*Theory:*
The Neighbor's son, Aaron, was a friend of Nicky Roth (the kid you play as in the main game) as confirmed in a Hello Neighbor book. After his wife's death, the Neighbor and his children fell into sadness.
Aaron becomes more aggressive and then pushes Mya, the Neighbor's daughter, off the roof. The Neighbor found out and locked him in the basement.
Maybe, the Neighbor was just misunderstood, and we've noticed in the ending of the main game, the Neighbor's expression looked like he was accepting his punishment for what he had done to Nicky in the past.
But that's just a theory...

The neighbour looks so happy with his family.
But I think that he may have lost his son or daughter in an accident and his wife probably wanted to leave him but he captured her and locked her in the basement hence why in the beginning of hello neighbour u hear a woman scream. It could be his wife. And maybe the person we play is his son and he's come back to save his mother. Just a theory

I have a theory, maybe this is the imagination of the little girl and this is explaining the bond of the brother and sister. The stuffed animals are the toys and the brother disguised as a dangerous animal, a tiger, and the sister as an animal saver. You are saving all the animals (stuffed toys) from the tiger (brother) and the clock changing time relates to the mother cooking something at the beginning cutscene and that's how much time you have until you are called to eat.

What is batim?
So it's safe to assume this is like a DLC of some kind before the Neighbor's life went to Hell in a handbasket. The jungle like area is obviously hw the world looks through the perspective of a young child. Damn...it seems so sweet and innocent, which only makes the main storyline even more heart-wrenching.

The message I get from the environment and the intro sequence is that these two children are playing and using their imagination. Now why their playing pretend made this strange world I have no idea. But the setting at the beginning tells me that this is mostly fun and games. Can’t wait to see more and find out the rest with you Ryan! Your hello neighbor videos are always my favorite

For those who don’t fully understand the concept of this game, Hello Neighbor Hide and Seek takes place the mind and imagination of the neighbor’s daughter. Her goal is to find and collecting stuffed animals through puzzles, while avoiding her brother playing as a tiger.

just some tips:
1- you can hide in the bushes to get away from the kid
2 - to get the groundhog plush (on that stick that keeps disappearing) you have to collect boulders and block all the other holes he can come out of so he can't escape
3- you can also use the boulders / rocks on the geisers to make the remaining geisers more powerful to boost up to higher places
You know you're in for quite the experience with an intro like that.

Use the rocks to block off some of those steam Geysers to make one of the Geyser collect more steam to get a higher jump, and you can use the same rocks to block off the gopher's tunnels.

Some tips! You can hide from the brother by going inside the small bushes that are around the area. You need to find the gun to get the monkey out of the tree and the bird flying (not sure where it is). There are also seventeen plush toys you need to complete the task. Oh and you can use the little geyser looking things to propel yourself to higher places. You can make the air stronger too by blocking the other ones with rocks or boxes. I don't want to give way too much, because I think part of this game does require to explore around, but I thought I'd give you a few tips to get you started.

Ryan think about water pressure, if there are 5 holes, cover up them each time, the pressure is gonna get more "aggressive", just like the "mini volcanoes" or geysers, they boost you, if you put something on top of each one, and leave one open, the pressure is gonna be immense, so its gonna boost you up to get more things, and to higher parts of the map
