I was up there from 4/16-4/21 turkey hunting. I heard gobbles in the am, but didn’t connect. It’s the best in T-Hawk/Nokomis. Grouse were drumming this past week.
Hi Brad, sorry to hear you didn't have better luck turkey hunting last weekend. I've also been hearing a lot of grouse drumming. I hope you were able to enjoy your time in the northwoods, I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!
The ponds are one of the more challenging spots to catch action on trail cameras. Often times its more windy so I get a lot of false triggers. The cameras will also often miss movement because it ends up being too far away. When it does catch the animals it's usually catching something neat!
Opened up.my cabin near Hazlehurst this week. Lots of deer and turkey and even sn albino squirrel. I so enjoy your videos that remind of the beauty of the wildlife during the winter months.
Hi Tom! Glad to hear you were able to open up your cabin. Wow an Albano squirrel, now that's something I've never seen! That's pretty lucky. Glad to hear you are enjoying the videos and they help you get through the winter months. 😊
Great video! It’s cool to see the fisher running through the snow and all the deer too! It must be a little warmer where you are for the deep snow to melt so fast! Thanks for sharing
Hello WTUK! Glad you enjoyed the fisher and deer in the snow. Yep, its spring time now so temps are often well above freezing during the day so the snow does not last long. I really appreciate you watching!
Awesome captures, with all the warm weather, I think those bears are coming out a little early, we add a few on camera a few days before the end of March.
Hello Squirrelly Acres! Yes the bears definitely seem to come out of hibernation a bit early this year with the mild temperatures. March 19th was the first sighting I had here so vary similar to what you were seeing. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic captures 715TC, lots of different wildlife activity & fisher activity also. Good size bears and cool to see the fox tracking the hare. Enjoyed watching Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thank you! ❤️ I'm by no means an expert, lots of trial and error to find good placements. One thing I learned if you are trying to cature animals other than deer and larger mamals is to get your cameras lower to the ground. Sometimes just a foot or two from the ground. Especially in the early sping before the foliage gets too thick. In summer camera placement tends to creep higher as the woods grows in. In the fall it will go back down when the woods starts to thin. Then winter as the snow starts to pile up camera placement will need to be moved higher again. As for where to put the cameras, it's a lot of scouting and guesing where the animals will be. I've found spots I thought would be great but ended up having low activity. When this happens you just need to move the camera and try different spots until you find something productive. There are areas where I will put a camera for certain seasons as well then take down for others because of the animal patterns changing with the time of year. Again, I'm really no expert. It's a lot of trial and error to see what works. I'm glad you like the placements though! 😊
Yes the markings on the trees are mine and were put there to mark where I wanted to create trails. The land was very raw when I first got it with little ways of being able to get to the different areas so trails were needed. Often times I put my cameras on the trails because the animals like to use them too and it can carch more action than in a denser part of the woods.
Sorry it took me so long to make comment. I think I want to know where A314 is at so I can set up my blind. Actually, I don't hunt any more but that would be a nice bird. We noticed that knobby knees is doing quite well also. That is great. The snowshoes are almost completely changed as well. All we need to do now is get rid of the snow. For only five days, you had a lot of great content. Thank you for sharing your videos. We will be looking forward for the next one. Take care.
Hi Ken, sorry for my late reply! That was a nice tom by camera A314, for some reason they never seem to be around whenever I'm out there looking for them though 😅. Knobby knees 🤣, I love that! My plan was to post ten days but there was just too much springtime action in these five days. Hopefully, I can get caught back up and get the next couple of videos out soon. As always I look forward to hearing from you and appreciate you watching!
Interesting watching the deer kind of cycle through the area. Unless they have markings or injuries, I can't tell them apart, but it doesn't seem like there are as many as there were a couple months ago. I don't know if they moved on or if they're just not on camera.
The deer are pretty hard to tell them apart unless they have specific markings, I struggle with telling them apart as well. The deer population is the same from what I can tell. I don't post a lot of the deer clips because often they are just browsing not doing anything too exciting.

That pond view could be really fun coming up!
Thank you for another fun video 😊

We had an albino squirrel here a couple years back. They really do stand out in the summer time!

Coyote with deer leg 😕 Do you know which deer they got?
I don't know exactly which deer it was as I couldn't identify it by the time I found it. However, it was a deer hit by a vehicle.
The one that ain't there no more😂@@715trailcams
and or maybe the one with three legs?😢😂
Right! 😆
