Great video! Cassettes are the best!👍I love cassettes!❤❤❤Mix tapes,compilations.. All fun to make.I enjoyed ur cassette video. Please make another cassette video soon.Thank you for sharing.💜✌
Usually when a cassette gets eaten... it's due to not maintaining your equipment, such as keeping the tape mechanism clean. The sound quality of cassettes can be really amazing, if you use a high quality tape deck...not a cheap boombox, like many of us had back in the day...lol. Very soothing and relaxing video! Keep the great videos coming!😊
Exactly! or that it's just a nasty cheap cassette, i've very rarely had a tape chew up. After recently getting señor Onkyo, i´m impressed at just how good tapes sound, and i've been using them since childhood :o) th-cam.com/video/sd9QdGjxPs0/w-d-xo.html 11:00 on the linked video :o) The sound is fantastic in this comparison of Chrome tapes. Thank you :o)
Nice Relaxing Video. Glad to see cassettes are still being used and enjoyed! I do the same thing and have the same types of memories you mentioned... GREAT STUFF!!!
I love cassettes, and still listen to them every day. I wish I had some unsealed ones to open. I like the look of that Agfa LNX... and the Sony HD-F. Most of my tapes are 80s BASF Chromedioxide and 90s TDK AD, AR, SA and MA. I wish I had more variety but I sort of stuck with a few brands. I did once have a tape brand called 'Transylvania'... you know as in Dracula. It was something out of the 1970s... and the tape was light brown / orange. It was very hissy so I chucked it. Doh!
I have a load of cassettes (still growing) and I have some from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. I prefer the looks of 70s and 80s, but the later ones sound much better they haven’t deteriorated as much.
Omg! i want those blank cassette tapes. Since i was a kid i spend my time recording music on my cassettes i Use to love TDK & Sony Crome cassettes and of course the maxwell UR
Very relaxing and personal video. I totally get what you mean about your past memories or feelings being triggered by an image of something like a Konica logo, a color scheme or some other design. Takes you right to a specific point in time, it reminds you what music you were into at that moment. It's too bad smell streaming hasn't been invented yet. The incense, tea, and smell of newly opened tapes would make this a truly immersive experience. Hey, that electric blue is my favorite color too. That's the one and only thing I loved about those old scotch tapes from the 70s. Oh and that Fuji, CDFan... sports fan... leather football... made for tailgate parties maybe? Jock Jams? Ahh who knows.
Thank you Shawn :o) Yes the Konica logo, it's amazing how a brand, logo or something just brings out feelings as if it's a trigger of some sort. Yes it's a shame I couldnt share the scent too haha,. Yes its that certain blue, it's kind of like a small range of a few shades that do it for me, that electric blue to a sort of ocean blue. kinda like the blues in this photograph: www.flickr.com/photos/madija/34593177445/in/dateposted-public/ Haha the Fuji CD fan felt like a sort of limited edition thing going on, the only thing I wasn't fond of was the pink cover, i'm not a fan of pink, i'm more a pomegranate red which is my second favourite colour (actually the tea glass in the photo i linked).
I love and miss the cassette culture so much. When I was a teenager, mixtapes were a way of life for me. Buying just the right cassettes, selecting music tracks that flow into one another perfectly and keep a central groove, and putting it all together for either oneself or for a good friend (or for a secret crush... c'mon; who didn't do that? :P) was a form of art that's irreplaceable in the modern world. Yes, playlists come close, but it's still not 100% the same. Another part of cassette culture I used to enjoy too was the trading of tapes, or buying weird, bootleg tapes of live shows of my favorite bands. I remember a guy I used to buy tapes from in NYC that had tons of tapes like this; they were $1 or $2 USD a pop and a quick, cheap way of hearing songs and shows I couldn't get to make it to. But yeah, cassette culture and the floppy disk culture do have similar ideals and roots. I used to also trade tons of DOS shareware games and DOS demos (and a few pirated games; I was not an angel as a kid! :P) with interested friends in school, exposing them to new games and in turn also being able to get some games for my library as well! Every video of yours just becomes another clicking of a light switch in my mind... it's inspiring to see what makes you happy in life and spread that to others. It awakens me to want to tap back into things that I loved that I stupidly shoved aside (and for what, really? For the sakes of others who don't truly have my best intents at heart?). It's relaxing, personal, and in a sense, intimate to watch you simply being happy and a bit goofy on your videos; it's like we're all there in your living room with you, enjoying some mint tea and just talking about stuff we all love, laughing and chatting and just simply having fun!
I can relate to that, I think this is why I got back into tapes and still use floppies (even though they’re a pain in the freakin neck at times) .. As you say there is something about creating a mix tape, (I still enjoy this) though whenever I get the chance I make one up for a friend or two who still use tapes. Playlists are perfectly fine, if you’re setting them up in order to record onto tape ;o)) I couldnt resist that lol ..i’m not anti digital it has it’s uses but there’s always that thing missing, that tangible thing :o) I’m happy to hear that my videos have this effect, it means mission accomplished :o) Life is indeed short and we only have one, it’s not worth being prisoner to anything. More often than not, others stop us due to insecurity or envy of some form and sort, because they wish to be free. I realised this after I broke away from those same people you talk about who you shoved aside the things you enjoy for. :o)
Nice video! I also enjoyed opening new cassettes back in the 80's and 90's, especially when they were new tapes you never tried before. Some brands like BASF Chrome had a unique smell to them when you opened them.
Hi! I'm quite new to your channel. I came across one of your Sony WM-D6C videos, I'm hoping to get my hands on one soon! I was in awe after watching a few more of your videos. I love your take on ASMR videos. A couple questions, where is your tea kettle from?! I love it! And also, do you have a favorite/go-to tea?
When i think of Konica it always instantly reminds me of their 35mm film for photocameras :) And i almost got a Konica 35mm camera back in 2005 as a "factory-new" model. Had to chose between that and a Canon model. I chose the Canon and actually regret it looking back at it. Maybe it should have been the Konica since the camera was almost identical in features with the Canon model. I sold it on ebay again after a few years because it just wasn't a camera i had much fun with. It was one of these all electronic plastic-bomber models that i don't really see as good cameras where you really feel the mechanics inside.
Back in when I was in high school, I used to use the TDK SA90 tapes as they were my favourite ones to use. I had a few Sony chrome tapes in there too. I also had a few TDK MA90 metal tapes too, but I found that you can only record on them once because if you do tape over a pre recorded tape, the quality of the music deteriorates and sounds awful. Unfortunately after watching this video, I regret throwing my tapes out. I still have two decent tape decks sitting in my shed, a Technics deck with limited features, and a nice Yamaha deck which is my favourite, I’m hoping to pull that one out one day and go back to having a nice stereo rack! :-)
Great score on that lot, I have 2 Sony CD-it 120 min with the slide case (type2 by the way)and a 150min type 2 TDK I haven't opened yet, both brands sounds awesome, good video 👍🏾
I want to 'rediscover' my cassette tapes and you really know your stuff, so what deck would you recommend? I have a pioneer A333 amp, Denon CD player and Wharfedale 220 speakers. I don't want a twin deck model but will be recording from cd and ipad, 😊
Just my fingers :o)) just was doing an ASMR sound trigger that's all. I know, It's a little strange to see for somebody who doesnt watch ASMR videos haha
Very nice!! I'm not familiar with ASMR, but I just surrendered and it felt very relaxing (your voice and dialect helps a lot). You got some pretty stuff. Like that big crystal thing, I like that. :o) I like the part with Konika. I know that sentimental feeling you can get, when something you see, hear or smell takes you back in time. I have a few songs that take me back to the time, where I loved my C64 the most (yes, what else) - the very beginning. It was a time where I didn't know, think about or care about how it worked. It was just a wonderful pretty box with a big keyboard, that produced the most magical things on the television! ^_^ I sucked it all in! The song that is most powerful for me in this regard, is "David Bowie - Absolute Beginners". Another one that comes very close, is "a-ha - Blue Sky" (love a-ha's oldies). It brings on some fuzzy feelings. It also makes me a bit sad, because I know I can never really feel that way again. I'm too adult now. It's over.
Thank you! I´m glad it relaxed you, I wonder which triggered the relaxation and possible tingles :o) Oh that big blue mosaic vase, It my favourite, I havent seen another like it anywhere :o) www.flickr.com/photos/madija/28549354621/in/dateposted-public/ The feeling of nostalgia is strong and has a sense of longing. It may make you sad, but the beauty of it, is that you have the memories, you still do feel the feelings, which is why you long for them, and that's the beauty of it really :o) Sure things will never be the same like they were, because we are flowing and changing constantly just like our surroundings. I guess that's what makes the feeling special. The main theme of my channel is to induce these feelings within myself and others. I may be talking a little deep about it here haha sorry about that ;o) though it is hard to write about any sort of feeling such as nostalgia really, it's beyond words. :o)
Well, I did not experience tingling. Maybe I relaxed wrong, hah.. ^_^ But the scene in the beginning where you are seen from the side/behind, calmly leafing that Amiga book, pretty much triggered it for me. The mode was set. It seemed like a very relaxing and stress-free atmosphere and environment. I wish that scene was longer, heh.. ;o) A lot of nice pictures you have there. That vase looks impressive, and much higher than I expected it to be. I like shiny bling things (lol), though I only have few shiny things in my home. Damn, now I kinda wanna watch The Shining.. :o) Yeah.. My mind can be pretty simple. Hah, yes, you had a way with words there, but not uninteresting at all. It sounds quite accurate. I'd rather not change, but I guess it can't be helped.
No Brian, you relaxed wrong, how dare you ;o)) lol Actually that scene kinda continues in my chillout time compendium and the Amiga book flickthrough videos, accompanied by Amiga music :o) I remember seeing that vase and it was a must! one of it's kind as I think it's hand crafted and I was just drawn to it. Hahah the shining, My niece was around and we spent time messing around watching movies, she likes horror lol, for me it's okay, but fun if i'm watching it with her. :o)
I'll try and relax more correctly next time. :o) Maybe I need new headphones.. I like many movie genres. Horror is fine, as long as they're done right! Many horror movies are, in a word, horrible.. :o) Really badly made. Of course, bad horror movies can be awesome, if you're in the company of a fun person. :o) Oh.. You can just call me my real name on here, if you wish to do so. It's no secret, or anything. ;o)
I was joking about you relaxing wrong by the way ;o)..You just relax how you relax .(unless you're joking now? lol) I'm not a fan of the movies that base their "horror" on jump scares only, like scream for example, I remember throughout that thinking "ooh kaay there's going to be a jumpscare, prepare yourself Maddi" lol Movies like Insidious and Insidious 2 I find are the better horror, there's a story to grab onto and process. Though they leave a bit of a creepy feeling lingering which is why I would watch them with somebody lol.. then again I always prefer watching movies with a good friend anyway :o) Ah okay, I was going to ask at some point about your name. I wasn't sure about mentioning your name so I thought hmm, lets keep it safe lol :o)
okay!?. i am dutch so first of all after all the comments i really had to check what the asmr short ment. autonomous sensory meridian respons. how would i know. and saw some vids, and well it does something to me what also could be created by playing some nice lines on one of the yamaha reface series. as i already said in the previous vid in perticular the YC is what gives me the shivers. in your case it was a nice relaxing and meditational vid and now i know your favorite colour is blue. fuzzy light blue that is. just keep doing the things like you do them. i admire the fact that you do like compact cassetes so >much< . halfway your vid though, i got this feeling in my big toes something wasn't right. and wasn't fully comfortable. and then i noticed it. i wore my headfone the wrong way around. thanks for the nice vid. it was verry "madditational". not sexual.
Hahah feeling ASMR in your toes rather than your head due to wearing your earphones in reverse? you have an interesting nervious system lol ;o)) yes, maybe the sound of the Yamaha reface YC has some triggers for you, Or maybe it's the feeling because you really like the sound so much, I guess it's close. Everybody has different things that trigger them, it's cool how we're unique that way. And thanks Jan :o)
mmhhhh oh man that huge stack of TDK FE90 tapes. Back in 2006 i almost bought a 10er pack of these but somehow didn't… Because i felt like "meh.. why would i get these if I can get some SA90 tapes?" and now i'm kinda annoyed that i didn't because like with all TDK tapes you cannot get these in stores anymore xD Except for the Maxel UR90 tapes. Which are actually really good thou. Nice to see the CD-it Sony tapes again :) So far i have only had one of these. Which contained some music recordings and MIDI files that I played back with the Dreamcast Dreamkey browser. Which had the best MIDI wavetable synth ever, in my opinion. Must have been back in 2002 when i did record them.
A bit late to reply as I only just saw this, but I'm beginning to release batches of tapes of my music on Bandcamp: msmadlemon.bandcamp.com/album/subdued-light You can follow me there for updates if still interested.
There was something almost sexy or sensual about this video. Combining unwrapping cassettes (which I love), burning incense, and a woman's soft voice was almost entrancing.
Why did you unwrap the CDFAN1 if it was the only one you had? I also collect cassettes and always keep one of them in the original wrapper. The packaging is sometimes better than the tape inside. Love your videos!
My cassettes are all Type II (I think I have a few type I but are quite abused). I remember the treble is quite poor in type I, isn't it? I think I used to record spectrum games in type I :-P
Yes, type I didnt do so well in the trebles but sometimes do better than type II with regards to bass, which is why they actually came up with Type III ferrochrome, to get the best of both worlds but it didnt quite work out as well. Actually type i , it varies, some brands they're nasty lol.. but i've come across some type I that come close to chrome quality, it really does depend :o) .. Just like with Type II Chromes, i've come across one or two that sounds worse than high quality ferrics lol ... These TDK FE tapes I got are just OK .. nothing special just midrange, great for voice, radio recordings or just things non sentimental.. Yeah you wouldnt record C64/Spectrum games on Type II.. nor Type IV... unless your toilet paper was gold plated lol :op
What I realized now is that all my recordings, with very few exceptions, were a disaster :-D Ferro cassettes I only used when I was still a child... and then the quality is even worse :o))) I think also the type I cassettes I used were very cheap.. like this sonovox i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp39/HF1600ie/Sonovox_FeI_StereoferroI_90.jpg... When I started to record music I moved to Chrome and good brands: BASF, TDK, Fuji, Maxwell, Sony... With experience your intuition starts telling you that the darker the tape is the better is the cassette quality. The Chromes are almost black while the Ferro are brown :oP I think I never used ferrochrome. I have to take a better look at all the cassettes at my parents place.
Ferrochrome never took off, I guess it never worked out. I've not recorded on it before either and i would like to try as i'm curious.. If you find one keep it safe, it's rare! That Sonovox looks nice, I like that vintage orange colour :op lol though i'm sure it's cheap.. Soem ferrics were just freakin terrible, I have two philips vintage one images.45spaces.com/f/aud/philips-standard-ferro-low-noise-2-aud.jpg I keep them on my shelf because they're from my childhood and it's nostalgic but I tried recording on the blank side of one of them, and it's awful.. I think I would get more sound if I used dental floss. Yes thats what I go by subconsciously, darker tape the better.
I don't really remember the prices as in that time were my parents that were buying the cassettes for me :o) but I am sure the sonovox was cheap. I don't even recall the price level of the regular cassettes I bought when I was already a bit older. :oP The best looking cassettes were really the blank ones... because the ones with pre recorded music always looked really cheap.
It did irritate me a bit when pre-recorded music was on basic ferric tapes.. I mean come on we paid so much for them, at least make chrome the standard :op .. or give an option to get chrome at least. The blank ones i also feel were superior.
I do watch ASMR videos by the way, I know it's been sexualized but it's not supposed to be something sexual... hmm.I think this is the last time i'm going to do ASMR style content. I don't wish to attract this kind of audience. Or give the wrong impression.
I know you didn't mean it that way, and the comment was sarcasm. Actually one of my fave ASRM's was Daym Drops, as that was funny and hypnotic as the same time
Came for the cassettes, stayed for the cassettes. More cassettes. The ASMR was nice too. 10/10 would record to a cassette.
Was just thinking of doing that...
Always coming back to this video. To me is so perfect. Love cassettes 🎧🔊🎚🎛
Ridiculous……………………………ly kick ass. Love coming back to this one. Cheers!
I'm a big fan of ASMR. I use it a lot as background sounds when I work or after unwinding after a long day. That plastic unwrapping is just perfect.
I'm glad you found an ASMR trigger in this and enjoyed :o)
This is a masterpiece of a video, and you are delightful. So great to see others with a passion for vintage fun and nostalgic connection.
I know I’m a little late to the party but this is actually one my favorite videos ever
Great video! Cassettes are the best!👍I love cassettes!❤❤❤Mix tapes,compilations.. All fun to make.I enjoyed ur cassette video. Please make another cassette video soon.Thank you for sharing.💜✌
Finding the gap in the plastic case and slicing thru with finger before peeing the plastic is even better than opening a KitKat foil...
That is one kinky fetish...
Usually when a cassette gets eaten... it's due to not maintaining your equipment, such as keeping the tape mechanism clean. Best video still watching in 2023. You can even heard a meow from your cat in the background at the beginning 😅

You're (almost) always ASMR style, anyway ^^
Thanks :)

They still sell cassette tapes in Japan at the 100 yen shop!
Very stimulating 😄😌💜 ahhhhhh
I did fall asleep, but woke up in time for your teasing comment :) It is only 11:43, so I shall see if I can last one more.
Hey ms I think some basf or Sony etc including Konica are Korean saehan assembled cassettes.
Including Ferrics chromes and metal type tapes
I want to 'rediscover' my cassette tapes and you really know your stuff, so what deck would you recommend? I have a pioneer A333 amp, Denon CD player and Wharfedale 220 speakers. I don't want a twin deck model but will be recording from cd and ipad, 😊
Would you do this with your C64's games?
What was that running down the lamp at 12.00? :)

No Brian, you relaxed wrong, how dare you ;o)) lol
Actually that scene kinda continues in my chillout time compendium and the Amiga book flickthrough videos, accompanied by Amiga music :o)
I remember seeing that vase and it was a must! one of it's kind as I think it's hand crafted and I was just drawn to it.
Oh.. You can just call me my real name on here, if you wish to do so. It's no secret, or anything. ;o)
I was joking about you relaxing wrong by the way ;o)..You just relax how you relax .(unless you're joking now? lol)
I'm not a fan of the movies that base their "horror" on jump scares only, like scream for example, I remember throughout that thinking "ooh kaay there's going to be a jumpscare, prepare yourself Maddi" lol
Movies like Insidious and Insidious 2 I find are the better horror, there's a story to grab onto and process. Though they leave a bit of a creepy feeling lingering which is why I would watch them with somebody lol.. then again I always prefer watching movies with a good friend anyway :o)
Ah okay, I was going to ask at some point about your name. I wasn't sure about mentioning your name so I thought hmm, lets keep it safe lol :o)
okay!?. i am dutch so first of all after all the comments i really had to check what the asmr short ment. autonomous sensory meridian respons. how would i know. and saw some vids, and well it does something to me what also could be created by playing some nice lines on one of the yamaha reface series. as i already said in the previous vid in perticular the YC is what gives me the shivers.
in your case it was a nice relaxing and meditational vid and now i know your favorite colour is blue. fuzzy light blue that is.
just keep doing the things like you do them. i admire the fact that you do like compact cassetes so >much< .
halfway your vid though, i got this feeling in my big toes something wasn't right. and wasn't fully comfortable. and then i noticed it. i wore my headfone the wrong way around.
thanks for the nice vid. it was verry "madditational". not sexual.
Hahah feeling ASMR in your toes rather than your head due to wearing your earphones in reverse? you have an interesting nervious system lol ;o))
yes, maybe the sound of the Yamaha reface YC has some triggers for you, Or maybe it's the feeling because you really like the sound so much, I guess it's close. Everybody has different things that trigger them, it's cool how we're unique that way.
And thanks Jan :o)
Ma dove li prendi tutte queste cassette...che sono anche molto belle esteticamente. Dove li compri? Così me li compro anche io. Ciao, Ms.
mmhhhh oh man that huge stack of TDK FE90 tapes.
How can I get a cassette recorded by you?
A bit late to reply as I only just saw this, but I'm beginning to release batches of tapes of my music on Bandcamp: msmadlemon.bandcamp.com/album/subdued-light
You can follow me there for updates if still interested.
I first thought the "reCorD" said "to C or D" on the packaging because I couldn't read it very well and I was like
"to C or D? That is the question."
Soem ferrics were just freakin terrible, I have two philips vintage one images.45spaces.com/f/aud/philips-standard-ferro-low-noise-2-aud.jpg
I keep them on my shelf because they're from my childhood and it's nostalgic but I tried recording on the blank side of one of them, and it's awful..
The blank ones i also feel were superior.
love it very relaxing :)
Haha I still have unwrapped tapes too
holy moly :D
We are very alike. What is the name of the cassette group on Facebook? I would like to join.
Sure, it's here 'Cassette Tapes and Tape Decks' Facebook Group: facebook.com/groups/985045284868489/
I am very curious. Do you have a very small dog 🐕 like a Pekinese? I hear this tapping sound in your videos like a small animal running around?
Call me crazy, but I always keep the packing when I unwrap a new tape because they are so rare.
Hmm I share the craziness, because i'm thinking about doing the same thing the next time I unwrap cassettes, especially ones which are rare.
your in a facebook grp of semi professional cassette openers?
I never realised unwrapping cassettes was a profession ;o))
I always prefered TDK, I left my mix tapes when I moved😟 Freak!!!!!!
Hahah :o)
I thought she was loading up a hookah
Whichever perverts requested this...THANK YOU.
Perverts? ASMR isn't sexual by the way
Oh you don't know the half of it, haha...this was relaxing though
I do watch ASMR videos by the way, I know it's been sexualized but it's not supposed to be something sexual...
hmm.I think this is the last time i'm going to do ASMR style content. I don't wish to attract this kind of audience. Or give the wrong impression.
I know you didn't mean it that way, and the comment was sarcasm. Actually one of my fave ASRM's was Daym Drops, as that was funny and hypnotic as the same time
Angelica is one of my favourites, despite not having binaural, she's quite quirky and funny..
11:13 too fast unboxing :( :( :( I can`t wach this. Sorry
no problem :o)
Ridiculous..................................
k.
love it very relaxing :)
