    After a year with the Soler TB I think it's the best performance upgrade I've done. CAI intake and Magnaflow exh has enhanced the TB, but the TB alone, after a few hundred miles is amazing. No more flat spot, much better throttle response and overall drivability.

      I agree, I have been pleased with the Soler TB. I was actually thinking about opening it up and doing a throttle body cleaning to see how it has faired over the last year. It's been on my truck for about 12,000 miles now.

    Good video showing how to install it, i'm wary of how much performance bonus you're gonna get though. I've always heard throttle bodies don't really give any noticeable boost. The amount of air coming in is still the exact same through the air intake, regardless of how big you make the throttle body.

    • @fondupot
      @fondupot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I definitely noticed a difference. But I have no dyno results to back that up.

    • @RatRacer88
      @RatRacer88 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't think of it as a performance boost, but more of a performance shift towards the beginning side of the curve. I ran one these on both my LFX 12 Camaro and 15 Colorado. As stated, these help throttle response in the beginning, and the mid range, say if you were to punch the throttle while cruising in the 25-45 mph speeds. It kinda gives a little shift to the torque curve towards the bottom end.

    • @fondupot
      @fondupot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good way of explaining it. Hits the nail on the head!

    • @madcratebuilder
      @madcratebuilder 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not about horse power or torque, it's about drivability. Throttle response is greatly improved, you get more air at less throttle plate opening. This was improved the shift points on my 8l45. I noticed the difference as soon as I installed and it continued to improve for the next 4-500 miles. I compared 0-60 times using a GPS app, minor improvement and not conclusive. If you have a tune it's even better.

  • @OldGoatWorkshop
    @OldGoatWorkshop 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I see you got the Trifecta tune and did the learning procedure. Could you just reload the tune and skip the on/off, on/off and driving to learn the TB? Not that it's a big deal to do it, just curiosity is all. I have a '15 Z71 4x4 CCLB with the Adv+ tune but still notice a little hesitation starting out when in ECO mode. Not so much in sport though.

    • @fondupot
      @fondupot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a short procedure. Either way the ECU has to learn the new amount of air coming in. I found that the off idle was much improved when in eco mode. And the truck just feels like a beast in sport.

    Love your videos. How has the new TB been working with the trifecta tune? Would a new tune help with the better airflow? I see they have a 76mm and an 80mm. Any input on one over the other?

    • @fondupot
      @fondupot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks a lot Anthony. The TB and Trifecta are working together perfectly. I haven't experienced any issues. I think they go hand in hand perfect. The truck was great with the Trifecta, but now its awesome with both. I think the 80mm might be better suited for someone that wants to do more custom tuning, whereas the 72mm would be better for folks that are stock, or have a canned tune, like a trifecta. Soler did say the 80mm ones would work without tuning, but he recommends most would tune with this option in order to get the full benefits of the larger much larger TB.

    How did this interact with your trifecta tune? Would the engine lug a little more before it shifted on throttle or was it the same just didn't have to hit the throttle as hard?
    I just got a trifecta tune and was considering installing one of these just for the increased air volume at the same throttle input. Does it effect the shift points or leave it similar to what trifecta tuned it for?

    • @fondupot
      @fondupot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it enhances the low rpm response even more. The two pair well together. The shift points dont really change with the new throttle body, its just a smoother throttle curve compared to stock. Thanks for watching!

      @madcratebuilder 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the Trifecta, CAI and cat back, 4.10's and 33's. The Soler 72/76mm TB improved part throttle drivability. I had a occasional hesitation when doing a rolling stop, just a split second hesitation. This appears to have eliminated that. Only have a few days with it, so far I feel it's worth the cost. It may have helped WOT, I think it was more intake and exh noise. I'll edit this comment when I get more time on the engine and the ECM corrects for the new TB.
