  • The first starup, my truck ran very rough at startup. It would miss and sputter when I pressed the throttle. Backing up the truck was jumpy and didnt want to go. I had to let it warm up. After the 9100 It started up just fine, and in the video I am driving uphill on my driveway. I pulled off with no issues. Thanks Archoil!!!!

    Nothing like a hot cup of coffee, the smell of diesel , and the distinctive rattle of a 6.0 in the morning.

    I bought the gallon jug on Amazon a few years ago because I knew I would continue to use it and the price per oil change would be lower. Great product.

    I just put rev-x in my 2004 f-350 6.0 with 302.000 km (187.654 mi) and its basically the same as archoil but both work very well and the rev-x did the same as yours fixed my injectors mine runs prefect to am happy someone figured a solution out for us

      Thanks, I have also since switched to Royal Purple Duralec. The truck loves it. $250.00 an oil change with me doing the labor, but 10k mile intervals and none of the issues are worth it.

      starcommtrey yeah I was running rotella 15 40 but I'm going to switch to shell 5w40 and try some archoil9100. Don't have any problems right now but want to keep it that way. You should check out my channel and subscribe

      5w40 is good in cold weather. I am changing mine tomorrow. An RP rep also told me that with my truck, the RP only needs changing every 15k. Im gonna run this one to 15k and then send a sample off to blackstone.

    Even with archoil, on a first start of the day, you should really let a diesel warm up for a bit before just throwing it into gear and driving off. It's incredibly hard on the engine, especially in colder weather.

    • @BamaShinesDistillery
      @BamaShinesDistillery  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do, but for the purposes of the video, what I did was required. BTW, should I have an emergency and HAVE to get in it and really go, you cannot have that kind of running motor. But normally on a cold day like that, I turn it on and wait for the heater to kick in as I HATE cold weather.

      Armorcrew99 have you ever drained 15w40 out of a diesel truck when it's cold? I'm guessing no

    • @7.3powerstroke6
      @7.3powerstroke6 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I know 15w 40 is cheaper, but the 6.0l is meant to run on 5w 40 synthetic, the reason you HAD so much trouble was because of the 15w 40. Sure the archoil helped, but 5w 40 will make a HUGE difference. Now, I have a 7.3l, I know its not a 6.0l, but the injectors work the same way. it was designed for 15w 40, but where I live it gets down to 0f my 7.3l would struggle starting at 15f I know I should use the block heater but I dont., since using 5w 40 my truck will start at (-20f) like its a 50 degree day out, again no block heater. 5w 40 will make the difference.

      Armorcrew99 There is proof it causes turbo damage. Fard says min 15 sec startup and 7 min cool down after long hauls. I'm sure the test your speaking of is the 3.5 eco boost, that is a completely different engine than a diesel.

      @@BamaShinesDistillery good to know, thanks. I'm thinking about trying it, but can't help to think twice when it comes to pouring additives into an engine.. especially a 7.3 I don't know why, but as good as it seems online, I still haven't talked to or met anyone in person who's tried yet.
      So is it true that overall you get better mpg and the obvious easy to start? And does that mean the injectors will last longer too?

    Interesting that you made a point of showing the ambient temperature gauge on the console before the first startup but did not show it before 2nd startup.
    Also interesting that your camera angle showed the engine temperature gauge on the first startup but not on the 2nd startup.
