- Jey Uso defeated Ilya Dragunov in King of the Ring action on WWE Raw, and there are some fans who aren’t thrilled with Jey’s push as a top singles star. Is the company making the right move with the former member of The Bloodline? How has recent crowd reaction put WWE in an interesting position? And what could be in the works for Jey moving forward? Jey has always been boring as a solo wrestler, his moveset is: super kick, super kick, spear, splash. Spam super kick. There’s a reason that the wrestling community all tried to argue he had the worst singles match in WrestleMania history.
(Personally I thought it was boring but Undertaker vs Giant Gonzalez or King Kong Bundy was worse imo.)

We love jey bc we love jey's story. Hell jey's story is more heartwarming than Cody's actually. We saw jey lose it all when he lost Jimmy, lost his dignity when he lost to roman. Forced to be apart of a faction he wanted no part in. Rise to the top when he became the undisputedtag champions (and to this day we haven't had a tag team captivate the tag division since they dropped the belts). Have a fued within the faction with sami, go against the family again in a bloodline civil war, get betrayed by the one guy that he always knew he could trust, team up with the guy that dethroned his family. The bloodline story is just as much about jey as it is about roman
People forget there wouldn’t be a Bloodline without Jey. It was him and Roman

Y’all acting like the man isn’t apart of the biggest storyline his singles run is literally him passing time. I think if he would’ve actually won some of the bigger matches he’s had it would legitimize him more.
100% tbh he hasn’t lost a title match on his own yet though either. No one should be upset with his push he’s a high point of the night, and he will be champion this year.
He will put other talent over all while BEGINNING his singles run. Just as many other current champions have done as well.

I always love the Usos but you have to understand Jey has been in a tag team since he started. Everyone is expecting him to be super great as a solo wrestler but it will take time. I think what they should have done was have him update his skills for him working solo matches. His move set is great with his brother.
I think they will give him a chance to achieve what he can as a singles star then eventually when Jimmy is well they will get back together.
lol jey is better in ring than most, do remember he’s more experienced then Roman in the ring. He just hasn’t had the opportunity to shine, now he’s getting it and he deserves all of it

People can say what they want but I'm one of those people who would like to see Jey Uso as champion at least once. He doesn't even have to be a World Champion (that would be dope to see though) but even an Intercontinental Title run would be great to see, even if it's short.
But even if that doesn't happen, even saying that is a testament to how big Jey is as a superstar.

The Push That Jey Is Getting is what Richochet or Montez Ford should be getting to be honestly
Jey is on a list of successful singles wrestlers that came from a tag team. Shawn Michaels rockers, Bret Hart Hart foundation, booker t harlem heat, sting blade runners and ultimate warrior also blade runners. That's the ones that stood out for me. They're maybe I'm not aware of. Jeff Hardy edge.
He hasn't accomplished anything as a singles competitor, so you can't put him in that group

Jey appears to be over with the crowds. I thought his work at the end of the bloodline story was great. Dude should have been nominated for an Emmy. He needs to do far fewer super kicks. Make the move “super” again.
His promos have devolved into just saying Yeet wherever he can fit it in and the man needs a new finisher the 15 super kicks need to go
Im so glad you made this video because a couple weeks ago, a youtuber made a video on why Jey "doesnt deserve a main event push'' and the main reason being was that the youtuber claimed the Jey doesnt have "main event charisma''...My main rebuttal in the comment section was that Jey at the time held two spots in the top 6 in WWE merch sales and to me, thats main event charisma, but their argument was That Jey doesnt have the same main event charisma that Sid vicious or Hulk Hogan Had or ever be able to garner the reaction that the Rock Vs. Hogan match got at wrestlemania. I completely disagreed. He has enough charisma to be a top card talent, he just needs to add a few more moves to his moveset within the next few years..
Dragonov vs. Gunther is also a PLE match. Not a random weekly serial match. So they protect all 3 wrestlers

I think people mistake criticism with hate. Whether Jey's story is better than Cody's or not, some people find him boring, me included, that's a fact. I wish people would just agree to disagree, but I've seen some comments saying that people HATE Jey because of racism. It's so annoying, you can't disagree with people these days.
I was at raw last week and Jey is the most OVER guy in the company. People love to YEET. all his merch sold out. People were yeeting at all the gas stations and restaurants within a 10 mile radius of the venue

People forget Ilja is new to the main roster, which is supposed to be better than NXT in terms of experience. That's why it is a big deal when the main roster people go to NXT. Also, in terms of keyfabe, he's the last person since Cody to pin Roman CLEAN. I get that's he's not the most technical wrestler, but he's entertaining and super hot right now, and when the champion says, "This is your show now." he's not gonna be booked to be a jobber

It's gonna take time for him to fully transition to a single star. He has been a tag wrestler all his career. I love and support Jey. He deserves what he is getting. He has been working for more than 10 yrs to be where he is. He is not a product of the machine. He is a product of the fans. I love getting behind people like this. Ilja Dragunov is a nobody. On the roster. He is a new guy. The fact that people are angry cause Jey won are the same people who root for him for the past three years. These people would have reacted the same if Dragunov won. This is why wrestling fans ruin the fun. They ruin the fun of the story. Dragunov vs Gunther doesn't deserve to be in a random episode of RAW. Wrestling is not just workrate its entertainment. Jey Uso might not be a workrate guy. But he isn't that bad. I have always said he can have good matches to. His match with Dragunov was great. It was one of his best matches. I love and support Jey. The people that are angry are the vocal minority who love workrate. If you love workrate then go watch AEW. WWE isn't for you.
Id rather see Jey with the WHC than Damian with it. Damian is so not ready, he is not confident and sounds like hes reading lines off a paper. Jey carried him through their promos

Ilya Draganov vs Gunther has to be built properly. Having them face each other on a random Monday night raw wouldn't have done the match Justice. especially if they have Gunther just squashed Ilya in 10 minutes.

Jey is in the top 5 of merch sellers, and has been since he went solo, plus hes getting some of the biggest crowd reactions of anyone INCLUDING CODY, this is how the business has always worked, you make them more money, you bring more eyes to the product, you move up the card and eventually to a title

I’m not gonna act like I’m a wrestling head on the level of everyone else here … but I can tell you the bloodline story is one of the best stories ever because it has so many layers and moving parts too it. Like it’s genuinely great because even though it wasn’t planned or intentional party of the story without it ever meaning to be goes back when the WWE was trying to force him to be what he wasn’t and even though he sadly had to walk away for the reasons he did coming back heel played so perfectly off all the resentment he had for the fans not accepting him. Him losing and going away for a while is literally just making it better, giving the young boys a chance to fuck it up so the OG’s can come back to face off against the young boys in a civil war story line and giving Heyman a chance to reunite with roman. Ppl always acted like they hated Roman but they miss him sorely now that he’s gone cause Logan Paul is goofy he not the villain a champ needs. I think Jey will end up being the champion and Roman will get the other eventually and the bloodline will hold the belts again … that would be dope.

Jey gets a loud reaction and has been a sympathetic character for the last 4 years. Whether hes fhe best in the ring or not doesnt matter tbh. He is compelling (even if not very deep right now) enough of a character that people will want to see him.

I think Jey Uso will win King of the Ring and he'll soon be in the IC title picture. He can feud with Gunther for a month or so, then Gunther can win Money in the Bank and announce he's cashing in at Bash in Berlin on whoever is World Heavyweight Champion. Jey can face Sami or Chad for the IC title at SummerSlam or on the following Raw.
Ilja is new on the main roster and most people who watch Raw and or SmackDown, especially those who tune in only when there's something big going on, aren't familiar with him and his work on NXT, ket alone NXT UK. He needs more matches, promos, interviews, vignettes, stories...to grab the attention of the fans. I say we wait, I think he'll be fighting for a title by the end of the year .

Look Gunther and Ilja is great and fun but entertaining but the AVERAGE FAN… who drive the sales to where they want to be. Yeah, Jey needs a title run personally even if short term. lol even if for a week. I would find it great to give Dom the title. It’s some ridiculous win and then loses it right away.

Didn't Jey say in an interview that their WM40 match was cut short at the last minute so they had to change EVERYTHING. If true, I'll give them a little bit of a past due to the circumstances.
I have absolutely nothing against Jey and I'm totally behind his push...but with less time (more than 10 min still, plenty of time) they decided to change the match to one move spam? Absolutely terrible of an excuse.
All this Jey stuff is ridiculous. this guy is the biggest draw in the entire company. No one gets the crowd involved and invested as he does. The Jey we saw in the past was a totally different person. He was the Bloodline as was roman. It was about the both of them. Today he makes a ton of money for WWE and he deserves a belt.
