    I had my Shure SM57 since 1977. It's a workhorse for sure.

Thanks for the shootout! At 7:50 you suggest a mic should provide a faithful (I understand accurate) representation of the thing you're trying to capture, but I'm not sure this is always the case. It seems like mic choice is usually a combination of practical, functional and creative decision-making. Sometimes you do want that representation to be extremely accurate, e.g. classical recordings, location recording for film/video, that sort of stuff, but in music production, often you want the coloration a particular mic offers. Here you provide a great comparison of a classic, well-known mic versus a less expensive clone. The difference could be better on some instruments and not as great on others. It would be interesting to hear how the clone performs on spoken word, snare bottom, acoustic guitar, mandolin, violin and accordion. Thoughts?

Yes you are totally right about the mic choice adding color and such. For all the other instruments, it's $12 bucks so if you want to see what it can do for those feel free to pick one up. I would love to know your thoughts! Thanks for the thoughtful comment!

Pyle sounds good until it's in a mix with better mics, or layered with other tracks using the same mic. I changed the hair thin wire inside, for 18g and it sounded better, but still not good enough. You can't fix "cheap" with an eq.

The Pyle seems to be ever so slightly muddier, the Sure has a little more clarity. I think if someone was doing their recording with nothing but pyle microphones, nobody would know any different. I would bet the large difference between the 2 would come down to the lifetime and durability of the mics. Someone with a garage band, or doing small gigs could likely get away with the Pyle equipment, but they will probably replace it in 5 years or so. The Sure equipment will probably last 20 years or more depending on how it is taken care of. You might notice more difference if they were played back to back, or 2 guitars on the same track etc, but someone could definitely use that sound they get out of the pyle as part of their "sound" or "tone" also and just buy a ton of them for when one fails.

I was so moved by your video that I can't forget it even in my dreams, and happiness floods me. When I watch your video, everything feels like a dream. How did you come up with such a wonderful talent that is full of the strange charm of your video? I was amazed at the excellence of your skills and was moved by your sincerity and hard work while watching the video. I'm looking at your video like a dream. My eyes were moved by your image and fell in love. The countless stars shining in the winter night sky are each beautiful, but I fell in love with your image that shines in my heart, and your image is so beautiful and enchanting. I can't hide my happy expression after watching your video. I'm looking at your video like a dream. By chance at the winter window, as the algorithm introduced me, when I opened my TH-cam window, the first video I saw was your video. When I see your video, somehow everything feels like a dream. I admire your content for your videos, who never step aside and live only with the spirit of sincerity, no matter how terribly loneliness and difficulties come. Algorithm informed me that your video is so good and good. I am so glad to have met your video among the many videos that pop up on TH-cam like grains of sand on the beach. I am so happy to meet your video by accident and thank you for giving me happiness and being a candle of little joy in my heart. I am watching your video while looking at the reddish sunset. Thank you for making my lonely heart happy with your beautiful video. Your video moves my heart.

Not sure you guys would be so confident in the difference if it was a blind test.

On one source maybe, but the pyles sound like poop in a mix.
