That is a great trestle. The State of WV is so diverse with mountains, rivers, some flat lands that we are almost guaranteed to see some unique trestles. Very cool.
Thank you for documenting thees two trains, Jaw Tooth! It was nice of you to go back to Big Ssndy Junction in Catlettsburg, Kentucjy. That was a nice catch of the CSX train there at the tower. You got to the testle over Kenova, West Virginia just in time to catch the Norfolk Southern train crossing the road you were driving on. That was neat hearing the sound of the Norfolk Southern train going over the trestle. The end of train DPU on the Norfolk Southern train was really working to help shove the train. The historical marker about the origin of Town of Ceredo by the Abolitionist, Eli Thayer of Massachusetts. At the time of the founding of Ceredo, this area was part of the slave state of Virginia. West Virginia. It was not until 20 June 1863 that West Virginia became a free State in the United States.

In the first half it looked like a cylindrical covered hopper with a heavily whited out Route Rock. As the NS train crossed the bridge approach its the same look as the DMIR Ore Dock lead in Duluth .MN. No matter the angle heavy duty steel bridges just look great. Pure and Simple. Great way to start the week brightened by Norfie and the Tail Waggin Trio

Hello from the UK. That is a really impressive iron bridge and good a catch. My fact for today, did you know that in the UK, a rail road tower is a railway signal box. Like in the US, most of these have disappeared in the last 20 years as electronic signalling becomes ever more centralised and signals and points (switches) are controlled by control centres many miles away.
I was thinking of yesterday's video, where Norfie was playing with her toy fish. It made me wonder how Norfie would act if she was given a real Mullet.

The engineering and longevity of these railroad bridges and trestles amazes me, most of them here by the Great Lakes have been there for over a century and still in daily use. Some of them haven't been painted in 50 or more years.
@@davecruzen9352 There's been a few incidents of trucks hitting RR overpasses by not being alert but sometimes because height signs not being updated after repaving. Usually the clearance is between 12-14 feet but no two are exactly the same.
It really makes you think of how powerful those Loco's are, seeing them pull that weight on a gradient; so the train in the beginning is the same at the end, was trying to work out why the Trestle is so high and long, I can see the River but assume its to small a valley in width so they just stuck the Trestle in keeping the height from one side to the other the same level? Good to see Norfie looking better.
Back in the early 60s there used to be a soda pop called Cumberland Cola. I figured it was just a generic picture of a train crossing a trestle. But looking at that train as you were approaching The Trestle driving the truck I think that's exactly what they drew their on the bottle. It was one of the prettier bottles that existed

Yes it's the same in UK £179.9 for regular 95 octane since the Russians invaded Ukraine. That's nearly a 40% rise in two weeks. If its the same in the US it will really cut folks travelling around.

That is an amazing train trestle. That train crossing it was a monster. The dogs were fired up. Norfie is looking good. She's a real chow hound.

What is the height clearance for those under crossings. Any truckers not pay attention and have to take alternate route.
