I remember I got my phone confiscated because I was playing the Light side Malak event during class. I finally beat it right before the teacher asked for my phone. The teacher was confused why I seemed so happy and relaxed while giving her my phone. 😂
Honestly, this^^^ I purposefully kept the gear low for bragging rights and showing as close to the minimum needed. However, in today's game take these guys as far as you can since they are so important. Especially the Jedi Revan team since it is great for the Krayt Dragon. Don't be like me and make your lives more difficult on yourselves!
It's also wild to think about how 4ish years ago Ahnald still had a standard job enough to "I've told my boss I'm going to be a bit late today" when he was first doing the Malak event. And now he's whaling for us so we know what characters are worth it, or not. I'm so happy that the Imperial Citizen support can keep him paid! Especially thankful for those who donate to him, because I get to enjoy this amazing content free of charge.

(Free-to-Play account) Managed to accomplish this challenge following most of your guide and crossing my fingers on mods. I finished it on October 14th after spending a full week on it. It was an honest grind for Light Side. Timing everything right was painful with only Zetas on JKR. Malak is already effective on my early Sith Empire setup.

For the Dark Side one I did it first try, and I did it without of any of DR zetas. My characters were also all under G12, except Candyman who was at G12.
Ong everybody made me scared of how hard it would be same with gas although Ik it's been nerfed so can't speak on how it used to be but also a pretty easy event after nerf only hard one imo was the c3p0
What abt the power? The req is 17.5k and I have all mine at just under g12 all abilities maxed without zetas and they are only like 16k power I really don’t wanna g12 them pls help
I just unlocked malak today ahnald. I just brought everyone except HK to gear 12 I can't afford the zetas on the old republic characters, and I can also use them in krayt so its not that much of a waste. I leveled up carth instead of juhani and I had relic jolee jkr dr and darth bastilla

I think both of my Revans were R5 back in the days, so the dark side fight was SUPER EASY, but light side was a bit more difficult, but I still managed to get through without too much struggling
Thanks for the tips. Just 3star lightside with only zeta on revan unique. Took revan to r5 for my jml team. T3 r5 from light bundle. Bas, mission, zalbaar g12.
I recently unlocked him and his light side version is an absolute nightmare lmao. I had all my characters at Gear 12 and zetas on Revan and I couldn’t do it because I wasn’t doing enough damage. I didn’t matter how hard I went on trying to get his stacks down, I’d never get them to get any lower because I wasn’t killing them fast enough, so anytime I was targeting anything that wasn’t a droid, he’d gain stacks. It got to the point where I knew I’d either have to spend tons of credits and mod materials to get more damage, put the zeta on Mission for her extra assist damage, or relic Revan. I decided on relicing Revan. I got him up to R4 and only then was I able to beat him after being patient, and even then it was too close to comfort lmao. It took me 2 tries with dark side and probably a couple dozen with light side. Malak is no joke if you’re stingy like me and you refuse to gear characters required for events unless it’s absolutely necessary lmao.
I would've chosen to give Revan the assists once zal was dead because of the fact you will do a flat damage bonus and if Malak was Marked more turn meter.
I got Malak the first time around and remember the frustration all too well. For 23 hours, I attempted LS over and over until I got lucky and pulled it off.
Whenever I get to it, I shouldn't have as much trouble as you did hopefully, considering the first character I got to relics was JKR, and I excitedely reliced him to r5 lmao. Congrats on the achievement, Emperor!
Ha ha, nice job. Ugh, Malek has been a.....Bane for me. I'm on the last 2 levels for him and I've been trying to figure out how to get him and General Skywalker since I only have 2 levels before unlocking him too.
I only just completed that start of this month. JKR took ages but Darth Revan did it nearly first try, and I managed to destroy all the pods both battles
this does not work at all for me, my characters are all around 25k power, which means nothing because he cant be 1 shot and if he doesnt die he instant gets a turn, drain life gets reset and he drains to full health. can kill all his pods and prevent him from enraging but it doesnt stop the fact that he resets to full after every hit with or without it being a crit
It's 4:00 am and I've been trying to beat the light side tier for hours every day this week. Atp idk what to do, I think my team is good enough, but I have horrible RNG. I'm using my best mods, they're all g12+, and I have most of the zetas and omegas. I'm so pissed because the droids stop reviving almost every time and I have to restart the attempt

Funny I actually just made a Reddit post a few days ago and it went pretty big about trying to do this. What helped me was armor shredding droids. Did it with less zetas and gear and was a pain in the a**!!
That's looks so strange. It would be much easier with next tiers: All zetas any Revan, any Bastilla R3, Jolee, HK G12, Mission, Zaalbar, Canderus, Juhani/Carth G11

i always use bastilla's second ability on Zaalbar, since Mission assists every time he attacks, and it gives him TM for faster armor shreds
I unlocked malak about 2 years ago with g12 mission and zalbar, the rest were g11, and I had the same zetas as you
for the light side it is possible for malak not to take any of the pods if you are careful to not hit malak as much
He is doing it on purpose

I have JMK and slkr and just unlocked Malik like 2-3 weeks ago and I had my slkr mods on zaalbar and my JMK mods on revan

I did This with even less gear But with Both revans on relic 5 :)
You can do it with gear 10 mission and Zaalbar and with only gear 8 on juhani. Granted it took me 8 hours at the time
