Thank you for playing the whole concert. It is a masterpiece of emotion and sound. This girl is simply in her own league. She has a massive loyal fan base not just because of her emotionally stirring siren like voice, but also because of her unapologetic attempt to save our world, and give a voice to the voiceless.

Unique, shared and universal cutting through defenses and socially imposed trips and falls and similar barriers offering access to emotions that make life a treasure to be experienced, pervasive in a reality with no expectations but access to unlimited love and compassion. Such mastery though song, music, setting and dance. A very rare, rare storyteller. Thanks.

I have come to you’alls party late(we call it here in the islands “being on Hawaiian time”😁)
But, really connect with you both on your experiences you both share of your life. It’s another reason I TRULY connect with Aurora, like so many of her other WEIRDOS and WARRIORS. I’m an introvert. Always felt like I never quite belonged a lot of time growing up. At home and away from home.
So I just fall apart sometimes when I watch some reaction videos and observe those reactors that noticed certain elements of the song…or the artist, etc…that I had connected with too when I first heard the song.
And, when you, my brother, got emotional during Aurora’s cover of “Life On Mars”……it hit me too because every single thing you pointed out that you enjoyed of the performance, is exactly how I reacted to it too. And, you(and Aurora) had me get goose bumps and teary eyed too😁🫶🏽🤘🏾✌🏾
This young woman has taught this “50-something” year old dude so many things through her music, ESPECIALLY from the oodles of interviews I have seen. Hands down……my favorite human subject to watch in an interview. She’s so savvy…very deep thinker…brutally honest(*that one interview where the host tried to corner her by saying “….so Katy Perry Tweeted that she likes your music……Katy Perry is one of your idols?” She suddenly change her expression to a straight face….thought for about 5seconds, and replied politely..”No.” 😆😂)
And, her sense of humor is sooooo brilliantly hilarious. That beautifully tone of her speaking voice can really disengage any uptight interviewer she comes across. That pretty voice ALSO catches me off guard when cusses😂🤭😆🤣. That “….good night…my sweet mutha’ f%$kers..”, ALWAYS cracks me up. Another one she had me in stitches was when she looked at the camera with a raised fist and said “…F?€k Racism…”🤣🤣😆😆😂😂🤭🤭
    Much Aloha to you both🤙🏾🎼

    I'm Baaaack!
Hi Grauph and Nerdmuma!! I am writing after watching you guys react to the first part of HAIK ... through Aurora singing for the two girls and Christine. I noticed your post just a little while ago, so sleep is overtaking me, now. I'll add to this post tomorrow. Oh! It was wonderful to see your son singing along with the Sky music - so really cute! Thanks for your reactions. ... see below:
Yes, I am loving your reactions to Aurora being surprised in Bergen with her band mates, hearing Anne Brun sing one of her songs in person, the computer art experience and then the breath-taking concert in the forest!! When the male chorus took off their jackets and stepped forward for 'The Seed' and then gave the most chillingly beautiful backing vocals ... the look in Aurora's eyes!!
There is a little reviewed mini-online-concert that Aurora recorded live on TikTok back on Feb. 24, 2022. It is called 'Queer Sounds'. She is so charming and 'talks to the live chat' on a PC in front of her - out of camera. There are 6 songs that include 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' with an added verse by her ... and an excerpt from 'Smalltown Boy' with beautiful lyrics/melody. The search title is: AURORA x QUEER SOUNDS (Acoustic / Live on TikTok / 24.02.2022) HQ

You pointed out in The River that Aurora wrote an uplifting song about crying, and I think she almost always manages to do that. She doesn't want to drag us through the unpleasant or difficult things, she seems intent on lifting us above them. She has such a deft touch at that.

I happened to turn on sky and it announced it and it had like a 4 minute countown (I was super lucky the first time). I was in tears when she said it's ok to cry and I didn't understand why yet. I managed to attend 7 total in the last half of the month with christmas eve being my favorite because I got to virtually hang out with my middle son through it. Thanks so much for sharing this experience with us! I've seen this a number of times, but I'm always up for enjoying it again with some good company.
Early on, you wonder if she is also an "art" artist. Yes, she's actually a pretty good drawer/painter. She also makes a lot of her own clothes (along with her sister) and jewelry, so she's pretty much artistic all the way around.
You guys nailed The River. It was actually inspired by Aurora finding out that an overly high percentage of suicides are by men, and she surmised that a lot of the reason for that is the most men are raised to keep their emotions bottled up. So she wanted to tell everyone (but especially males) that it's okay to let your emotions out. BTW, the official music video is a fantastic work of art.
Not sure if you guys caught the fact that the older couple in front were her proud mama and papa. You mentioned All Is Soft Inside as one of your favorites, and papa was really getting into that one. I just love watching them react to seeing their awesome daughter in her element, and how cool it must be to hear how much she means to all her fans.
If you're up for more longform stuff from Aurora, I'm sure you'll get a lot of requests to do the Nidarosdomen concert (and for good reason -- it's freaking amazing), but you'll also absolutely love the KEXP Iceland mini-concert. It's a fan favorite, and only about 1/2 hour. Has (IMO) the best ever versions of All Is Soft Inside, Churchyard and Gentle Earthquakes, with tons of energy (dancing!) from start to finish.

Once Aurora said something like: “The worse you dance, the more beautiful you are, because it shows how free you are.”
I didn't have time to watch your reaction tonight... but hey, such a thing couldn't be delayed.
I had a very, very good time. It was really great. I'm glad you got to see her like that.
And glad you shared it with us.
The last song, when she's doing “drriilililililiii”... in that last song she looks so happy!
I believe that this spin was a total improvisation on her part. Specifically for this, here, at this time.
Did you notice how she greeted the man in the 3D station?
I'm not sure, but I almost feel like he was caught off guard, and suddenly showed extreme respect and adoration for her.
Well, I could be wrong. But I find it so nice from both on them.
There is one thing... I just experienced an audio issue, in that your audio recording or rendering was far beyond the Haik video’s.
So, I had to put the volume much higher for Aurora’s video, but it was too loud when your voices came in.
In the end, it was a great time watching your reaction. Fun, happy, emotional...
Thank you. I'm so happy you did :)

Oh yay!!! :D I don't expect you guys to post every Aurora thing that exists....but, if you're interested in your own time, there's 2 other docs about Aurora that are quite fascinating. "Nothing Is Eternal" is a mini doc (20 minutes) made early in her career. It's very...poetic. It was my intro to her...and I love it. "Once Aurora" is the big one. It was filmed during the tour for album 1 and recording of album 2. It's very well made and quite an insight into her life then.

    • @avedic
      @avedic ปีที่แล้ว +1

btw....posting this again, because youtube deleted it....again. This is my 3rd attempt. Gonna try to split it up and see if that changes things....?
I cannot for the life of me understand what is going on with youtube lately. About 50% of my comments just...disappear. And it can't possibly be due to any violations. I'm 100% about positive good vibes, period. YT is just wonky lately. Also...you search for something, and 50% of the results have nothing to do with it. What gives?

    • @avedic
      @avedic ปีที่แล้ว +1

ok....now that's interesting. I split the original comment up....and it only deleted 1/3 of it. The part it still deleted...I read for ANYTHING that might violate the rules. Nothing jumped out...at all. So...I tried posting individual sentences on my own channel...to see which one would get deleted. I found it. I used a word...that apparently is "not allowed." I said that in the Once doc that Aurora at one point has a "cry - sis." Maybe that'll confuse the AI? And that was the word they flagged. Which is just....can I say in-sayne? Is that allowed? I literally used the word "cry - sis" to refer to a moment where Aurora goes thru a dark moment...and how it's kinda difficult to watch because you feel for her. You know....empathy. But that's....not allowed I guess?
I just find it legit baffling how I can post nothing but positive stuff....yet get flagged for using an utterly innocuous word, especially in context. I fail to see how the word "cry - sis" is somehow inapropriate, especially in the context I used it in. :/
Now I'm wondering if anything in this comment is....iffy.
I used the word "dark." Is that too morbid..? Is it allowed? Who knows...
What reeeeally bothers me is....I love being active within a community of users on YT, such as posting on your guys' channel. But 50% of it.....disappears, with no rationale. So it's getting to be not even worth trying anymore.
I'm a super progressive very liberal person with zero malice(is that word ok?) or bad intention. But I'm forced to use the english language like I'm walking on eggshells, afraid of upsetting(is that word ok?) some faceless AI....
If social media companies keep this kind of thing up....they are going to hert(intentionally misspelled to play it safe) the broader progressive world. I don't understand how anti-censorship became the antithesis of liberal ethics.
ok.....I'm sorry, now I am going on too long.
And hey, maybe _that_ will get this scrubbed for all I know. gah.....
It's because of this, and other things, that I recently finally joined that _other_ short form video platform...the one with vertical videos. You know the one....lest I say it out loud and bring upon the ire of the Google overlords.
I apologize for my diatribe. I just got super frustrated by all this. And you check YT's help page about this very issue....and it's nothing but hundreds of thousands of people all saying the same thing. None of it resolved. :/

Here is a beautiful story explaining a line from the song "Infections of a Different Kind", and it shows that she thought about "The Gods We Can Touch" (title of the 2022 album) back here in 2018:
"On track eight you say ‘Be god in the shape of a girl’ - what does that line mean to you?"
"I was at an airport, it was late, I was alone and my plane was the last one to leave. It was the year before I wrote the song, so 2016, which was a hard year for me because it was quite busy and I was sick all the time - I was in the hospital many many times. So yeah, at the airport… I was on my way home again, I felt a bit out of place, out of my own body, and then I looked at this family. I saw two very tired parents, and then this little girl - she was maybe 3 years old - and she seemed to give them so much joy, even though they were very tired. And she gave me a lot of joy. And then I saw an old couple, leaning over to look at the little girl who was smiling back at them. She seemed to interact with almost everyone at the gate, and make everyone happy. Without even knowing it. And I loved the way happiness and love can be so… simple? Don’t underestimate the power of a child. It was just very magical to see how much it affected everyone and everything. If I was to choose a religion, I would love it if god would be something that you can touch. Something like a little girl, on this earth, and not something that is far away or judges from above, you know?"

There is a song of hers that is not on an album, but she has sung live. It's called "Animal Soul". It very much pulls at the heartstrings of the ones who don't "fit in". And, to me, the first few lines are a bit breathtaking. Does she really remember all this? (No spoilers for you). It would not surprise me at all if she does!
This is my favorite video of it. She opened a virtual Covid concert back in 2020 with this song. Just her on camera, playing a Steinway grand (whoot!). As always, she sinks into the song and we are taken along with tears and a grateful heart. th-cam.com/video/CADUQIDjc8s/w-d-xo.html

Wooooo! Let me just say that this recommendation was really more for you two than us. We all knew you both would absolutely love this and it appears we were right! 🥰 Now that you've gotten a taste of behind the scenes, it's definitely time you two pull the curtain wide open! You two have to react to the real documentary 'Once Aurora', if you thought the HAIK Docu. was good, wait til you see Once Aurora! It's a way more in depth behind the scenes of her life from 2017ish to 2019. I'm not sure how much it costs to buy on TH-cam, but I personally know for a fact it's on the Tubi app, for free. Maybe someone has a mega link you two could use to watch it on your PC. If you two are serious about possibly reacting to it, I can probably find a source for it so that it'd be easier to manage. 🥰❤🧡💛💚💙💜

There are a few other documentaries on her. Each a different thing in their own right. Some more stylized and produced than this one. "Once Aurora" is about her early start. I think it's free on Tubi still. Even if you don't react to it, gives more insight into her as a person.

Great show guys, one of my favorite Aurora documentary/concerts for sure. Glad you took the time to do the entire Haik concert. Aurora, along with her Norwegian counterpart Angelina are my favorite female artists, both are simply spectacular at what they bring to us. Btw, one of the best female artists on the planet is Canadian/Belgium artist Lara Fabian. For a sample of what Lara Fabian can do is this unbelievable live concert and this song in particular which is simply heart wrenching performance, it is "Je Suis Malade" (I am Sick) with English subtitles as she is singing in French: th-cam.com/video/UrYqnbc0C8A/w-d-xo.html. For another unbelievable experience I shall also suggest "Je T'aime (I Love You) from Lara, Live in Paris (2001) and what the audience does at this concert is an experience you will remember for sure. Lara was going through some hard times in her life and the 10's of thousands in the audience let her know she is loved. :th-cam.com/video/qO3b-MyyTZg/w-d-xo.html. Enjoy both of these if you get the chance, you will not be disappointed. Cheers and Stay Well.

    • @eckligt
      @eckligt ปีที่แล้ว

@@grauph1up I agree with Mikael. I also spotted some mistakes in the translation. Here's two that came to mind:
4:50 (in your video, not the original): It sounds to me like Aurora says in Norwegian "har den vært der hele tiden?", but it goes a bit fast. It got translated as "what is it for?". But if I'm hearing it right, then it means "has it been there all the time/all along?"
28:58 (in your video, not the original): Norwegian "plater" got translated to "plates", but it actually means "records" in this context. We use "plater" colloqually for records in Norwegian, a bit like "discs" in English.
I speak native Norwegian (same dialect as Aurora actually) and near-native English, and my overall impression is that the translation is mostly fine, but with a few glaring mistakes, it doesn't seem like it was done by a professional. I would guess it's been made by a fan.
PS: I thought it was common knowledge that Norwegian is the dominant language here in Norway, so I'm a bit taken aback by your question to Mikael.
