    What would it be like to stand with feet on Pluto's harsh surface? Find out by watching this.
    Idea for the series is made by The Vendor 101, this is my own version.

    Lot of people seem to not know weighing scales (as showed in the video) show Kilogram per Force, and think they just show mass, which is untrue lower gravity means lower force pushed onto a scale thus lower amount of Kilograms shown. For that reason it's called KpF (Kilograms per Force).

      Dreksler Astral Very true. Weight is how much the object weighs while mass is the atomic number(s) from the periodic table. This is the first video you have produced and I found it very interesting.

      Dreksler Astral Dreksler...a common mistake I hear often is using the word "and" with numbers. For example, 2006 is pronounced "two thousand six" - there is no "and". Same with 230 degrees Celsius - it's pronounced "two hundred thirty".

    As a person not interested in astronomy, this was well put, fun to watch and informative.
    I like the looks of Pluto, it has that calm, but also desolate feeling that space offers embodied in a planet.
    The fact that we need space suits and that we would die a horrible, painful death is what truly frightens me from going into space to begin with.
    Guess I'm a...grounded person in character.

    • @Drekslerr
      @Drekslerr  7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Thanks for watching. True space is scary but the unknown about it is the most amazing thing ever. Also it is understandable that people are frightened of space, it is not for humans obviously but we are trying to push our boundaries. That's why we should treat this planet like a treasure, we have no where to go outside, not a single place will be welcoming.

    • @sethkiparis7783
      @sethkiparis7783 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      True, but I would prefer we solve our problems here on Earth before planning an expedition. We still have social problems like crime, racism, terrorism, economic instability etc. that we need to sort out before we depart, if ever, from this planet.
      Leaving these issues unresolved will only haunt us in the future, thus messing the planet that we will colonize.

      Some have the idea that the people that will get on mars that they should create their own system and we should leave them alone. It would be interesting to be a spectator of that on earth. Watch a civilization grow. But on Mars they wouldn't be able to watch things live like sports because it takes even light 8 minutes to reach Mars

    The first stage was the ISS.
    The second stage will be colonizing the Moon.
    The third stage will be establishing a secure base on the Moons of Mars.
    The fourth stage will be colonizing Mars.
    The next stage will be colonizing the Moons of Jupiter and the outer planets.

    • @SomeLoops
      @SomeLoops 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. Mars will come before the moon. If I'm correct the planning is to send the first humans (forever) to Mars in 2024.

    • @coldworld309
      @coldworld309 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aaron Ruben - You're 100% incorrect. Going to Mars without having a solid base on the moon is suicide. Moon will definitely come first.

    • @SomeLoops
      @SomeLoops 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coldworld Give it a search. Both SpaceX and NASA have plans to send manned missions to Mars, SpaceX sooner than NASA. Neither do have any plans on going to the moon, only Russia I believe, and that will be just a visit.
      This is not speculation, these are actual plans.

    • @coldworld309
      @coldworld309 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aaron Ruben - NASA and SpaceX are both Hell-bent on going to Mars, of course, but they both view the moon as an important stepping stone. The importance of having a solid base on the moon before attempting to reach Mars cannot be emphasized enough. Any attempt to colonize Mars without a SOLID base on the moon is doomed. You are correct that NASA and SpaceX are quite (perhaps too much so for their own good) exited about going to Mars (perhaps prematurely), but it is a guarantee that they will (and absolutely must) return to the moon first.

    • @SomeLoops
      @SomeLoops 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have any reliable sources to back you up on this? I can't seem to find any.
      Even though the moon is much (much much) closer to the earth than Mars, it would be a terrible place for a base. Moondays are the equivalent of 27 Earthdays, where as on Mars they are only 40 minutes longer than on earth. This combined with the (almost) complete lack of an atmosphere on the moon will mean that there would be 324 hours of the temperature being 120 K and having only darkness, followed by 324 hours of it being 396 K, with constant (very deadly) sunshine. The fact that Mars does have some sort of an atmosphere (be it less than 1% of Earths) makes that plants can grow in pressurised environements and the temperature is more stable. Also, Mars has a great source of water, and the moon none.
      I can see why it would seem logical to 'test' the idea of moving to mars first on the moon, but in fact there is really not much to gain from it.

    When I see these vids I can't help but wonder if we would indeed even see the surfaces as we stood upon them. Outside of my house at night even with a bright moon all around me all is almost pitch black. Would we even be able to see the surface of the moon if we stood upon it, or would we need a light source? I'm sure that is a dumb question, but when I was growing up we didn't yet know that Jupiter and Uranus had rings, so we never covered these interesting questions! I never really had a chance to ask. l am so glad I discovered these videos. I will learn so much!

    Nice video was really good I enjoyed it. Yes partly because of its size but it's because it hasn't cleared it's orbital path. Pluto is a part of the kuiper belt with all kinds of other kuiper belt object as big if not bigger than Pluto.

    Still a planet, just a new class. Even has planet in the name 'Dwarf Planet-. So we have four classes of planets. Terrestrial, Gas Giant, Ice Giant and these guys.

    I actually think pluto would be really interesting to stand on, would it be possible to see the curvature of it from standing at the top of one of the ice cliffs

    It wasn't demoted to dwarf status because of its size. Rather, it was because it's in the Kuiper Belt, where possibly hundreds of other chunks of ice about the size of Pluto are found. For school kids, trying to learn the names of 300 planets or more, rather than 8, would be an insurmountable task. Until the probes got out there, nobody had any idea it was so heavily populated.

    You would weigh 4 kilo *ponds* , for kilogrammes is a mass unit and mass doesn't change.
    The kilopond, at the other hand, is a (non-SI) unit of force (and hence also weight) being roughly 9,81 Newtons because it is defined by the weight of 1kg on earth.
