Where Should You Go After A Lob? (Tennis Singles Strategy)
    1. When you lob up over your opponent’s head, quickly put your toes on the service line so you handle any type of lob that your opponent hits back

Thank you ‪@HendyTennis‬ for allowing me to use your videos

Great content, Ryan. Thank you so much. Maybe you could also do a video about where to go after hitting a dropshot from right inside the baseline.

Good advice. I like to stop about 1 or 2 feet inside the service line but basically I do what you advise with that minor adjustment. This reminds me of a story. When I was learning to play in the 1970s, I read several books about tennis. More than one of the books mentioned a Davis Cup match between USA and Mexico. The Mexican player Raul Ramirez was in the last set of a tight match and hit a lob over the American but he stayed back at the baseline. The American hit a lob back to reset the point and went on to win the point and the match. After reading at least 2 books that highlighted Raul Ramirez's mistake of staying back after his good lob, I went to the net every time my lob cleared my opponent out of fear of being like Raul Ramirez. I still see a lot of players that hit a great lob and just hang around the baseline.

Yaa & going to the net in that situation is more like our mind gets bit greedy that blinds us to hit a bad shot.
So just keeping the mind neutral in this situation & being on the service line is better to attack accordingly to the opponent's reply.🤷‍♂

A little better quicker footwork would have gotten that lob. Also got a little greedy with smash. Skyhook return like jimmy Conner’s used to do works good enough. But with that said still good advice 🔥

this is what you call "good strategy but bad execution". for me, it is expected that an opponent facing away from the court can only hit lob(recreational level) or tweener (pro) shot. Based on my own experience, a recreational player hitting a ball on his back on the court has higher tendency to hit a lob than a tweener. stopping before the service box would simply give yourself ample time to prepare your next shot to end the point whether the lob went short, mid, or baseline. however, if he's a pro knowing he could hit a tweener going near the net could be an option for an easy put away volley

It seems like Hayden could have angle that off Softly because his opponent was so far back

He couldn’t bc he moved in too far. Situations are much more difficult than they appear.

@@2MinuteTennis I was taught to just bunt the ball back deep down the middle when you can just barely reach it on a lob
