On the topic of “the Great Firewall”, Hong Kong isn’t affected by whatever censorship created by that. It’s really not a great question but ignorance of the very subject people are arguing. While it’s very much understandable to wanting to paint a fancy picture of your own government but, assigning all faults to “hostile foreign forces” is quite the oversimplification that should’ve been below the standards of this conference.

The inclusion of the former US official probably seemed like a good idea, giving the pannel a semblance of legitimacy, while however he turned out to be inveterably vague and non-committal in all his statements, and hardly justified his place on the panel and time devoted to him. The most interesting topics like weaponizing AI and Stuxnet have been conspicuosly dodged only to devote time to such profound insights like things are gonna get worse and don’t use your password on multiple platforms. “Sad.” /s
