My sister was dating a man who was from Laos. He was a really cool dude. He really loved the 1970s, music. Especially disco. His musical taste seemed to be stuck from that decade. He went to a record store. I think it was a Sam Goody store. I think it was right around the holiday season of 1986, maybe early 1987. He had just heard the song Nobody's Fool. He wanted the single. The store didn't have it. So he bought the album Night Songs. He loved the album, and from that moment forward. He not only became a Cinderella fan, but a hard rock/heavy metal fan. We also became pretty good friends. He was definitely my sister's favorite boyfriend, for me. He promised to take me to a Cinderella concert. They came to Seattle with Bon Jovi in 1987, he took my sister of course. About a year later they broke up. In 1989, he called me on my birthday. He wished me Happy Birthday. Asked me how I was doing. He said he has tickets to the Cinderella,Bulletboys,Winger, concert next month in Spokane. You want to go with me? I am like fuck yeah. It was awesome. He was a great guy. He was like a big brother to me. He and my sister only dated for about a year. He was so cool to me. He told me he always felt bad, about not taking me to the first concert, back in 87. His current girlfriend at the time, couldn't understand why he was talking his ex girlfriend's brother to a concert, and not her. We had a great time. Two months later in August,he was killed in a motorcycle accident. His parents called and told me about it. They wanted me to come to funeral. Their son, Pytoon, would have wanted me there. It was the first funeral I ever went to. I was a fat chubby kid. Who older kids always picked on. I was a loner, and felt like a weirdo. This young man, from another country, halfway around the world. Treated me like family. I will forever be grateful to him. Every time Nobody's Fool comes on the radio. I think of him.
Cinderella came through Mojave, CA, on their way to shoot the video for "Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone)", at Mono Lake. They had stopped at Carl's Jr., my brother was there and he called me and I hauled ass down there. I got there just as they were getting back on the tour bus, I had my Night Songs cassette and I handed it to the driver and they all signed it, minus Fred. I still have that cassette to this day! Such a Great band!
I was stationed at an Air Force base in Japan in the late '80s. We were at the edge of the world and end of the supply line. When a new shipment of stateside stuff came in, it was immediately grabbed up. I was in a little on-base convenience market late one afternoon and the CD rack was almost empty after the latest supply run. I was looking for some new music. The rack had a couple of country and adult contemporary offerings and there, hidden on the bottom shelf, one last copy of Long Cold Winter. I'd never heard of Cinderella, but I bought it anyway. I took it home and gave it a listen. Then, I turned it up and really LISTENED! Loved it then; still love it today.
Born in 1970, graduated in 88 here. I saw Cinderella a few times back in the day. If you are GEN X like me, you love this channel! Hello to all my fellow GEN X. Can you believe how the world is now? If you were a teenager back then, like me, I know you miss it! IYKYK! 🤘❤🤘 😢

Cinderella is my favorite of the “hair bands.” The voice, the lyrics, the melodies…just amazing. “Heartbreak Station” is another under appreciated song!!!
I used to play/sing that song on an acoustic guitar and (college) kids would really like it and ask who it was. Then I’d say, “Cinderella,” and they’d immediately be dismissive and go back to their flannel and grunge…
Tom is an insanely talented musician, plays everything expertly, writes incredible songs, and his voice is incredibly hard on the vocals, but he pulls it off.
He, as well as all of them, are also exveedingly good guys (well, Jeff was before he got called Home). I opened for them at a local rock club (when there were "didn't you used to be?"). Having done so for numerous bands that "used to be", I expected the typical pissed off, arrogant "rock star" attitude. They were the coolest cats around. We all hung out after (which NEVER happens, and they were hugely complimentary and even offered some suggestions for us to be better..... You can't say anything bad to me.
I was stationed in Korea from 87 to 88 and we would all hang out at the Korean clubs to hear the latest music. When the local DJ got a bootleg of "Coming Home" and started showing it on the large projection screen TV behind the bar it became the most requested song at the club! The 80's was the BEST music decade in my opinion to date and Cinderella was a quintessential part of the rock scene at the time. Sure, they caught some flack due to their looks, but you can't argue with the end result.
Shake Me, Nobody's Fool, Last Mile and Gypsy Road are my all time favorite Cinderella songs, but both albums re brilliant to me. Thanks for this clip, Professor - very much appreciated from us 80s rock heads Downunder
The Night Songs album is one of those few that i can let play from start to finish without the urge to skip a song. Tom's raw edged vocals were compelling & draws you right in while the music rocked your socks off! The title track is my favorite. Keep bringing us more great videos and please take a dive into Britny Fox!!! Lots of connections to Cinderella & other rockers.
Cinderella was so underappreciated because of the hairband stereotype and the snobbery of the more hardcore metal fans. Last Mile, Coming Home, Heartbreak Station, Gypsy Road, and so many more deserve respect.
Yes, the hairband stereotype which you're little glammies worked closely with their stylist (presumably Bronson Pinchots character from Beverly Hills Cop) to INTENTIONALLY BRING ABOUT. If possessing the taste to reject these guys... girls... whatever makes me a Metal Elitist than I proudly embrace the title. As do Scott Ian, James Hatfield, Dave Mustain and many others who's "elitist" music will actually still be a relevant topic of cultural conversation hundreds of years from now. That's what I think of your "Give em' a chance... Their actually a blues band" has beens who were quite finished by the time Grunge showed up to sterilize the rest of their co conspirators from rock culture, and yes, rock HISTORY. So there. I'll give you this though...a grown ass man talking publicly about his love for Cinderella indicates that you do possess (counter intuitively) some big balls.
Tom Keifer is a towering rock star by nature.. his vocals are insane and when he picks up the guitar and plays the bluesy solo.. Then hops on the piano and sings and plays.. He's a national treasure.. way over the top charisma.. he has it all!!!
I usually never comment, but Tom had the best metal voice of the era. The band is the most underrated as well. They produced great albums and none of their songs sound like trash. Thank you for giving them some much overdue credit on your channel and I really hope you can interview Tom.
They were my second concert as well! Opening for Bon Jovi on the Slippery When Wet tour for Night Songs... I was nine... cool aunt. Plus, my first slow dance was at a high school dance to "Don't Know What You've Got"... the same woman and I danced to it at our 20 year reunion as well. Love Cinderella and Tom! Thank you for featuring them, sir.
The night my Friends and I went to see Cinderella, Bulletboys, and Winger in my little hamlet was one of the most fun nights of my Life...sold out (7500 capacity), and EVERYONE I knew seemed to be there...I have so many stories revolving around Cinderella and their songs...good times!
Also saw that show at Sandstone in Bonner Springs, KS. Amazing show. I went to a lot of concerts back in the day, and Cinderella was one of the best live acts I've ever seen.
I saw that tour too!. I remember Cinderella opened with "Bad Seamstress Blues" which is a bold choice starting out slow blues acoustic. I remember the descending grand piano starting out the song "Don't Know What You Got..." Descending from the top near the lights and coming down as he played. What a spectacle!!!! And I remember Bulletboys singer opened with the chant "One, Two...F You!" lol. ----What I cannot remember was the date. Late 88? '89? I wish I could remember.
One of my earliest MTV memories is when they were holding a contest, something to do with Cinderella. The commercial had those 2 girls in polka dot dresses and sunglasses, and they said something like "WE'RE going to the Cinderella concert! Are you?" Couple years after that I saw their video for "Shelter Me" on MTV, and I bought the cassette tape of Heartbreak Station. Always loved the song "The More Things Change" from that album.
My husband and I had the pleasure to see Cinderella in the 2002 Hollyweird Tour, along with Poison, Winger and Faster Pussycat. I have been a BIG fan of Cinderella since the 80s and finally saw them for the first that night live❤❤❤. Tom Keifer’s voice and stage presence were MAGNETIC! I was so happily enthralled listening and singing along, I think my hubby got a bit jealous from my very obvious crush 😂.
Tom Keifer was a lot like Brian Johnson of AC/DC or Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. A unique sound that was signature, you knew the very second who was singing those songs because it was original and not just another rehash of the same thing everyone else was doing for the past 20 years before.
My very first concert was Cinderella in late 89 in Fayetteville NC. The openers were the Bullet Boys and Winger. I was 17. I still love all that music to this day. Thanks for this one.
Born in 73. Absolutely loved Bad Seamstress Blues (Fallin Apart At The Seams). This band was one of the few of that era who could successfully blend hard rock with a strong dose of blues and sound so good. Blues music is the base of a lot of hard rock/heavy metal and Cinderella was tremendous at taking the roots of the music and bringing out the emotional aspects of what the music was all about: feeling good, frustration, self-preservation, anger, and at the same time hope for a better future.
One of my fondest memories of Cinderella was when my brother and I were watching the music Peace Festival from Moscow back in 89 and Tom Keifer was doing the intro to Gypsy Road and we were completely mesmerized. I get chills to this very day watching him blare out those vocals on the intro. To this very day I still try to match those vocals every time I hear it, it gives me chills every time.
I started seeing this band at smaller clubs in the Philadelphia suburbs in their early days. They sounded just as SHARP live as they did in the studio. And they were truly nice guys. In fact, I still have the wedding favor Jeff Labar gave to everyone who attended his wedding in 1990 - a miniature porcelain Cinderella slipper with their names engraved on it. I miss him. But their music endures!
My brother got me into hard rock/metal at 10yo. In 1986 when I first heard Cinderella I was blown away!! Tom Keifer has always been one of my favorite vocalist!! Killer voice!! Then Jeff LaBar’s bluesy licks added to the mix….amazing!!!
I was a senior in high school when I saw them in ‘89 on the “Long Cold Winter” tour. They blew the roof off the joint and had the city of Rochester jumping. Great band, great show and of course great video Professor!! 🖖✌️
I heard Shake Me on MTV and that was enough to buy the cassette. Once Around the Ride, Night Songs, Back Home Again, Somebody Save Me, Nobody's Fool, I still love that record. Long Cold Winter has some standout tracks as well 🔥
I still listen to Cinderella to this day! Especially the first album “Night Songs”. The videos were great and funny at the same time. The riffs in “Somebody Save Me”, “Hell on Wheels”, or “Once around the ride” are all just awesome. The last two are ones you have to know the album to have heard them. Anyway, later stuff was just as awesome. Especially “Bad Seamstress Blues” was an excellent track. I watched them open for Bon Jovi in Knoxville TN, during the “Slippery When Wet” tour. I wasn’t a Bon Jovi fan, but had to go to be the sort of chaperone for my big sister ( she was 15 at the time ) and her boyfriend and future husband. I was 13 at the time, and was a Cinderella fan, as a guitar guy myself, I saw the video showing Tom and Jeff picking each other’s necks while fretting their own. It just blew me away at the talent there. Then they spun the guitars around their necks, too cool! I tried it with my Fender Strat HM soon after. I about knocked myself out lol. I didn’t know about strap locks at the time, but boy did I learn the hard and painful way! Anyway, they came out opening for Bon Jovi. They were absolutely perfection. It was so tight and close to the tape, it was so impressive. I’d been to several shows of all types before and a lot lot lot more after. I’ve never heard anyone sound that close to the album, except for maybe ZZ Top. But, it was live as you could tell it wasn’t lip sync as it would have been really hard to do at that time and be that perfect. Cinderella was so good, then Bon Jovi came out and…ruined the show lol. They sounded okay, but Jon sounded like he had inhaled all the helium in the area before coming out. They must spend so much time on him in the studio! Anyway, they’re great!
Bon Jovi did a lot more for them than you mentioned. He took them on tour to open up and they had a huge following after that. Introducing them to the world, and having them be part of the Moscow music piece festival in Russia. Tom has an amazing voice that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. And his playing ability on many instruments. So there is a lot you didn’t cover about them. And Night songs was one of their best imo. And listen to the blues feeling on Long cold winter- just awesome.
I watched Tom Keifer play 'Don't Know What You Got' on the white grand piano being lowered from the ceilingb of the Civic Center in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Love this upload. I play Cinderell's hits cd at least once a week. Yep Im that girl from the UK that loves 80's hair metal. Thanks for this retelling of the story behind Nobodys Fool along with their other well known songs. Hope it gets them some more/new fans in the 21st century
This band, and Tom especially, definitely deserve to be in EVERY conversation about great bands! So many memories attached to them-good and bad. JJ -South Alabama
All i can say is.... "Pat's Dogs, Pat's Chile Dogs!"😂 Seriously though, still one of my favorite bands of all time. Still crank them to this day! Never get tired of listening and dont have a bad song in their repertoire. Bad Seamstress Blues / Fallin’ Apart at the Seams and Night Songs are personal faves
"Long Cold Winter" is one hell of an album. I still play that one regularly. It's like a time machine that takes me right back to the summer of 1988. The Tom Keifer Band is pretty good too.
I was a punk rocker in the 80s, and didn't listen to metal much. I think I need to remedy that, and this is a good place to start! Besides, after weeks of miserable heat over 104 degrees every damn day, I'd like to think about a "Long Cold Winter". It's already 90 degrees inside my house at 8:00 AM, because I have no AC.🥵😫 Any suggestions for a playlist of "cool" themed songs? "Cold As Ice" by Foreigner is a given, along with the Tom Waits songs, "Cold, Cold Ground" and "Cold Water". 🥶🧊
@@LazyIRanch This has been an awful hot summer. Used to be a few weeks of 100 degrees but not months. I don't have air conditioning in my house or car.
Hey, I produced a show with these guys in 96-97, 900 seat club, of all the shows I produced during this time, Tom Kiefer, was stuck in the "I'm a rock star mode", and hey I get it, I've done several shows with big bands of the past,( Ratt, Blue Oyster Cult, Slaughter, etc. ..) , but this guy's attitude almost made me cancel the show, cause I couldn't make him happy,...(Jus him), rest of the band we're awesome and grateful for the attention to detail. Anyways glad I went on with the show cause it was incredible, LoL Thanks for the content and information about all the Rock and Pop drama of the past. You are number 1, and ya show should be on MTV or Axis, anyways ya rock! Thanks for reading. Michael Dyson
I saw Cinderella when they opened for Bon Jovi, at the Seattle Center Colosseum, on the “Slippery When Wet” tour. Fantastic show! I’ll never forget the first time I heard “Shake Me” while in the Yakima firing center. Middle of the night, cold high plains desert, Tom Keiffer’s scream, cutting through the darkness like a searchlight. Thanks for this, brother!
Tom was one of my "gateway drugs" into the blues (along with AC/DC, Colin James, Jeff Healey & Stevie Ray Vaughan). Especially their 2nd album which opened with Bad Seamstress Blues which segues into my favourite track on the album, Gypsy Road. One of my fondest early concert memories was going to see Bon Jovi in Calgary when they first started headlining for Slippery When Wet (I had seen them opening for Judas Priest a few months earlier in Edmonton, just before Slippery was released and took over the rock world), and Cinderella opened. You could tell that they were good friends - Bon Jovi's encore had the full Cinderella band coming out on stage with them and they jammed multiple songs together... both full bands. I think that is the only time I have seen that.
Cinderella was a great band, I think they suffered a bit of an identity crisis, they looked like most "hair bands" of their day but the music was more roots rock and blues oriented. I first saw them opening act (forgot who) and they rocked. I saw Tom Keifer with his band a few months ago, still rocking hard.
They did have an identity crisis!! Quiet Riot was on Solid Gold several times in the mid to late 1980’s and playing at county fairgrounds and festivals and opening for other hair bands and hard rock bands!! Cinderella was not on anyone’s radar. Once Quiet Riot faded out,Cinderella moved to the front somewhat.
I totally agree that Cinderella was one of the best bands of the glam 80s glam metal era. My favorite album was Long Cold Winter and I loved almost every song on it. Gypsy Road was probably my favorite. Thanks again for the video
See? It's not just us chicks that go to the restroom in "groups"!😂 "Destiny's call just over-ruled nature's call" Nice one, Adam, that made me LOL. I wasn't a huge fan of "metal" bands, but I sure loved the eye candy of bands like Cinderella, these men were gorgeous and knew how to put on a great show for fans!
Loved this Band--I agree, so underrated(IMO). I saw them as opening act for Bon Jovi in Oklahoma City. I was a young Teacher/Coach in Moore(OK) and left school during my Lunch Hour to go to Sound Warehouse(one of OKC's Main Record Stores), and the Boys were there to sign autographs. I got their autographs and used it as a "Reward"😊 for the Kids in my 9th Grade History Class. They were great guys to meet.
Yep! I remember buying this on cassette at Sam Goody at the mall in ‘86. Slowly injected it in my new Pioneer stereo system in my car, and jammed all the way home. Such a classic memory!
Tom is definitely a distinctive singer from that era. I have a personal connection to one of the members of Cinderella. Jeff LaBar (RIP 😢) was our camp counselor at a rock camp I participated in. (2019) Not only did I get to hang out and jam on stage with him at two different venues in Nashville, but one day Jeff and I drove around town in his new car while he played me some of his recent original music. He’s driving down the streets of Nashville, music blasting and head banging. (Thankfully we didn’t have a wreck) it was wild. A memory I’ll never forget. (I have part of it on video…how could I not tape that moment) Many more memories from this once in a lifetime experience….but Jeff being part of it fits your story here. Plus my name is Fred, his drummer in Cinderella was Fred 🥁🥁🤘 Looking forward to if you get to interview Tom. He’s still performing with his band. What a voice. Again RIP Jeff Thanks for the memories.
Great video professor! Phenomenal band!! Proud to say they were from my neck of the woods! Second concert ever when they opened up for David Lee Roth in 1986 at the spectrum in Philly.. still have the ticket stub. By far ...They were one of the best bands to come out of that genre.
so glad that Tom still tours and plays all the hits!!!! he still sounds so amazing!!!! never got to see Cinderella in concert, but have seen Tom on tour twice so far!!!! Really hope you get an interview with him!!!!
Saw Tom pre-covid twice supporting his solo album. He pours everything he's got into his performance ! A true rock star, that gives the audience such a true & genuine show. Also saw Cinderella back in 88 out West in Colorado.....Truly iconic performer !
The song "Long Cold Winter" totally floored me at the time, and led me to explore blues music. It also changed the way I played guitar too - and still has. I haven't played that song in a long time, and that'll change too - time to jam. Thanks Professor!!!
I can't say your video took me down memory lane, only because I've never stopped listening to Cinderella. I left junior high school in 86, being a fan of DJ jazzy Jeff and the fresh prince, run DMC, NEW EDITION,etc. I dressed up as much as my or budget would allow I started high school in 86 wearing denim with band buttons and bananas in the back pocket of my torn Levi's. Nobody's Fool was the catalyst. I finally saw them mid 90s, in a converted skating rink made into a bar called slammers. I still have Jeff Labars pick from that show. It's one of my favorite possessions.
“Don’t know what you got” is the quintessential heartbreak song for anyone that has ever had regrets from a relationship. Myself included. It still has the ability to make me a little sad and a little happy at the same time. As for my my personal favorite, it has to be “Heartbreak Station”. A song for anyone that has ever been dumped or had unreciprocated love for someone. Two songs that were the anthem for my formative years. Thank you Cinderella for taking me to both ends of the emotional roller coaster that was my life as a young man.
Bruh , I’m so glad I caught this episode because I have been preaching for years that Cinderella was the most underrated and forgotten by many . Oh and you said it spot on about Tom’s voice. No one I’ve heard to this day can do it. Brian Johnson, similar but not as high or as much inflection. Sorry I have just waited so long to hear it from someone. I feel validated lol. I actually saw Tom doing club venues in 2012 or there about in San Antonio and I knew about all the surgeries but he could still put it up there when the moment came . It was a really cool show. I used to blast Gypsy Road like nobody else”s peace mattered and that song to me really shows how much power Tom wielded from the stage ( Live in Moscow) Sorry again for going on about it and Thanks for what you do.
I nearly wore out this cassette. Great band! Also, great video. Thank you for this one. I really enjoyed this trip back to a time of being a kid and enjoying everything.
Thanks for the episode. This was one of my two favorite bands from this era, along with Tesla. I thought both of those bands music was just different and it still stands up today.
Cinderella was one of my favorite hair bands. I saw them at a concert at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in NH about 12-13 years ago and it was one of the most incredible nights. It was all general admission there and I ended up standing off to the side. I was blown away by how incredible they still sounded! Definitely a highlight of my life!
I was lucky enough to have seen them in the 80s and again about 20 years later. Both shows Tom sounded amazing. I loved the Night Songs album and vaguely remember the videos.
Please please please interview Tom! I was in 8th grade when I saw Bon Jovi & Cinderella in Denver, years later I got to see Cinderella again and got to meet Tom Keifer after the show, absolutely Love Cinderella, thank you for doing this! 💜
Great segment. Thank you. Im not into " power ballads " or pop metal all that much. But "gypsy road" and " the last mile" are two of my favorite songs. To me, they are roots rock americana. The genre i was listening to and looking for at that time. hard hitting folk - rock and alternative country and the two Cinderella songs weren't that far from what, for instance, jason and the scorchers were doing at the time. Tom keifer seems very authentic and sincere . Hope you get your interview. I look forward to it.
FRAKKIN Love the shirt Professor ......I had three dozen of those "concert cuts" from the shows i went too. House fire and a flood and none of those survived till now, even my album of concert ticket stubs. The power of memory is the drive behind most rock ballads but especially Cinderella ....lol
I cannot agree more with how underrated this band is! The cover for Night Songs got them lumped into the Hair Metal label, but these guys were excellent hard rock musicians with a significant blues influence. And Adam hit it on the head! I was literally just listing to them today and thinking, "Damn, these guys are so good!' I consider myself a complete music nerd but Adam always hits me with history I didn't know. You are truly the Professor or Rock!
I was at the 1988 Texas Jam. (Kingdom Come - Metallica - Dokken - Scorpions - Van Halen) The show technically opened with the first listen of the entire Long cold Winter album before the bands started taking the stage. Have loved Cinderella ever since.

TRUTH!
Cinderella is my favorite of the “hair bands.” The voice, the lyrics, the melodies…just amazing. “Heartbreak Station” is another under appreciated song!!!
It's an underappreciated album, too. It came out just as the "hair metal" era was about to end. John Paul Jones helped out producing that album.
I saw Cinderella with BonJovi. I thought that Cinderella put on a better performance than BonJovi.
I used to play/sing that song on an acoustic guitar and (college) kids would really like it and ask who it was. Then I’d say, “Cinderella,” and they’d immediately be dismissive and go back to their flannel and grunge…

Tom's raw edged vocals were compelling & draws you right in while the music rocked your socks off! The title track is my favorite. Keep bringing us more great videos and please take a dive into Britny Fox!!! Lots of connections to Cinderella & other rockers.
A great driving album also.....put it on and then just floor it.
One of my favorite albums of all time
their first 3 albums KICKED ASS
Great album
Cinderella was so underappreciated because of the hairband stereotype and the snobbery of the more hardcore metal fans. Last Mile, Coming Home, Heartbreak Station, Gypsy Road, and so many more deserve respect.
The riff from shake me is right up there with smoke on the water. Actually I prefer playing it
@@timothya2742Ha, good one!😂😂
@@rdspam or Hey man nice shot 😂
When you play covers. You just feed the crowd
As one of the snob more hardcore metal fans of the day...I, over time, have come to realize this is true
Cinderella is my favorite 80s hair metal band, and I was all about the 80s hair metal. I regret never having seen them live. RIP Jeff LaBar
I usually never comment, but Tom had the best metal voice of the era. The band is the most underrated as well. They produced great albums and none of their songs sound like trash. Thank you for giving them some much overdue credit on your channel and I really hope you can interview Tom.
No doubt about it. Underrated in so many ways.
I went to the show Slippery when Wet and the Cinderella show I camped out for those tickets nothing better
Cinderella was kick ass. Very bluesy band. Loved their music. Saw Tom Keifer a couple years ago. Still pretty solid.
Saw this same show at Broome County Arena.
I remember that concert!
I saw that tour at Sandstone Amphitheater in Kansas.
I just saw Tom Keifer on Thursday, Aug. 1st. He puts on a great show and can still bring it. I highly recommend seeing them if you get a chance.
I glad you had a great time got the opportunity to see him.
Where are?
@@xxlilly_playsxxkiz9980 I saw him at The Gennessee Theater in Waukegan, Illinois
Going next week
Tom Kiefer always came to The Grease Monkey in Dallas year after year . I went to every show ! Still sounds like 1985 !
"Destiny's call had just overruled nature's call..." 😂 Touché, Professor!
Ha ha!
Best band from the hair metal label. 4 great albums. Tom's unmistakable vocals top it all off.
No question. Such a great voice!
An amazing singer.
I was there for that also!!! \m/
Coming Home….. he’s gonezo…. Omg fckn amazing set!!!
Great show. It's hard to believe that was all about keeping Doc McGee out of jail.
Thanks for sharing!
Yup, south Jersey guys…I saw them play all the Philly/Jersey venues and clubs back in the day. Great band. Thanks, Professor, for this episode.
SOOOOOOOO jealous. We don't get much here Downunder sometimes and it sucks.
I was lucky enough to see Cinderella with Poison and Warrant in the early 2000’s. It was such an amazing line up. I love these guys! Thanks Professor.
Very cool!
Should have seen them 20 years earlier.
I saw the picture in the thumbnail and I thought, "is the Professor covering Cinderella?"
BAM. Never disappointed in this channel.
I know what you mean! Same thing happened when I saw them!
I heard Shake Me on MTV and that was enough to buy the cassette. Once Around the Ride, Night Songs, Back Home Again, Somebody Save Me, Nobody's Fool, I still love that record. Long Cold Winter has some standout tracks as well 🔥
So many awesome songs on there that did not get their due!
Oh hell yes, "Coming Home" was my favorite song of theirs as well!
I watched Tom Keifer play 'Don't Know What You Got' on the white grand piano being lowered from the ceilingb of the Civic Center in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Their Long Cold Winter tour is still my favorite tour. I love, love, love Cinderella!!
Love this upload. I play Cinderell's hits cd at least once a week. Yep Im that girl from the UK that loves 80's hair metal. Thanks for this retelling of the story behind Nobodys Fool along with their other well known songs. Hope it gets them some more/new fans in the 21st century
Rock on!
What’s your favorite song?
Me and my Wife were fortunate to see the bands very last show on a Monsters of Rock Cruise. Hung out with Tom,Eric, and Jeff( RIP). What a Show!
This band, and Tom especially, definitely deserve to be in EVERY conversation about great bands! So many memories attached to them-good and bad.

Cinderella and their history thanks Professor.🎸🥁🎸
Thanks Roger!
Love it. I walk the last mile. Cinderella is awesome. ❤ 🎃
I love Tom Keifer's voice. Cinderella was an amazing band.
Love the video thanks I really enjoyed Cinderella’s music. Great times for sure.
"Long Cold Winter" is one hell of an album. I still play that one regularly. It's like a time machine that takes me right back to the summer of 1988.
The Tom Keifer Band is pretty good too.
I to occasionally play Long Cold Winter. Great album.
I was a punk rocker in the 80s, and didn't listen to metal much. I think I need to remedy that, and this is a good place to start!
Besides, after weeks of miserable heat over 104 degrees every damn day, I'd like to think about a "Long Cold Winter".
It's already 90 degrees inside my house at 8:00 AM, because I have no AC.🥵😫
Any suggestions for a playlist of "cool" themed songs?
"Cold As Ice" by Foreigner is a given, along with the Tom Waits songs, "Cold, Cold Ground" and "Cold Water". 🥶🧊

Anyways glad I went on with the show cause it was incredible, LoL
Thanks for the content and information about all the Rock and Pop drama of the past. You are number 1, and ya show should be on MTV or Axis, anyways ya rock! Thanks for reading. Michael Dyson
Love the videos, and the Breakthrough series is soo cool and interesting. Great work!
Thanks!
I worked at a local skate rink when long cold winter dropped it was heavily requested. Lots of great memories tied to this band.
CINDERELLA = AC/DC meets Aerosmith meets Def Leppard.
Good call!
…meets Janis Joplin.
I wasn't a metal hair band guy, but I couldn't resist the appeal of Cinderella. Tom's growl was very unique.
Clocks were definitely symbolic since a big part of Cinderella's fairy tale is the clock striking midnight.
Good point!
I used to be obsessed with knowing the time.
See? It's not just us chicks that go to the restroom in "groups"!😂
"Destiny's call just over-ruled nature's call" Nice one, Adam, that made me LOL.
I wasn't a huge fan of "metal" bands, but I sure loved the eye candy of bands like Cinderella, these men were gorgeous and knew how to put on a great show for fans!
Ha ha!
I LOVE the hair on these guys!
I agree, 100% such a unique vocal as well. Cinderella, definitely deserved more love on the radio. Love your channel, My friend!!

Cinderella was great for the late 80s.

(I have part of it on video…how could I not tape that moment)
Many more memories from this once in a lifetime experience….but Jeff being part of it fits your story here. Plus my name is Fred, his drummer in Cinderella was Fred 🥁🥁🤘
Looking forward to if you get to interview Tom. He’s still performing with his band. What a voice.
Again RIP Jeff Thanks for the memories.
As for the topic of this band I guess you could say "urine for a treat with this episode"

I've been a fan of Cinderella since they came out. Great video, as always.
I saw Tom Keifer live a few years ago and he still sounds great...
Thanks for mentioning his solo records. I had no idea that he put those out.
I was a total New Waver/Synth Pop boy and loved Long Cold Winter!!! Great album

Shake me is also a phenomenal song! Thanks for a great video, Prof!
Great. I was listening to them last week. Thanks!
Loved Cinderella. Very underrated band. Their videos were great. They don't old at all, I can watch them over and over.
Thanks for the episode. This was one of my two favorite bands from this era, along with Tesla. I thought both of those bands music was just different and it still stands up today.
TESLA, still making great music 38 years and going!
Definitely a great video about this magnificent band
I was lucky enough to have seen them in the 80s and again about 20 years later. Both shows Tom sounded amazing. I loved the Night Songs album and vaguely remember the videos.
😊
Thanks for taking me down memory lane.
Cinderella is one of my favorite bands and one that I never got to see live. Tom's vocals are so amazing.
I was at the 1988 Texas Jam. (Kingdom Come - Metallica - Dokken - Scorpions - Van Halen) The show technically opened with the first listen of the entire Long cold Winter album before the bands started taking the stage. Have loved Cinderella ever since.
One of my favorite guitar solos: "Don't Know What You Got 'til it's Gone" just beautiful!
Thank you for this professor.. you nailed it!✊
Always loved his powerful voice.
Love the behind the scenes stories of 80's rock.
I just saw Tom Keifer last weekend...he is definitely still a Rockstar!
