*I hope you all will enjoy this film* . I have just one request: please do not comment: "Everybody in this film is dead" and also not:
"No fat, obese people in sight", because that is só cliché and boring. Thank you!
What is the best moment in this film to your opinion? Mine is the charming old couple at 05:04.
Please also help to identify all the locations. *Press the CC captions button for a preliminary timeline*

I live there, most of the buildings and such are still here. we have a monument to thank the canadian army here to remember your late Father and buddies. With this movie and everyday I cycle in this very town, i love the historic buildings and roadways. (sadly some iconic streets or buildings did get replaced, but most is intact, not much got damages during the war. in contrast to the next real city Deventer, wich had big impact)

Hi Andy... My grandfather was b. in Canada-Ontario. I have his naturalization papers from I believe the early 40’s maybe later 40’s but do know he had been making several visits via boat crossing with family, even as a young child. I guess they could do some kind of border crossing as I was doing a little Ancestry on this and this was years ago. The 1st trip him being 7 and with parents that did have kinfolk in Michigan. I could not find any other trips in between, however some of my older cousins who have passed on now & lived very close to my grandmother many miles from where I grew up, said my grandmother told them that on the night they married which was in Illinois, that somehow he was taken into custody & transferred back into canada. So evidently the date of marriage was followed by him getting his Citizenship Papers that I do have. There is a lot of false information as most of us know on some of theses ancestry pages we sign up & pay for, as some relatives post heresay without documentation or records! I’m not one of those that do that. I believe things to be accurate only if there is a legitimate record or document to prove so. So getting back to the point, those older 1st cousins of mine that have passed now, we’re telling me that my grandfather fought in the war. My question to them was did he serve after getting into the US or was this while still in Canada. They couldn’t answer except that he served the/a war. I asked if there was any documentation of it or photos of him while in service. Surely there had to be photos somewhere but they each said not that I know of. I just always heard growing up that he served. So I then researched he US Archives & according to his age at death in the 70’s, it would of placed him in right at WW2, but I could find nothing on him in any branch of service here. I then got in touch with my mother’s oldest living sister- a direct daughter to them who was living at that time & she stated that yes, he did fight in the war. My 1st question to her was can you tell me which war & branch, years. Etc.. to which she also said I can only tell you he served while living in Canada just before becoming a naturized citizen of the US. Now this Aunt was born here in the US in around 1929, so therein lies a puzzle to me. Is there anyway you could look him up if you have any familiarity with servicemen in Canada. I can say he was b. In 1907, so perhaps an earlier war that Canada was in. I just found it strange that there were no enlisted pictures or documentation anywhere, within the older children here in the US and at that time I was onto this trail like a coon hound. I didn’t know who or how to contact the proper people or keepers of records to search him out in Canada though. It just doesn’t make sense to me, although even though all of those 1st norm children, including my very own mother who passed at 87 two years ago (also a 1st lineage child) would also say as I recall growing up that her father (my Grandfather served in the war). I just simply found out in the end it was just not best to bring it up because I would always state, there has to be photos or especially records at least if he fought here in the US as I did have access to war records & research & in putting his name in according to his birthdate & when he became around 18 years of age & forward... no records of his name was shown anywhere. Perhaps you can lead me to the proper sources there that I could contact?

I waved back. My grandparents were born in the 1890s, so this was their generation, albeit in a country they’d never visit. My parents were not quite yet born, but they could remember the late 1920s. Great to see! A lot of my neighborhood is still the same (the first few minutes of this film), but so many beautiful buildings are demolished in the late 50's, 60's en 70's because of the megolomaniac city councils who did not appreciate the beautiful village-like Apeldoorn, but craved for a city centre like Den Haag.
