With regards to parenting rights, if a father changes his gender from male to female, would he theoretically have equal legal rights as the mother in family law / child custody proceedings in Ireland, and in effect be treated as the child's mother by the courts? Thanks Terry!
idk why he'd do that - fathers get custody 93 percent of the time they ask for it - if you want to keep your kids, stay as the father! check this report - Women’s Experiences and the Response of the Legal System. i cant put a link but pop it into google and you'll find a free pdf.

Hi Terry, I'm a middle-aged man and open-minded. I think it's a good thing that people can have their true gender legally recognised. I have a serious problem with section 18 of the gender recognition act, however. I also think you should be considered of your words. You said at the start of the video that people can legally change their gender. Really? I think you meant they can legally change their legal documents to reflect their true gender identity, which is a different thing entirely. Section 18 says that the person's gender must now be recognised as their sex? Really? The reason the legalisation was needed in the first instance is that the two are different. Putting in section 18 forces the rest of us into a situation where we must legally behave in a way that the person's gender is their biological sex even if they physically present as the opposite. The most notable aspect of this was in the Olympics, where a person who was a biological male was allowed to compete in a boxing ring with biological females. I wonder in the future when a biological male beats a biological female to death in a future boxing contest, what the world will think then? For example, will the world ask itself if the biological female was treated equally in the competition? As for asking a child on a form what gender was assigned at birth when competing in sport. Really? Gender and biological sex weren't assigned at birth they were assigned at conception. They weren't assigned by parents or medical staff but by the person's dna. To include section 18 in the gender recognition act inserts a dogmatic absurdity into Irish law. As for equality? Why don't you put up a video on the rights an Irish father has relative to an Irish mother re their kids where the relationship has broken down and the two weren't married. We will see then whether there's equality in the Irish legal system or not.
How do disability rights interact with human rights in Ireland, the EU and UK for people traveling there? Especially if we can declare that we aren’t moving there? I ask because someone tried to tell me I couldn’t visit because of physical disability that’s provided for by my own financial support. Basically the response is “why are you playing a victim role” and “nobody is required to save you” when I pay my own way
Not sure of your question exactly, but if you're from the UK or the EU then you have the same disability rights as any other country. If I'm misunderstanding your question, I'm sorry, but yes of course you are fine to visit so - and if you need the hospital etc then it's covered just like any other system you've paid into - although it's not the NHS so you have to pay money for some things - but you get the option to reclaim if you can be arsed with the paperwork
Are you asking Terry to research the gender legislation in these countries? Do you think Ireland should be more aligned with conservative Muslim countries?
Thanks for posting this Terry. Happy new year. I am very happy that Ireland is aligned with ECHR and somewhat aligned to GB/NI in regard to Gender Recognition. It seems there is a recent push to deligitimise transgender people. Hungary disappointingly taking a backward step and Xitter is platforming discrimination against trans people. There are certainly challenges to overcome, particularly around sport. The LTA recently banned trans women playing in Female Padel tournaments. This came in reaction to an individual rather than a policy. Now they look like they were fence sitting and it turned into a personal matter and hurt for an individual. I am still confident and hopeful that decency will prevail over fear-mongering and hatred. Our recent GE results at least shows ireland is more open-minded than Xitter would portray. Trans people are our community, our children. They should be supported.
I did not expect you to come out pushing extremist ideology based on the emerging religion of wokeism. Very disappointing. There is no justification for enshrining the beliefs of one religion into law and giving it rights that supercede other religious and secular rights
