Swami could you also provide a dating for this work? I could not find anything about Gauracharana Dasa anywhere nor this work of his! And it is surprising how there is no mention of the famed Rasgullas in this!
Thank you so much for your kind words. This is Odissi music, the traditional classical music of Odisha, and the music of Jagannatha's seva. This is only a selection of the full Bachanika. It is not the complete poem which is over a hundred stanzas. I had to omit many portions. Gauracharana Dasa Adhikari was one of the famous poets of the Odissi music tradition in the 19th century, and he is the renowned author of 'Nilachakre Ho Dekha Uduchi Bana', 'Radhe Gobinda Bhaja' 'Kala Singha Kahinki Ailu Re' and many more.
Sir namaskar apananka swararu mahaorabhu Jagannathanka mahaima abagaita heuchi. Dayakari maa bimalanka nikata re bola jauthiba malishree ku upload karantu.
Swami Vivekananda said that 'As long as we are human beings we must worship God in man and as man'- the two best possible exemples of worshipping God as man or humanisation of God is perhaps Rathayatra and the autumnal Durga puja - in rathayatra the Lord of universe after returning back to his temple has to appease His wife by offering with ' rasagolla' after Jaganmata Mahalakshmi like an ordinary mortal lady denies entry of jagannatha inside the temple and in Durga puja Adyashakti Mahamaya is conceived as a married lady returning back to her paternal home after a whole year just for three days and returning back to her husband on the fourth , - this is the uniqueness of the Indian mind !
