Was planning on getting that Rifleman, but not if it's going to be smaller than it should be. Hope that's just a mistake that can be fixed.

The biggest benefit of the fold up buildings (and trees) for me is that they are easily transportable. You can carry an entire city in a single AS box.
Very this. Easy to transport and almost zero extra shelf space to store.

I went and pre-ordered the token pack as soon as I saw it in a GMG video. The cardboard and cardstock terrain they made is top notch. Been playing Alpha Strike with my 9yo and the ease of use is perfect for us.
Only logical explanation for the small Rifle man is that the produces fucked up and they had major mold shrinkage and just tried to play it off. The new Phoenix Hawk as same sort of issues but its head is WAY to big.
CGL and their partners (MFC) need to fix this and make sure it does not do this in the future, personally I don't think MFC is the right fit as a partner for CGL they have too many issues overall and there are other companies to work with in the US, but that's just my opinion as I like my stuff to be quality. I know people have contacted CGL and Scroggins about it so the words has been passed. And tbh it would be VERY weird if they suddenly would start a new scale on minis with the premium mechs.
A fuckup is the only logical explanation. Though why its been allowed to happen is beyond me as I would not put out a interior product when I'd know the fans would notice it immediately and demand either refunds or a fixed replacement.

@@DeathfromAboveWargaming Absolutely, and you are probably right. Tho CGL have not had a lot of luck with their resin manufacturing, this is I think their second partner and the problems seem to continue. I do hope it's only a learning curve and QC issue that they can get fixed going forward, as I do think Battletech benefits from a range of resin mech for those of us who likes the modelling side of the hobby and it's also an easy way to get variants out there without making things too expensive.

Now for my serious comment. I was sooo hyped for the Alpha Strike counters pack. My son and I have been using the ever loving heck out of the terrain from the Alpha Strike box and I love that I can pack an entire table of terrain in the box and just go to town. I agree though that I wish the balance was a little different/less repitition (not you buildings; you are wonderful). I too wanted more trees and roads/rivers/rubble. As Long Dan says, though, just buy two!

Thanks for the look at that counter pack. I like that they made the counters double-sided. Going to keep my eye out for that. Still trying to decide if I'm going to back the kickstarter and if so at what level. I still haven't finished painting most of the mechs from the last one. Glad you guys had fun at Adepticon. The premium Rifleman is smaller, perhaps if you sacrifice a Blackjack-3 from the Alpha strike box for its arms you it could pass it off as a modernized 50-ton RFL-2N. It would be a unique mech for a unit to field, 2 PPCs 4 medium lasers and 16 heatsinks makes for a decent enough mech. It's exactly the kind of oddity you might encounter in the Deep Periphery. The primitive tech 50-ton RFL-1N is in production in the Umayyad Caliphate during the Succession Wars and Clan Invasion Eras.

So the original primitive tech rifleman is like a 55 tonner, so you could maybe use the weird premium miscaled rifleman as that?

I also started coating my trees in light layers of PVA glue to help stop them form peeling.
Dude, you can spend 5 bucks on a pack of 2 D&D models from Wiz Kids and see much better quality control. It's been an issue throughout the Premium series. The designs look great, but I know a lot of people who simply won't buy these Premiums again. Too bad, really, because their main line of models is fantastic.
Was hoping it was going to be possible to make a 3C varient. Oh well. Though, disappointed that the scale is off.

The AS Counters looks so good. It has useful tokens for both AS and Classic. Question, what battle mats are you using? You said it before in your previous Battle Report, but I didn't catch it.
We use three brands: PWork, DeepCut, and Front Line Gaming.

Ah my nasty comment! For the rifleman, I’d argue it’s over gunned to the point it’s under gunned. It can’t use its firepower without bursting, and it runs out of AC way to fast. But agree it’s amazing looking! Personally though I don’t like resin that much. Warlord resin is the only kind that I have had success with.
Love these counters and hope to get them! Plus the urban mech lance!

Maybe it's the Rifleman RFL-2N? It's 10 tons lighter than the other Riflemans.
I have heard that this might be close to the truth, nothing directly confirmed but I heard they made it to scale with the 'Mech height they found but it may have been the Primitive variant that they found.

I frankly believe the Rifleman and Phoenix Hawk premium miniatures are nothing to be proud of. They're out of scale and don't match their kin that exist already. They didn't do this with the Stormcrow or the Timber Wolf, I see them as straight up production errors and oversights.
I'd be hardpressed to be convinced this is anything but a serious "oops" and demonstration of a lack of quality control.
Weird that they messed up the scale. I guess you could play it as a 1N or 2N... but why?
Yah and the 1/2N looks significantly different in the art. I was bummed but they have a good track record so far with scale … willing to let this one slide 😁

BattleTech doesn't need Premium Miniatures it needs individual miniatures that aren't random . At the moment I've stopped buying Catalyst stuff ....... The problem is I want more of specific mechs but I don't need at least the other half of the boxes contents and I refuse to buy random salvage boxes full stop .
I will buy the AlphaStrike counters though one day I'll convince someone to play it

after market selling and swapping is good at LGSs and on discord. I'd say if ya wanna sell individuals for 6.00 each of mechs you don't want there is a market for em. Although I would like a Catalyst build my lance/star option on their own website that came in a cardboard box like the urban company came.
