My mom was married before she met my dad. After she got divorced, she met my dad at work and they started dating. 2 months later, my mom found out she was pregnant (with me). She was told she couldn’t have kids and was overjoyed. My dad yelled at her and told her to get an abortion. My parents broke up when my mom was 3 months pregnant. About 2 years after I was born, my dad started trying to get back together. He proposed several times. My mom said no every time because he was abusive and constantly tried to pick a fight with her. He proposed at an airport and she said no. They were visiting his sister (my aunt), and my dad tried to kill my mom. He left and forced my mom to walk to a rental car place in the burning heat...AND she had broken her foot. I was 2 at the time. It’s been about 10 years. They hate each other and my dad hasn’t changed. I still have to see him several days a week, too. I’m very glad they didn’t get married. My dad is very controlling and I hate to see what he would’ve done to me and my mom.
