How to Use Instagram Live with Ecamm

Instagram Live has started rolling out its new desktop Live Producer!
This means that it's now possible to use Instagram Live with Ecamm on your Mac computer. 🎉 Go ahead and connect your favorite cameras and microphones, add graphics, overlays, and widgets, bring on multiple guests, and stream it all in vertical format. You can even multistream and add Instagram as one of the destinations. The opportunities are endless.
Here's what you'll need:
- Access to Instagram Live Producer on your desktop
- Ecamm Live (Marielou is using Ecamm Beta for this tutorial. You can download the beta at www.ecamm.com/beta)

My Live on Instagram is run by Eccam but it is not live on Instagram, it is only in the saved ones. Where is the problem?

What if you’re streaming on 2 platforms at the same time? Can’t really adjust the aspect ratio there. Can you addressed it. Hopefully it will be more integration soon.
No, we do not offer a way to choose different aspect ratios for different platforms, but your widescreen video that appears that way on TH-cam (for example) will show up as vertical on Instagram (Instagram will crop it).

Where do you get the stream key from?
You'll get the stream key from the platform you're trying to stream to (Instagram, in this case). Marielou's video shows you where to find it

Hi there! Unfortunately, that means that Instagram hasn't given you access to their Live Producer yet. There's nothing we can do to help. You'll have to wait until you have access.

It should be available if you have a professional instagram account. You may need to turn that feature on to be able to stream on Instagram.
How do i stream without delay
There will always be latency on a live stream. Some platforms support shorter latency, and there are ways to minimize it, but it will never go away.

Can I multi-stream to Twitch and Instagram?

@@EcammLive I was able to follow the directions and clicked "Go Live" after the Preview screen showed up, but the problem was that the preview screen had no visible way to mute, so it was playing on my iMac with volume while I was trying to use my built-in audio for my speaker and mic. Where is the MUTE button on the PREVIEW PLEASE?
Hi there! Not entirely sure we understand your question. You were trying to mute the sounds coming from your computer or something playing in Ecamm? In Ecamm, the mute button is in your sound window.
@@EcammLive After I see the IG preview screen, I click "GO LIVE" and that preview screen has audio that I need to mute but there's no mute button visible in the IG preview video
Sounds like you should either mute the tab in Google Chrome, or mute your system audio inside of Ecamm Live. Dealer's choice :-)
Awesome, I got it Today 😃so, it would be great if on Ecamm we could have a different camera just for Instagram, but going simultaneously wit the others, I would personally have one camera separate for Instagram aspect ratio and the other two cameras for the other platforms. 😁

How do you think the Instagram Live Producer system will evolve over time, Alice?
@@EcammLive Like every other platform, you'll probably need a certain number of followers to use it initially until it's open to everyone. Comparatively, you have more options to go live now than when Periscope and IG Live first made it popular to do so on a phone. I find most people go live on a phone, not desktop unless you're a gamer. If Facebook/IG opens the producer feature to everyone it will be so they have more quality content to place ads in.
