Johnny Marr visited Athy, Co Kildare, the birthplace of his parents on 2 November. While there he unveiled a plaque dedicated to him as part of the Made of Athy initiative. Local relatives turned up to the meet their famous Manchunian cousin.

Great stuff, glad you found the video. When I was doing it I thought it would be important for his Family. He was so lovely and patient with everyone hauling off of him.

Gaothmhor no joke here, that was actually the first time i’ve met him! because he’s been so busy touring and all that. Glad to meet him though, very inspirational and he recognised me straight away
