face. Also it grew quickly, I feel that it got under my shoulders again so fast.
Former Torontonian here. So good to hear someone say it properly! 🇨🇦😁
Please ignore those rude nasty people that are telling you how to speak English!
As you've mentioned in the past you picked it up and didn't study it in school like your children! I love your English terminology!! It really adds charm to your channel!
I understand how difficult it is to pick up a language! Both of my parents learned English that way when they moved to Canada. I too learned a language that way, Finnish, because of all my trips to my mom's country. Sadly I never learned my dad's language of German.
Please stay the way you are!!!❤❤❤
How could you be tired of that beautiful, gorgeous, envious hair??? 💙. Edit: I'm crying 😢... Your hair!!!!!!!! Nnoooooooooooooo!!!!!!
It will make sense to you once you grew your hair that long. Some people love it, some people don't. If my hair surpasses a certain length, I always wear it in a knot, ponytail or braid because if don't like hair in my face.
My dream hair length and colour 😍
@@juliawackerI agree! It's beautiful until it becomes a burden. I can't stand my hair in my face either, so I always try to grow it but just cut it off again once it gets a few inches past my shoulders. Especially in the summer.
I have long hair, and honestly, its like a pet that I don't want to take care of, but am forced to.
It's so *hot* all the time, gets in my food, the list of complaints are many.
You can always braid it when you are going to sleep. That's what I do.
Thank you for saying "it's not just hair", as a woman who suffers from alopecia, it makes me so sad seeing this beautiful hair ruined just because...
This is certainly frustrating to watch.
Me too dear 😢...my childhood I had got thick hair but now I have alopecia very thin hair...its really painful 😢
My now teenager was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 3 years old. During his treatment he lost all his hair and even though we tried to help ease the trauma (I shaved off all my hip length hair) it stuck with him. He has been in remission for 8 years now but he won't cut his hair for nothing. He actually goes into panic attack mode at the thought of trimming it. His hair is down to his hips now and it's beautiful. It's true, for some people it's not "just hair."
@@leyapriya9323 I know... I finally started to use Minoxidil and it's been a lot better lately, but it's still not like before...
But it’s her hair, I’m sorry you’re going through that.
WET? NO! NO! Hair Buddha It'S wetten! WETTEN! Life will never be the same nor as joyful if you start saying wet instead of WETTEN! I could cry. It's part of what makes you so lovable. And if you stop saying cutted I will need sedating!!!!!!!
I love it when you say "wetten your hair!" but I can't fault your outlook on learning!
You know what, usually these people that are picky about the grammar of others, are those that only speak one language. You’re doing g great, J.
I love multilingual peoples twist on pronouncing phrases. I'm not only impressed that you think in one language and speak in another, I love the quirky phrasing.
I have a friend from Budapest, and my favorite thing she says is, " You better don't!" To her daughter. I will never say it any other way now. And I love "wetted your hair"😊
Girl shouldn't have done anything to her hair. It was perfect for her. Perfect color and haircut.
Wet or Wetten, we all know what you mean! Plus, hearing you say “Wetten your hair”, with your wonderful accent, makes my day brighter.
Wanting to improve your English is commendable but you communicate beautifully just as you are.
I used to be pretty good at languages when younger but didn’t maintain the skill. I think that the mental gymnastics involved in translating in your head then speaking a second later in another language and in a way that other people can fully understand is pretty incredible 👏
Please don't stop saying "Wetten" referrering to 'to make your hair wet'. We love this phrase & use it ALOT in our house!❤🤗
She had so beautiful hair!!!! 😭😭😭
I preferred her hair long. But to each their own. I have cut my hair from long to pixie a few times...years ago. I always regretted it. I cut it in a bob about 2 years ago (it was about 10 inches past my shoulders) I liked it for about 2 days and then I regretted it again. I want my long hair back!!! I'm letting it grow. I only trim the ends about every 2 months.
Sending extra wave of love for speaking up about ,,hair respect" Ive been dealing with hair loose for 9 years now, have literally bald spots. What's even more heartbreaking I had amazing long and thick hair. I have ultra safe and healthy hair rutine + derms medications and still struggeling. Please keep that in mind, like HB said, its not ,,just hair" 😢
Solar eclipse 🌘 and Hair Buddha what a day ❤️
If she watched so many people cutting their own hair surly she has learned not what to do? Hair Buddha ,I'am one of those people with super fine hair and it is thinning. I would be so thankful to have hair like hers. I love this channel and I adore you. You are so sweet and kind. You have a beautiful family. God Bless, Rebekah. OHIO
Every time I see one of these, I am so glad my Sister is a licensed Hair Professional.
Strengthen, lighten, dampen, shorten, brighten...
Not one English speaker would be confused by “wetten”.
I honestly wouldn’t worry about your English. You’re perfectly understood. There are so many irregularities. Who cares if it’s “perfect” or not when spoken as a second language?
(Us native speakers can butcher the language often enough anyway. ;) )
People that criticize our HB don’t have to watch 👋🏻. Never change , we love you just the way you are 💙
I'm desperately trying to grow my hair and here are all these people chopping it off like there´s no tomorrow......and her hair was beautiful, the length, the thickness, the color
We love the way you articulate things! We know what you mean and it's always great advice. You're also very kind with your assessments. I started watching during the pandemic and never stopped! ❤
I love the way you pronounce words in English. They might not all be correct but it is you and perfect. Besides, very very very few people that speak English speak it correctly. Very few.
As for the cut …. Yikes! The sound of those scissors cutting her hair was worse than nails on a chalkboard. She looks good with long and short hair but the short looks better on her face.
The look on your face is priceless! love it!!
3:45 I looooove this dejected look of Hair Buddha 😂😂😂 It's like he's silently saying "Gone case"🤪🤪🤪
hair Buddha is my favourite way to start the day
also I love it when you say wetten your hair it's become like your "tik tok" pronunciation it's iconic!
I’ve been cutting my hair since the pandemic. Going to the barber next week for the first time since COVID. My mother helped me to curl my hair and complained about all my layers. I can cut my aunts hair (and she loves what I do) since I can see what I’m doing at every angle but it’s hard to cut your own hair since you can’t see every angle of your own head. I can cut my hair, but it’s just not as good as what I can do for my aunt and what the barber can do for me. I can feel this woman’s pain since that’s kind of what I did the first time but with a razor. It didn’t look too bad, it was just very edgy and I looked emo lol but these things never go how you want them to especially on the first try. Anyway, Happy Eclipse Day, Hair Buddha.
NOOOOO! I LOVE 😂your way of speaking! Every time you say “You need to wetten your hair” 🥰🥰 I LOVE IT & SMILE! Btw- I do agree about learning.
I LOVE this channel....truly I learn a lot here.
I thought it was a charming blend of "wet" and "dampen" your hair.
Hip/thigh length hair here - I used to braid it before bed, but nowadays I just toss on a silk bonnet. No issues with it getting rolled on!
I love `wetten your hair` xox
I like “wetten” ur hair better to be honest, but anyone learning a second language should never apologise for a mistake its so amazing that your learning a second ❤ and love these videos 💕
She could braid her hair when she goes to sleep. She is such a beautiful girl with such beautiful hair. But I get it. It's hot and heavy. But at least go to a hair dresser when you really want to get it cut. Dutch speaker here too. From Holland though. 😄
Well, most of us English speakers know that "wetten your hair" is simply Hair Buddha's way of saying "get your hair wet." We know what you mean. I personally like it when those who speak English as a second language make grammatical errors. It adds a bit of "personality" to it. I'm familiar with Hair Buddha's way of speaking, and that's what makes it charming.
I'm sure Dutch and German speakers think the same about my imperfect way of speaking their languages.
She had so beautiful hair! Oh my...
I did this last week: cut my long hair to my shoulders, but I used hairdressing scissors and did small sections at a time. I started longer than I wanted and cut a bit of length off at a time til I was happy with it. Then I sectioned it, pulled it upwards and layered it a little. It turned out ok. I should've filmed it and put it on tiktok. LOL
Yes! New video from Hair Buddha! ❤🎉
I love how u say wetten! Don’t change that! 😊
Thank you for bringing up cancer. I lost all my hair and have a huge scar on top of my head. I’ll never have nice hair again and I had nice curly ringlets before. Now it’s just thin frizz no matter what I do 😢
I think you are perfect. Your English is great. I love watching your videos, I just wish people would listen to your knowledge from having a salon. I wish you lived in the states. 4:35
Ah no wetten the hair was the cutest thing ever 😢
Yay new hair Buddha video 👍
i could feel her hair screaming in agony while being butchered 😆
i've been cutting my own hair for like 15 years, but i always need help to get the back straight. it's physically impossible to do that while you're moving your head and arms around. Mom to the rescue!
Please please please don't stop saying wetten, I now use it! I learnt a very little Dutch (Flemish though) so it makes me feel nostalgic annnnnnnddddddd it's so freaking cute
She looked good with the bob cut. Suits her face. Love the video HB😊
I always love when you say wetten ❤
You can just say wet your hair 😊. But I like it when you say wetten your hair anyway! 😊
I love the way you say things never change ❤
Never stop saying wetten your hair!
If I had hair like that and wanted to cut it short I'd certainly be watching Hair Buddha videos prior to doing it!!
Good Morning All 💖💗💜
Great tips & thanks Hair Buddha 😊👍✂️
I've definitely heard "wetten" from the mouths of native English speakers so I kinda just see it as a testament to how fluent you actually are
Of course my Monday morning HB and coffee routine ☕️.
I’m extremely anxious about these dangerous storms coming this afternoon in East TX, so I’m happy to have a short distraction.
I am In Cape Town South Africa and we have also jad some violent storms since Saturday. One road along the coast had to be closed because of the wind. So much beach sand has blown across a very busy road making it impossible to use. Some schools closed cos the kids can't get there. It's WIIIIIIIIINDY with a bit of rain.
@@CurlyCrowie oh no! Sending prayers your way!
We are under a level 3 risk for storms, so high probability of hail (possibly up to baseball size), high winds, tornadoes, and flooding. 😫 starts this afternoon, and will go through Wednesday.
At the same time as the eclipse!?! Enjoy the amazing power of nature!
@@karenneill9109 it’s set to start right at the end of the eclipse, so everyone will still be able to see the eclipse happen. However, anyone who traveled here to see it is in for a rough trip back home.
@@karenneill9109 thats what someone posted on one of the community pages.
House roofs were blown off about 45mins drive from me. I am 15 mins drive from where the beach sand is in the road but we do not need to go that way. Where I live it's quite safe from storms.
My cuz messaged from the States telling me about the storm warning there after she was bombarded with pics from SA
You are a classy, humble guy, HB.
Awwww I saw this girl and her videos before!! And she looks sooo cute. I would die for hair like that. I also don't think the cut was bad, just the method.
@HB: thank you so much, as someone with trichotillomania, it's not just hair 😭
I hate it when people say that.
Also, whenever I watch one of your videos, I always scream 'WHY DON'T THESE PEOPLE GO TO A HAIRDRESSER FFS!' in my head...
Being impulsive can be helpful in a weird way. I know you care A LOT about hair, but cutting off ones own hair can be very freeing. Cutting your own hair is taking total autonomy over your body and appearance. It may not come out as a good haircut, but it can have a lot of mental value.
I shaved and cut my own hair and felt so better afterwards. Even with a shitty, ugly style created from damaged hair. I felt better. I felt like I finally had something on my body that was completely from myself after many formative years of abuse. After that, I started going to professionals for my hair.
I agree, it’s not just hair. Hair has a lot of spiritual, philosophical, and personal connotations. You’re showing recognition of this in a very raw way by mentioned alopecia and cancer.
You give incomparable advice to the other hair experts i’ve seen online. Even with English being a second language, what you choose to say and how you explain hair care is unique. It’s shown while you talk about the typical “put hair in ponytails while cutting your own hair” method.
Your knowledge will go even further with more kindness. Your kindness is what made me love watching you. Positivity heals oneself and influence others with knowledge.
You have EXTREMELY great advice. However, people don’t take advice when they feel attacked.
Your advice is worth hearing by anyone with hair or without. So please, show more kindness in your phrasing and voice.
Be kind, polite, affectionate, loving, and restrained. Like Buddha.
I also like my glasses, I love being able to see
😂😂😂
I have long hair, like her or even a little longer maybe, I have to wear a silk bonnet at night otherwise I wake up with a headache. I still do sometimes when I manage to pull the bonnet off or end up laying on the seem or on the hair bun-thing in the bonnet, but not nearly as often as I used to before the bonnet.
I enjoy your English, don’t change a thing! ❤
She reminds me of Zooey Deschanel ❤
I would love her hair! The color and cut!
Wetten is a verb in English, but we don't really use it. We mostly just use "wet" as the verb. So "Wet your hair" is usual. You don't need to say "make your hair wet". There are some contexts where "wetten" could be used without it sounding unusual, but I can't think of a good example! I would suggest just using "wet".
