  • A short film by Photographer /Author Robert Redmond to help promote the beauty of Athy which is a Heritage Town situated in south Kildare on the River Barrow , the town is steeped in History and Heritage and well worth a visit.

    Athy, it's beautiful!!!
    I was able to fulfill my dream and visit the Ernest Shackleton museum.

    Beautiful. Hoping to visit once husband recuperates from an operation. This is where many of my ancestors were from.

    Everywhere looks good from the sky. In reality the town is dead. Nothing but bookies, nail salons, hair dressers and charity shops left. You know a town never had much of a history when the build a statue to a wealthy elite protestant like
    Shackleton. A man who wouldn't give the local Catholics the time of day.
