I looked at your result 4 minutes into the video, and daaaaaang man.., you did very well.., you would be spectacular with a decent trail shoe (not even the best..., just a good one).. great video.., I just finished a timed ultra in GA.., with 3200 ft of gain.., and it was brutal... but I enjoyed it. great stuff as always

I ran my first marathon in some Nikes Free Runs 2010 version, It was my first one ever I had picked up running after a divorce and some depression and just tough times and I didnt know anything about running I thought it was just go run, I looked so silly in the picture of that race. Baggie clothes, frumpy body , no hydration and some damn terrible Nikes. So many people told me you’ll never buy Nikes again the morning of the race and they were right. I did finish it against all odds and it was the worst time the worst pace the worst everything but it’s my favorite time period.
It’s funny that you think this is your worst idea because at least these are sneakers with some support as opposed to you running in flip flops or crocs, those challenges seemed more dangerous.
Honestly, I feel like the biggest issue is the fact that they were brand new, not broken in shoes and a size too small. The 90s wasn't the stoneage. They were running marathons back then too, and I'm assuming these shoes were made for that. I think I only say this because I've never worn a pair of running shoes that cost more than $50 and those are $100 so they must be doing something lol.
Reminds me of having to run in militairy with sloppy jungle boots and shin splints. Its all about puttinh your mind to it! Every human can go far beyond what theh think they can if the mind is right. Pain is an emotion that you can disable ;) right? RIGHT?!
