Yeah lamb lion chops (only thing I can find at Giant supermarket) is $11.99/pound, which is cheaper than getting it at a restaurant but still only something I'd probably only buy for special occasions. There should be a fucking spaghetti aglio e olio recipe here, that's more my idea of budget friendly: one meal for under $5 and doesn't require you to buy a whole bottle of white wine. Depends on the cut of any meat :D The chop, like pork chop, is usually a cheaper cut than any other part of the animal. Any part of the animal that's more "worked" than the rest of the body (shoulder, leg, etc) is gonna be cheaper since it'll have a tougher chew. Like Beef chuck. A whole chuck roast will cost around 10-12 bucks. Cheap but delicious way to get your beef fix with plenty of iron and protein!
Just FYI guys…the one supermarket I checked in the UK was Waitrose, which is fairly expensive, the leg of lamb steaks were £5.25 each…£20 per kg and a chicken was £5…£2.83 per kg making the lamb 7 TIMES more expensive than the chicken…this is NOT a cheap meal!!
Might depend on where you live. Lamb is very expensive in the USA, but I assume it's cheaper in Great Britain since they're more lamb eaters than we are

Oh that is fantastic young man
That looks like some pretty good lamb chops to me! I like to cook my lamb pretty well done, it renders the intramuscular fat and makes the lamb sweeter. Good job GR!
I can't remember the price of lamb two years ago, but it's currently going the way of beef. God forbid if chicken or pork (which is already creeping up) ever goes the way of "cheap" lamb.
1:53 "now It looks like a expensive cut" that is because it is a expensive cut 😂
Gordon: This is a cheap cut
Me: Lamb meat is expensive
Gordon: Beautiful
Me: Beautiful
nope that doesn't translate well everywhere...I mean if there were less ingredients it'd be cheap but it's way cheaper to wait until the stores are almost closed and get a full rice with egg and meat and veggies for $6
I like this calm version of Ramsey :)
I feel like these guys reupload old videos because they know that even once we've clicked it and are like, "I've seen this before" we still watch it through lmao
Budget friendly meals: Gourmet 2 Min Noodles, with Spring Onion, broth and imaginary Lamb and Hope
Well done - looks seriously amazing - biggest error is "not a searing hot pan" - I am making braised lam shanks tomorrow - but I'll give this a go
Looks and I bet it SMELLS SERIOUSLY AWESOME..... tastes as such! Hmmmmmm....
Gordon, you're the best! I so appreciate these budget-friendly recipes and techniques. Thank you!
The irony of cooking up budget recipes in a £100,000 kitchen is certainly not lost on me.
In a house worth at least a million!!
