      Thank you, I really appreciate it :) Ah that sounds amazing! A few years ago I was up that way and really enjoyed it, I think I spent a grand total of 5 minutes off of a bike path in the Netherlands haha.

      Yes it was! I went during August :)

      I think at one point you spoke about concerns over getting a pitch at a campsite? Did you find it quite busy? Was booking important? I'd hope they'd be able to squeeze a solo travelling in? Thanks!@@Geocycling1993

      That's a good question. During the summer break, tourist hotspots such as cities or points of interest can be busy. Usually for campsites and hotels, these places in particular during high season it makes sense to call ahead a pre book a place a couple of nights before. I found this usually alleviated any issues. The less touristy places are usually fine, such as towns and the countryside. Personally, if you can avoid high season then I would, I am a teacher and have no choice haha. Before, when I went in June and July, campsites were rarely busy and would often be a bit cheaper :)

    Superb watch , epic drone footage , btw, lot of places i France are closed on a Monday, some on Wednesdays or Thursdays ,you can check by clicking on them in google maps and clicking on where it says open or closed , or on the down arrow , it should then show you their lunch time closing hours as well , Bonne route .

      Ah I didn't know that! Thankfully I didn't come across this much. The bike shop had a little note on the front saying it was closed for the week and it said it was open on Google. I wasn't annoyed at them as we all need holidays, I just didn't want to cycle another two miles to the next one haha!
      Thank you for your comment and for watching the video :)

    The cyclist on the Load 75 at 15:29 was giving it some! Always wondered how a bakfiet like that would be for cycle touring. Loving the videos! Definitely giving me the itch to want to do one myself.

      Oh he was! I don't know how you could be confident on something so cumbersome haha! However, I guess a loaded tourer is no different :) Thank you. It's definitely worth it, cycle touring allows you to see so much more than other means of travel, just start off with a shorter trip which lasts a few days and go from there :)

    Been waiting for this. The one thing I’ve never done is touring I raced for 25 years and after that just kept doing club runs and the training runs I did when I was racing. Thanks very much for the video 🚴‍♂️👍

      Nice to see you again :) It's funny as I have never done any club runs and I have always admired the pace many road cyclists can maintain when racing! Not a problem, thank you for watching!

    Did you follow a Euro Velo route?

    • @Geocycling1993
      @Geocycling1993  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't intentionally follow any of the Euro Velo routes. I just plotted a route on Komoot for each day which roughly got me to Switzerland in a straight line. I have heard a lot of positive comments from people who follow them and they have been well signed when I have been on them!

      Ah was you? I probably should choose safer routes, however I don't give it much thought as where I live in the UK has no cycle lanes haha. I'm planning to follow the Euro Velo routes on my big trip through Europe :)

    I had not noticed before that you don't wear gloves.
    With all respect I think that is crazy, if you fall you will skin your hands.
    Why do you do it?

    • @Geocycling1993
      @Geocycling1993  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! You are correct with your observation.
      To be honest, I have had a few pairs of gloves that can cause numbness in my fingers and make my hands really sweaty in the heat. It's one of those things I know I should sort out but keep putting off, as I want to go to a proper bike store and get a pair that works with my hands! Thank you for asking, as it's something I should sort out sooner rather than later :)
