Kia ora kawerau. Central my favorite school of all time. I've been to alot. Very unstable lol love that town. There are so much activities for adventurous children as I was and wait... FREE pools budy, you cant beat it. The river Rapids the bush trails. And.... lilia❤😅😅 my crush. Never made it past friend status though🤪
Loved this waiata ever since I first heard it.. Emma such a unique voice..and waiata is so hauntingly beautiful ❤ ka pai wahine ma ❤️ Loved the bassline…
Ive always kept the memory of this song for all my years, and having heard it again brings back all the same memories i had then an overwhelming love for my country NZ.
Loved this song when it was first released (can it really be almost 25 years ago?!) . Driving under big skies over the Canterbury Plains with this on loud... perfect
I heard it back in 94 first debut? Devonport, Aucks 💓 Had the best surprise ever - bumping into her in Whangarei 2 wks ago. Mentioning it's one of my fav. songs. Lovely soul 🌺🦋
Being a kiwi this song and accompanying video reaonate so much with me. It makes me relive my life up till this point of growing up in New Zealand and the many many fun times experienced over the years. Times are tough and this country is not the same as it once was but I am still immensly proud to come from here. Born and bred. I wholeheartedly can say there's no where in the world I'd rather come from than this great land in the heart of the pacific ✊
@@jaipouwhare2939 If you don't mind me asking what happened to her? Sounds like she's fallen on hard times? This song will forever resonate with me there's just something so powerful about it

Great song, still great today. Does anyone recognise the old dude 'John' at 1.27 in the vid? He was a street performer on Queen Street for years. When I say performer I use that term loosely - he was awful 😏
jg left Aotearoa 2008, all told - while after 22 of his most wasted years. System V. is still one of the toughest songs to come down from the Long White Cloud, and bugger you. "Hee!!" yeah, whatever NZed be now - jg dare to think.
You Stupid Boy you can’t. It wasn’t released. Apparently there was an “indifference “ between the recording studio and manager or some shit. I bought the other version also and was very disappointed. Get the mp3 converter app and download the song from TH-cam to iTunes. I did that years ago.
i had read sumwhere that it had to do with record labels and their was a bit of a who-ha,this version wasn't allowed on the album and she had to do another version to get it on the album with the different label she now was with
2023 and still loving and keeping my memories from 1988 in Kawerau alive.
I take it you worked at the mill

Emma Paki music just hits the soul... beautiful songstress
yes..beautiful and haunting. and how beautiful is Emma
It's such a shame that inexperience with music industry fuckery limited the reach of this immensely talented artist.
I heard it back in 94 first debut? Devonport, Aucks 💓 Had the best surprise ever - bumping into her in Whangarei 2 wks ago. Mentioning it's one of my fav. songs. Lovely soul 🌺🦋
Thanks Sheena. This is my all time NZ music video. I wore out my video tape watching this back in the 90's. Never thought I'd see it again.
I can feel the power, energy and passion from Emma, the lyrics and the video. An inner strength!
