    For me, softness is what I look for in a mattress. I like a mattress that I can literally sink in to when I lay down. The softer, the better.

    You see I hate it if it’s stiff, my back can’t handle it but I like sleeping on my side. So soft is good for me but I want it to be supportive enough where it holds up my waist and neck. I’ve always had the worst back pains even as a kid. Recently my boyfriend gave me this mattress topper and now I am here, he knew how much my back really messed with my daily life thank God for this man 😂

      I’m debating between the 3” or the 4”. Of course I want the 4”, but I’m worried it might be too thick and engulfing 🤷🏻‍♀️ What do you think??
      I’m a side sleeper and already have a memory foam mattress, but it’s too firm. I have spine problems and have had 20 back procedures in the last 2.5 years. I’m 5’2” and 115 lbs, I probably don’t need the 4”...?

    • @nikibronson133
      @nikibronson133 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Anonymous-im9ob oh wow oh my goodness. First off I hope that you're recovered at the very least. I can give you my personal experience with it. I'm 5 7 and weigh a lot. Like I'm not in a healthy weight range so for me personally if not engulfing. I also have a thick comforter on the top of the bed. I don't feel like the 4-inch would be too much for you but I also think for your body type it depends on what you like to cover yourself up with because if it's a simple blanket or sheet or bed set that's not too thick then I think it would be perfect but if it's a big thick comforter then you may feel cocooned. But it really depends on your sleeping style, which I think you being a side sleeper, this mattress topper would give you great relief because I'm a side and stomach sleeper and I feel no issues on pressure points. It also depends if you sleep hot because I sleep a bit hot and this topper does kind of keep heat in. I have a fan next to my bed for that but I would be aware of that. I personally think you should get the 4 in because for your body type I don't feel you would see a difference between the 3 and 4 inch too much so why not go for the 4. And the end it really just boils down to price.
      My roommate in our dorm had a different Lucid topper which was a three inch lavender infused one and she was very very thin. About 5'5, 5'6 120 lbs and she always slept like a baby so I think you should be fine on getting the 4-inch or whatever is in your price range

      Niki Bronson now I’m looking at the ViscoSoft Select High Density 3inch memory foam mattress topper. I’m trying to compare the densities and gel/cooling ability. I was mostly worried about it being too soft, like it would just smash down and be annoying. I think the greater the density, the more expensive they are. I’m trying to stay below $150. I’m sure I’ll love all of them, either the Lucid 3”, Lucid 4”, or ViscoSoft 3”. The lucid toppers are about 1.9 lb/cubic ft, and the ViscoSoft select is 3.5 lb/ft! It’s too has to compare online without seeing them in person. Idk which one to just pull the trigger on and be done!
      I sleep with about 5 blankets for the weight. I guess I like being cocooned lol!

    I have a disc hernia so my memory foam hybrid is very firm. So my question is should I get a 2 or 3 inch gel topper because I need to get the stress off my spine when sleeping on my back or side.It sure does hurt sleeping on my memory foam hybrid. I will buy the gel and hope to cancel out the pain sleeping.

    I have a 2-3" memory foam topper now that my Dr recommended to help alleviate myalgia pain, which it does. However, I'm now at an age where hot flashes and night sweats are regular and the myalgia pain is worse and more sensitive to pressure. Is there a mattress topper that you would recommend for a side sleeper with these issues? Thanks.

      It definitely fixed the "too firm" problem bit now It's a bit too soft! I wouldn't get the 4 inch again...I would go for 2 or 3! It allows me to sleep on my side but readjusting is a hassle. Sleeping without a pillow on your back is best because you'll sink in all the right places. It's a lot better than overly firm but I wish we got a shorter one. Also, I have to readjust it back into places as it likes to move around on the mattress.

      @Mattressclarity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since you're a stomach sleeper, you don't want a topper that is going to soften your mattress too much. Also, as a hot sleeper, a thicker memory foam topper could trap heat and make you sleep hotter at night.
      The Saatva mattress topper with graphite is a good match for stomach sleeping and we slept quite cool on it.
      We have also heard good things about the LUCID 2 Inch 5 Zone Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper. It is memory foam, but it zoned to give you the proper support in key areas. Also, it has many features to keep it cool at night.

      Hello! In terms of pressure relief for the hips, I really like the Tempurpedic and ViscoSoft toppers. However, I imagine with a fake hip, it is more difficult to move around, and these two might make you feel stuck because they are so thick. Because of that, I would take a look at the Layla topper which isn't so thick but still offers great pressure relief.

    I'm currently looking for a topper and have narrowed it down to the dreamfoam 2" gel or the lucid in either 2", 3" or 4". I'm 6'4 and weigh 270 pounds. I'm a side and stomach sleeper. Which would you recommend?

    • @Mattressclarity
      @Mattressclarity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Simon! For side sleeping, I would definitely choose the 4" Lucid. That's going to give you some better pressure relief.
      However, all of these toppers are going to make your mattress softer so they might make it less supportive for stomach sleeping. However, out of these, the 2" Dreamfoam and Lucid are going to better for stomach sleeping than the thicker models.

    I have been trying to replace my Beautyrest Palladium Lawrence Park, Hi-loft Pillow Top, Plush Pocket Coil mattress that I have owned for over 15 years. I LOVE MY Mattress!! However, we bought a king sized bed and it was a mistake. The king was too soft. We sold it and went with two Twin XL mattresses. My husband likes his soft side and I went with a firm. Its TOO firm. I am crippled in that mattress. I mostly sleep on my back and my side. I have terrible back pain and hip pain if I sleep on the firm mattress. It's so excruciating that I have to use my arms to lift my leg to roll over. I'm 44!!!! We paid $1200 for the mattress and I cannot return it because it was a floor model. I am at my wits end trying to find a mattress like the one I had for 15 years. I have come to the realization that I cannot afford to purchase ANOTHER new mattress and have been watching your videos regarding different mattresses and toppers. I just found this 4" Lucid mattress topper but can't find anything about satisfaction guarantees.
