I remember watching Tate as a kid. I watched all the westerns - at the time we only got one station but they had a couple westerns every night. Tate was a summer replacement for a variety show along with a show about a talking baby. I don't really understand why Tate didn't come back for a second year - I think it was one of the best westerns of the time, right up there with The Rebel, The Rifleman, Gunsmoke, Wanted Dead or Alive, Have Gun Will Travel, Riverboat, etc. I have never run into anyone else who even remembers the series!!!
I remember when I was a kid this, and a stupid show about a talking baby, were summer replacements for a one hour program on the only TV station we got. It was always one of my favorite westerns. The 13 part series in available on DVD that I'll order at some time soon.
"TATE" (and "HAPPY", the show that appeared before it), were the 1960 summer replacements for "PERRY COMO'S KRAFT MUSIC HALL" {produced by Como's production company, "Roncom"}. After two weeks of repeats, Perry returned for a new season on October 5th.
Tate is one of those minimalist westerns where the sets are small, the actors and actresses are few and the stories are compelling and usually tales of revenge or violence. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves Old Time westerns! StocktonRob
Thank you for putting up this series. I never knew about it until finding it here. I'm soon 68 and I'm finally getting caught up on the great westerns I've missed. Thanks again. 🙂
And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Ruth 1:16
It would take a terrific 👍 man & woman in real life 2 make this work . 4Giveness , Trust , Empathy, Kindness & True ❤ could only bring a Couple thru this . Obviously Tate is a Well Seasoned Man in this Flick 👏
Good they had a French Voyager as one of the characters. The kid's kinda Anglo looking. I've read many Indian captures of Euros, and when the Euros returned, they could not stand staying inside, etc.
Luke 1:16-17 This is the scripture Tate read at the end. It was said by Ruth to her mother-in-law Naomi. Ruth left the life she knew and followed her mother-in-law. Read it yourself in the Bible. Regards to you. 😊
There are no heroes in this story, the crucible life, your wife is no longer your wife. She thought you were dead, you thought of finding her, in your search of eight years. You find her with a son, it's better to leave and manage your pain than to agitate and abuse her and her son. What really struck me, the father of the son, he wanted his son but the mother was only a bird that flew away, damn, a piece to use and discard, I want my son! The beings of humans!
*Grigori Rasputin...so, what would YOU hate done? Take the money, allow the father to murder the Chief and his wife and son and keep your mouth shut and PRETEND like TRUE LOVE and JUSTICE don't mean NOTHING?*
I differ from your opinion. Tate fulfilled his contract by negotiating the release of the woman and bringing her back. The contract was honoured. When he found that the woman's husband beat her and was willing to kill her he defended her life.

This is not for kids. Try the lone ranger or Cisco kid.
I was a huge fan of the Rifleman but was not aware that Tate existed.

There was a time when honor and care were cherished and treasured and had value.
In the world of 2020, I am not so sure.
Thanks for sharing.
It's a rarity. That makes it cherished even more so.
Spelling Assistance 4U 😅😅
Cherished. Blessings 2U 😅
One of the best episodes.

Thanks for watching! May the Sauce be with you.
It's awesome!

The voice of many is the voice of all Let Freedom Ring!
What happened to Tate's arm? I have never known about this old western. You can be sure I will be watching them all now! 👍👍
And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
Ruth 1:16
Thanks for the 👆 loads ,luv the black and white classics keep'em coming!!!
Worked out pretty well. The Indians got much needed supplies and a tortured man no longer suffers the indignity of insanity.
@Ward Kendall Yep sad but true. I don't blame the poor guy for being just a little pissed.
What a great series, thank you for posting these. I really enjoyed them, it was a series I don't think my country ever got -Katy.
Thanks Charles for uploading this episode.
Who is this Charles you are thanking?
@@PizzaFLIX I'll have to look on my ipad tomorrow.
Charles Boyle regarding Westerns both The forsaken and Tate are linked together so to speak
As soon as he handed her the Bible I knew she would open it to that passage in Ruth. Totally fitting.
Wonderful end to a quality production. Thanks for posting!
John Kellogg is good actor, starred many westerns!
really enjoyed this series well made sorry theres so few episodes
This was a descent series.. To bad that it wasn't longer than thirteen show's..
Thank you for sharing..
Your Word is truth, Lord!
Thank you for the movie
Another good show 👏 👌
Enjoyed thank you
How could a civilized person enjoy that?
The story of Ruth in the Bible is NOT about savages it is about ruthless animals.
It would take a terrific 👍 man & woman in real life 2 make this work . 4Giveness , Trust , Empathy, Kindness & True ❤ could only bring a Couple thru this .

Another fine short tv series that could have been worth several seasons, too bad. Have enjoyed it nevertheless. Thank you for posting.
Thank you for watching!
Was the chief of the tribe from Hoboken?
Good Series
Hollywood didn't hate Christians in those days.
that was when tv was good now it is garbage
Leonard nimoy, always potentially savage, but still nobelish
Hollywood sure improved on the American Indians' clothing style and quality

Where are the raste of the Episode ..??

Good tv, today tv mostly trash
it should have been obvious from the start, that it wouldn't work
Back in the TV days where Indians were white actors
Some Men and woman get physc damaged as kids and I remember when and How !
John Kellogg was the best.
Lots of Drama on Tate, always seriously,Therse and Comanding🤣only smiles wen Asleep😂
Tate wasn't very loyal to the guy who hired him and paid him well.
*Grigori Rasputin...so, what would YOU hate done? Take the money, allow the father to murder the Chief and his wife and son and keep your mouth shut and PRETEND like TRUE LOVE and JUSTICE don't mean NOTHING?*

17:58 back when men were men !
Great show but this was the weakest episode by far. Those indians should've ended like in the Nimoy episode.
